Publication number: 20060059692Abstract: A tube cutter having a relative movement generating portion is disclosed. It includes a relative movement generating portion, a tube cutting base and a tube cutting slider. The manual input portion of the relative movement generating portion is easy to be held by user's hand. A cutting blade, two auxiliary rollers and a feeding spring are disposed between the tube cutting base and the tube cutting slider. After the user applying a holding force, the pushing plate will compress the spring in the tube cutting slider so that the cutting blade feeds in. In case the applying force is too large, the entire tube cutting base and the cutting slider will be locked via the stopping plate. So, it can avoid any over-applying force to destroy the pipe to be cut. This invention is easy to clamp the pipe tightly. It can avoid the over-applying force. It can automatically feed in. And, it can feed in by holding force of hand.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 18, 2005Publication date: March 23, 2006Inventor: Tai-Hung Lee

Publication number: 20060059693Abstract: A utility knife has a disposable blade cartridge in its handle that has front and rear blade compartments. Each compartment is sized to store a plurality of blades in side-by-side relation. Fresh blades are disposed in the front compartment and one end of each is advanced one at a time substantially out of the compartment into operative position by a carrier that is controlled by an actuator on the handle. When the active blade is to be replaced, it is moved by the carrier into the rear compartment, and a new blade may then be withdrawn from the front compartment into the operative position. The active blade when not in use is partially withdrawn into the front compartment. The cartridge is lo reversed when the one end of all the blades in the front compartment are used, placing what was the rear compartment at the front, and the unused end of each blade is advanced into the operative position and when used they are each moved to the rear compartment.Type: ApplicationFiled: October 25, 2005Publication date: March 23, 2006Inventor: Gregory Fossella

Publication number: 20060059694Abstract: A leaf spring assisted opener for a folding tool such as a folding knife. The folding tool includes tool pivotally carried by a handle. The tool defines a tang at the proximal end. A leaf spring is carried within the handle for assisting in the opening of the tool. The leaf spring defines an elongated, arcuate configuration having a distal end adapted to engage the tang of the tool. When in the closed orientation, the leaf spring is biased toward the tang of the tool, thus holding it in the closed position. The tang of the tool defines a shoulder strategically positioned such that as the tool is pivoted from the closed position, the leaf spring eventually engages the shoulder and begins to release the tension in the leaf spring. At this point, the tension in the spring serves to open the tool the remainder of the rotation.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 17, 2004Publication date: March 23, 2006Applicant: United Cutlery CorporationInventor: Fred Carter
