An optical distance measuring device is aligned with the conveyance medium in the direction of travel. The measuring device measures a distance between the measuring device and a second end of the timber. A processing device is in communication with the sensor and the measuring device. The processing device calculates a length of the timber between the first end and the second end based upon outputs of the sensor and the measuring device.

Abstract: The invention is a trailer hitch alignment device that synergistically combines a laser level with an alignment mounting bracket, where the bracket, using a fastening means, provides a base on a vehicle for affixing the laser level to a vehicle. The laser level provides a laser beam which projects a lighted image that is a guide for coupling the trailer to a fifth wheel hitch on the vehicle. The level provides a means for confirming that the trailer, the vehicle, and the coupled trailer and vehicle all have the proper weight distribution as evidenced by their angle.

The regulating condenser is capable of regulating the amount of exhaust heat discharged to outside the system. The heating condenser produces moist air by feeding heat to an aqueous object to be dried placed in a processing vessel to evaporate the moisture in the object. Heat of condensation of steam is recovered by an evaporator as heat of a refrigerant, and the recovered heat is discharged in the heating condenser to use it for the vaporization of the moisture in the object, and excess heat is discharged by the regulating condenser to outside the system.

The pressing step presses the fiber web onto the imprinting band using a second pressure field. The pressing step further dewaters and dries the fiber web fixing the three-dimensional surface structure and the strength. The forming step forms the fiber web on the imprinting band.

The display layer may include a printed pattern, such as a camouflage pattern. The sign panel preferably includes one or more transparent sheets which are edge lit from a light source contained in the explosion-proof housing that shines through a window in the housing into the top edge of the sign panel to illuminate the face(s) and the indicia thereon. The light source utilizes a number of long life light emitting diodes. The exit sign preferably includes a sealed maintenance-fee rechargeable battery for powering the light source when externally supplied power to the exit sign is absent.

Safety on the highway is improved for both the convoy and non-convoy vehicles. The ability of convoy vehicles to maintain position in the convoy is improved by the use of indicators. A variety of indicators may be used, such as flags, magnetic signs, projected images, illuminated signs, window decals, or beacons.
