Abstract: The present disclosure includes systems and techniques relating to the display of photographs in motorized vehicles. In general, in some implementations, an apparatus for displaying a picture on a sun visor in a motorized vehicle can include a connector configured and arranged to removably couple with the sun visor of the motorized vehicle, a frame configured and arranged to receive and hold the picture for display in the motorized vehicle, and an attachment member configured and arranged to removably couple with at least a portion of the frame to form a connecting interface between the attachment member and the frame, wherein the attachment member includes a decoration that obscures at least a portion of the picture when in the frame, and the attachment member is removable using a single hand and without tools.

Abstract: The invention relates to advertising constructions, in particular to advertising and information posters, stands, panels and boards and can be used in the form of advertising means. The inventive information poster comprises image elements and a base to which said image elements are fixed in such a way that they change the position thereof by wind force. The base can be embodied in the form of a grid and the image elements are disposed in such a way that they modify the position thereof in horizontal, vertical and tilted planes. Said invention makes it possible to reduce the wind load applied mass % to the poster and to use large-sized posters on an outdoor space.

Abstract: A modular system for forming a sign blank includes a plurality of midpanels preferably formed from resin reinforced with fiberglass. Each of the plurality of midpanels includes a face portion having a sign side and a back side and a key end opposite a channel end. A male key extends beyond the key end at the back side, and a female channel is located at the back side of the face portion, at the channel end such that two of the plurality of midpanels may be joined by interlocking the male key of one such midpanel with the female channel of another such midpanel.

Abstract: A reminder system to remind a driver to check the height of a vehicle for adequate clearance in an area with a height restricted opening. One embodiment of the reminder system includes a warning sign attachable to a garage door, a windshield sticker and a visor sign to remind the driver of the height of the vehicle.

The main body panel faces the front face of the shelf. The label holder includes an attachment structure for attaching the label holder to a horizontally oriented shelf lip by defining a U-shaped slot or gap. The attachment structure includes a concave portion, preferably U-shaped, that is elastically stretchable or deformable. This allows stretching of the attachment structure to accommodate different depths of the shelf lip.

Abstract: A unitary projectile for an immobilization weapon and tethered by two electrical wires, has a plurality of electrical contacts including several contacts dispersed in a spaced pattern around the projectile after target impact. The pattern of several contacts substantially increases the probability that if the projectile hits the target, an immobilization circuit through the target will be completed. The deployment of the second contacts occurs as a result of the sudden deceleration of the projectile when it impacts the target or by the use of an additional spring-biased device. This simplifies the deployment as well as the projectile configuration and likely reduces the risk of misactivation or an ill-timed activation of the second contacts. In a preferred version of the disclosed embodiments, each projectile has its own electrical contact which forms one of the two polarities of the electrical discharge.

Abstract: A mechanical initiating system (10) for caseless ammunition including a weapon breech block and a powder transverse slider adjoining the weapon breech block. A firing pin is axially displaceably arranged in a through hole (26) formed in the weapon breech block. A powder body, which can be initiated by the firing pin and having a priming device, is arranged in the powder transverse slider. In order to achieve a reliable and simple sealing between the firing pin and the inside wall of the through hole, the weapon breech block has a grease reservoir which is open facing towards the through hole, and the firing pin is peripherally provided with at least one grease groove.

Abstract: A safety assembly for a firearm and method for using the same. A safety assembly includes at least one control extending to the exterior of the firearm; a bias element operatively associated with the control, the bias element biasing the control in a first position; and an unlocking mechanism, the unlocking mechanism being connected to the control and interlinked with a trigger to unlock the trigger when the control is in a second position. A method for using a safety assembly includes placing at least one hand on a forestock of a firearm; placing at least one digit on the trigger; using the hand to depress a button extending to the forestock to unlock the trigger, the button being operatively associated with the trigger and being connected to at least one bias element that biases the button in a locked position; and while the button is depressed, squeezing the trigger.

Abstract: An adjustable stock comprises a frame and a housing that slides telescopingly with respect to the frame between at least two configurations: a shortened configuration and a lengthened configuration. Preferably there is at least one configuration of intermediate length. To permit the adjustment of the stock, a lever arm, biased in a locking position, is pressed, whereupon it unlocks the housing from the frame and allows the user to slide the housing with respect to the frame from one configuration to another. The lever arm has a projection on the end that is either seated in one of several recesses in the housing, thereby locking the frame to the housing, or slidable within a channel formed in the housing and running from one recess to another.

The gun rest (10) can be rotated 180° to allow for sighting along any horizontal angle with respect to the wall. A proximal yoke (50) and a distal yoke (70) are used to support the gun. The distal yoke (70) is vertically adjustable to provide variable vertical sighting angles.

Abstract: A scope for a firearm can be used for a gun sight. The scope comprises a main tube that contains imaging optics therein. In certain embodiments, the main tube comprises a single continuous tubular body extending uninterrupted from a widened proximal end portion through a narrow medial portion to a widened distal end portion. A side focus assembly is positioned along the tubular body. The side focus assembly is used to vary the position of optics within the scope to adjust the overall focus of the scope.

Abstract: A fishing bobber for use with a fishing line terminating in a hook is disclosed. The bobber has a body floatable in water and a pair of elongate arms projecting from opposite sides of the body, said pair comprising a first arm to which said line is secured in use and a second arm. The centre of gravity of said bobber can be adjusted such that, in use and in the absence of external forces, the bobber is balanced so as to float in the water with its arms projecting substantially horizontally, and said hook is suspended by the line a user-selectable depth beneath the body. When a fish applies tension to the line, the bobber tips such that the first arm portion extends downwardly from the body; and when a fish releases tension from the line, the bobber tips such that the first arm extends upwardly from the body.

Abstract: A repeating animal trap is described that humanely captures animals and allows for their safe release. In one embodiment, the animal trap includes a wire body that forms a cage. The cage includes one or more animal entrances. The one or more animal entrances are each configured such that an animal enters from outside the cage and traverses a passageway that ends about the middle of the cage. The natural instincts of the animal causes the animal to go toward the perimeter and corners of the cage to escape. The natural instinct assists in keeping the animals from finding their way back into the passageway to leave the cage. To further keep animals from leaving the cage via the passageway, a passageway door is provided for each passageway. Each door is configured with a bias and a shape that precludes the animal from opening the passageway door once inside the cage.

Abstract: The subject invention pertains to materials and methods useful for management of certain pests. The invention is particularly well suited for the control of social insect pests and, particularly, termites. The invention concerns unique toxicant-containing matrices as well as apparatuses for monitoring pest activity and presenting a toxicant. The invention is useful as part of an Integrated Pest Management Program and can greatly reduce the introduction of harmful chemicals into the environment.

Abstract: In an insect lure and trap, a system for generating a carbon dioxide attractant has a combustion chamber in which carbon dioxide is generated by means of an exothermic reaction from a gaseous fuel rich in carbon. A container contains a pressurized supply of said fuel and a supply line connects said container to said combustion chamber. A normally closed valve is included in said supply line. The system includes means for sensing the temperature in said combustion chamber and for generating a control signal representative of said temperature. A controller responsive to said control signal compares said temperature to a reference temperature and opens said valve during selected segments of successive equal time intervals.

Abstract: A salt formed by the reaction of a carboxylic acid with a hydrocarbyl derivative of pyridine. The salts are effective lubricity enhancers when added to low sulphur content fuels and are soluble at low temperatures.

Abstract: The invention relates to an additive for improving the lubrication capacity of fuel oils with a maximum sulphur content of 0.035 wt. %. Said additive contains at least one ester of a bivalent or polyvalent alcohol and a mixture of unsaturated and optionally saturated fatty acids, whose carbon chain lengths are between 8 and 30 carbon atoms, the aforementioned esters having an OH value less than 200 mg KOH/g ester and an iodine value greater than 100 g I/100 g ester. The invention also relates to fuel oils with a maximum sulphur content of 0.035 wt. %, which contain the inventive additives. The novel additives exhibit less tendency to emulsify than the additives in prior art.

The fuel is transferred from the tank via pressure-resistant fibre filters by means of a forcing pump to a storage reservoir, where it is irradiated ultrasonically. The fuel is sucked out of the storage reservoir by the injection pump and excess fuel is returned to the storage reservoir.

Abstract: The present invention provides unique technology, systems and methods of cultivating different types of seaweeds, including, but not limited to, Porphyra (Nori), Laminaria, Undaria, Eucheuma, Gracillaria, Ulva, Sargassum, Codium, Cladophora, Ascophyllum, Palmaria, Furcellaria, Fucus or Enteromorpha, in land-based seawater ponds having a climatically suitable and nutrient controlled environment. These land-based ponds may be built in any part of the world with structural engineering and architectural modifications. The land based units for cultivation of seaweeds comprise phycological laboratory facilities, U-shaped sleeves, to allow the maturation of the sporelings; growth tanks, U-shaped cultivation tanks, a plurality of small inoculation tanks aerated with air, and a harvesting unit.

Abstract: This invention relates to a plant protective cover of a translucent polymeric material including at least one transmission spectrum modifier for minimising the transmission in the ultraviolet range up to 350 nm; and for adjusting the transmission in the visible light range between 350 nm and 750 nm in accordance with photosynthetic and photomorphogenic requirements of plants to be cultivated underneath the plant protective cover, to enhance the growth conditions of such plants. The cover further includes a transmission spectrum modifier for minimising the transmission in the infrared range above 750 nm. The transmission in the visible light range between 350 nm and 750 nm is adjusted by decreasing the transmitted green and yellow wavelengths and by changing the ratio of blue to red wavelengths transmitted towards a 2:3 ratio. The cover optimises growing conditions for plants cultivated underneath the cover thus providing relatively enhanced plant growth and performance.

Abstract: A support device and a method for its use with a plant for controlling and protecting plant growth. The device comprises a flexible band, a locking means, and a protective sheet. The method for use of the device comprises selecting a device of sufficient length to fit snuggly around the plant. The device is secured around the plant by the locking means. The locking means comprises engaging a flap into a perforation in the band. When the band is secured to the plant, the protective sheet can then be adjusted to lay between the plant and the perforations. The device may be adjustably secured around a plant, depending on the plant size, to hold the leaves and spikes of the plant in a generally vertical position. The device further provides protection for plants, allowing the plants to be densely packed together while in transit, thus maximizing the number of plants that can be transported safely.
