Abstract: For manufacturing a gas generator (1), a tubular body (10) having an opening (14) in a circumferential wall (12) and a housing part (16) having an attachment end (26) are provided. The geometry of a proximate rim (20) of the opening (14) and that of the attachment end (26) are coordinated such that a first contact region encircling the opening (14) and a second contact region on the attachment end (26), which is circumferentially closed, are formed. The housing part (16) is placed onto the tubular body (10) such that the first contact region is in contact with the second contact region. Then the body (10) and the housing part (16) are joined to each other by capacitor discharge welding.

Abstract: A sealant cutting tool including a handle defining a blade slot. Also included is a clamping bolt having a clamp axis transverse the blade slot, which clamping bolt is threadably engaged with the handle. In addition, a “T” pull is operatively associated with the clamping bolt so that rotation of the “T” pull around the clamp axis causes a distal end of the clamping bolt to move relative to the blade slot. The sealant cutting tool may include a blade received in the blade slot in operative association with the clamping bolt. In addition, the “T” pull may include an engagement head operatively associated with a proximal end of the clamping bolt. The clamping bolt may include a noncylindrical shoulder received through a mating, noncircular opening formed in the engagement head. Thus, the noncircular opening may be selectively engaged with the noncylindrical shoulder, allowing the “T” pull to be selectively engaged or disengaged from the claimping bolt.

Abstract: An improved neck band is provided for a container having a neck and removable closure at the end. The neck band is prepared from a straight-tear film, preferably a polypropylene film that has been oriented in a single direction. The neck band is provided with a tab and is attached to the neck and removable closure so that when the tab is pulled, the polymer material separates along a line around the circumference of the neck adjacent the skirt of the removable closure.

Abstract: An apparatus for displaying cards and papers in the workplace includes a central shaft portion having a pair of ends, with each end including a generally semicircular ring portion adapted to capture the slots of one or more cards. The central shaft portion may be releasably captured in a channel of a universal mount or a single- or double swing arm portion. Removal of the shaft portion from the channel permits the shaft portion to be split open along a break, thereby opening the rings along breaks in the manner of a split-ring binder. Alternatively, the shaft portion may be used alone (without a mount or swing arms) to hold a quantity of cards. The swing arms may be hinged upon a base portion and attached to the chassis or peripheral surface surrounding a computer video monitor, so that the swing arms and shaft portion can swing forward and around to fit the user's viewing preferences. When affixed to a monitor, the semicircular rings facilitate easy installation and flipping of slotted cards and/or papers.

Abstract: An interactive run-in-place model vehicle display includes a model vehicle, such as a model train, mounted to a base. The model vehicle includes motorized drive wheels that are suspended slightly over a model track or other simulated road base. The display includes a user interface for controlling operation of the motorized drive wheels. The motorized drive wheels may be operated so as to rotate freely without contacting the model track or base. Vehicle sounds may be generated by a sound generator located in the model vehicle or in the base. The model vehicle may be covered by a transparent case.

Abstract: A variable display device for selectively displaying messages on or adjacent doors to hospital rooms, hotel and motel rooms, offices, conference rooms and the like to communicate such messages to the viewer. The device includes a frame member that is rotatably coupled to a display member movable to change the message appearing in a window of the frame member. In particular, the display member comprises a rotatable disk mounted to a shaft or stud adapted to pivot about an axis. Various display elements are carried on the face of the disk. The display elements take the form of messages to be viewed individually through the window. A knob is preferably mounted at the outermost end of the shaft of stud, adjacent the outer surface of the front panel. Rotating the knob rotates the disk and therefore changes the display element viewed through the window.

Abstract: A display device comprises at least a first and a second revolving product stand (11,12) which are both rotatable about a vertical shaft (13). The first and second revolving product stands both comprise a product column, constructed in a further aspect of the invention from separate product holder elements (30), with an at least substantially polygonal cross-section transversely of the shaft, which are mounted rotatably about an axis of the shaft of the revolving product stand. The revolving product stands are placed on a shared base (10), wherein a coupling (17) exists between the shafts of the revolving product stands so that the rotations of the revolving product stands about an individual axis correspond to each other. A dividing member (40) can be arranged in the product holder elements in order to realize a subdivision into separate shelves.

The element of indicia may have a thickness of about 3/16? or otherwise in the range of about ?? to about ¼?. The resin composition includes photoluminescent resin and a polymer resin providing light conduction and light storage properties. The resin composition may comprise about 35%-40% photoluminescent resin and about 60%-65% polymer resin. If backlighting is included as part of the sign the resin composition may instead comprise about 25% photoluminescent resin and about 75% polymer resin. The resin composition may be a thermo-plastic, thermo-set casting or molding resin.

Abstract: An exit sign for use in hazardous atmospheres including an explosion-proof housing and a sign panel with indicia thereon. The housing prevents the ignition of gas or vapor surrounding the enclosure due to sparks, flashes or an explosion of the gas or vapor within the enclosure by providing an ample heat sink surface along any flame path to cool gases escaping from the housing. The sign panel preferably includes one or more transparent sheets which are edge lit from a light source contained in the explosion-proof housing that shines through a window in the housing into the top edge of the sign panel to illuminate the face(s) and the indicia thereon. The light source utilizes a number of long life light emitting diodes. The exit sign preferably includes a sealed maintenance-fee rechargeable battery for powering the light source when externally supplied power to the exit sign is absent.
