Abstract: The present invention comprises a flexible shield for use with hand tools designed to cover and protect the back of the user's hand, fingers and knuckles. An open-ended design allows freedom and maneuverability for the user's fingers to manipulate the tool and operate its controls. One or more straps or fasteners may be used to secure the hand shield during its use without inhibiting finger movement. The shield may be formed to cover the vent of an air-powered hand tool in order to redirect exhaust air through the interior of the shield and away from the work material, thereby suppressing the generation and entrainment of harmful particulates and their suspension in the air of the workplace where they may be inhaled.

Abstract: A protective garment having an expandable material incorporated therein is provided. The expandable material may be formed of a nonwoven fabric having a first fabric surface and a second fabric surface which is opposite the first fabric surface. A section of the fabric defines at least one region gathered into a plurality of successive pleats. Each pleat is made of an overlap in the fabric such that a portion of the first fabric surface is disposed adjacent to another portion of the first fabric surface. These two adjacent surfaces are affixed to one another. The entire region is selectively extensible by application of a tensile force to the region which causes the two surfaces to at least partially detach thus enabling the pleat to at least partially unfold.

The thumbnail has a generally crescent-shaped configuration protruding from the thumb stall for scraping objects when a wearer's thumb moves in a back and forth motion. The configuration and the positioning of the thumbnail provide the user with leverage when cleaning and take advantage of the hand's natural movements. Abstract: Household-type front loading and water-recirculating clothes washing machine adapted to automatically measure the weight of the dry clothes loaded in the machine for washing, also on the basis of the information on the type of clothes in said washload entered from the outside (user), in which the measurement of such weight of the washload is performed by measuring the amount of water that is absorbed by the clothes in the washload when this is soaked with water to a point at which it is in a dynamic saturation, i.e. steady-state condition. Said measurement of the amount of water absorbed in the clothes is obtained by subtracting the amount of water that is present in the machine, and that does not interact with the washload, from the total amount of water let into the wash tub. The weight of the load of clothes is finally calculated by processing and interpolating the amount of absorbed water and rectifying such value with an information on the properties of the clothes in the washload.

Abstract: In a method of coloring a dye coating-formed lens by heating, the lens is subjected to half dyeing by changing the heating temperature depending on the lens site. This dyeing method involves heating a lens having a dye coating-formed on the surface thereof in a heating furnace to diffuse a dye into the lens. This method is carried out in a heating furnace having a frame section having the shape of a cube or rectangular parallelepiped, a heating section provided within the frame section, and an insertion port for inserting the lens provided on the bottom surface of the frame section. All or a part of the lens is inserted from the insertion port into a furnace inside of the heating furnace from the lower portion of the heating furnace and heated.
