Abstract: A heat exchanger including a header having a plurality of header openings with rigid tubes that may be made of plastic are inserted in the openings. The tubes are sealed to the header to prevent leakage between the header and the tubes to prevent water and air leakage between the wet, scavenger air stream flowing through the tubes and a dry air stream flowing around the tubes. A method of making the heat exchanger includes providing the openings with a flange and uses an interference fit between the rigid heat exchange tubes and the header openings. A self-leveling sealant may be used to seal the heat exchanger tubes to the header using, for example, a paint roller and/or a paint sprayer.

Abstract: A device for refrigerating and/or freezing products in which the products are conveyed by a conveyor belt through a treatment zone equipped with refrigeration equipment. The conveyor belt passes over sliding rails which are mounted on a supporting frame. To prevent excessive sticking of products on the conveyor belt, the sliding rails are arranged with a convex and/or concave curvature in at least in some sections, so that the conveyor belt slides on predetermined curvatures. Shearing forces are therefore created at the contact faces of the conveyor belt and product, resulting in release of the product.

Abstract: Disclosed is a method and device to increase the cooling load that can be provided by a refrigerant-based thermal energy storage and cooling system with an improved arrangement of heat exchangers. This load increase is accomplished by circulating cold water surrounding a block of ice, used as the thermal energy storage medium, through a secondary heat exchanger where it condenses refrigerant vapor returning from a load. The refrigerant is then circulated through a primary heat exchanger within the block of ice where it is further cooled and condensed. This system is known as an internal/external melt system because the thermal energy, stored in the form of ice, is melted internally by a primary heat exchanger and externally by circulating cold water from the periphery of the block through a secondary heat exchanger.

Abstract: To provide a refrigeration cycle capable of improving the coefficient of performance without lowering the cooling power thereof. According to a refrigeration cycle of the present invention, it is possible to adjust the flow rate of liquid refrigerant to be mixed with gaseous refrigerant in a U-shaped pipe by a control valve integrally formed with an accumulator, and enhance the degree of dryness of refrigerant delivered from the accumulator while securing the required amount of lubricating oil. As a result, it is possible to increase the degree of superheat of refrigerant introduced into a compressor, thereby making it possible to improve the coefficient of performance of the refrigeration cycle. In doing this, there is no need to lower the pressure of refrigerant discharged from the compressor, and hence the improvement in the coefficient of performance can be realized without lowering the cooling power of the refrigeration cycle.

The electrodes are placed inside the washing drum in a manner in which it remains submerged below the level of water through the washing process. By the use of the DC current, which feeds the electrodes the cleaning action takes place by the attraction of hydrophobic hydrocarbon chain of the detergent which gets attracted and embedded in to the dirt particle on the laundry; which is then attracted to the positive terminal along with the embedded dirt. Because of this action dirt particles are easily cleaned and rinsed without the use of much water and less power and less time. Hence this invention reduces the consumption of Power, Time and Water.

Abstract: A handcuff key “universal” shank and paddle for a common handcuff is attached, in-line, with an enlarged shank extension and bow or grip of a size and shape allowing its use while wearing heavy gloves. The shank extension is sufficiently long to accommodate heavily gloved fingers between the bow or grip and the universal shank and paddle. The enlarged bow or grip of the key is generally circular to fit the palm of a heavily gloved hand, and having a variety of apertures for key rings. The enlarged shank extension defines concave finger-holds for the gloved index and middle finger. The extended shank extends outward from the hand, while the heel of the glove hand engages the rounded rear surface of the bow or grip. The double-lock engaging stem is radially mounted about 60 degrees from the centerline. The key with extended shank is reversed for double-locking.

Abstract: A status indicator for a lock includes two locking units that operate independently, to execute locking and unlocking operations. The lock has a body, which contains an indicator and a brake bolt. The indicator is latched by the brake bolt to remain at a selected indication position. When one locking unit executes the unlocking operation, the indicator is driven concurrently to switch to another indication position corresponding to a window, and is latched by the brake bolt without returning. The brake bolt can only release the latch condition on the indicator through the unlocking operation of another locking unit. Likewise, the indicator returns to the original indication position. Thus through the window formed on the body surface, the indication position of the indicator may be recognized.

Abstract: A lock that includes a frame which is arranged to be secured on the outside against a first side of a tubular member of a hinged gate and at least one bolt which is arranged to extend through the tubular member, out of a second side thereof, into the keeper device. The keeper device is mounted on a fixed member, which is usually a pole arranged in the ground. In order to make it more difficult to force the gate open by inserting, for example, a crowbar between the gate and the fixed member, the lock and keeper set comprises a security device arranged to prevent the gate and the fixed member from being forced apart sufficiently to disengage the bolt from the keeper device. This security device includes a first security piece arranged to be secured to the frame of the lock and to project from the second side of the tubular member to extend, in the closed state of the gate, behind a second security piece on the keeper device.
