Abstract: A unitary projectile for an immobilization weapon and tethered by two electrical wires, has a plurality of electrical contacts including several contacts dispersed in a spaced pattern around the projectile after target impact. The pattern of several contacts substantially increases the probability that if the projectile hits the target, an immobilization circuit through the target will be completed. The deployment of the second contacts occurs as a result of the sudden deceleration of the projectile when it impacts the target or by the use of an additional spring-biased device. This simplifies the deployment as well as the projectile configuration and likely reduces the risk of misactivation or an ill-timed activation of the second contacts. In a preferred version of the disclosed embodiments, each projectile has its own electrical contact which forms one of the two polarities of the electrical discharge.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the catalytic conversion of hydrocarbons for generating a gas that is rich in hydrogen, to the use of said apparatus and to a process for generating hydrogen. The apparatus comprises a reforming catalyst (5), as well as a means (8) for supplying hydrocarbons to the catalyst. The reforming catalyst is arranged in an exhaust pipe (3) through which the exhaust gases of combustion processes are passed.

Abstract: A multi-step process of converting hydrocarbon fuel to a substantially pure hydrogen gas feed includes a plurality of modules stacked end-to-end along a common axis. Each module includes a shell having an interior space defining a passageway for the flow of gas from a first end of the shell to a second end of the shell opposite the first end, and a processing core being contained within the interior space for effecting a chemical, thermal, or physical change to a gas stream passing axially through the module. The multi-step process includes: providing a fuel processor having a plurality of modules stacked end-to-end along a common axis; and feeding the hydrocarbon fuel successively through each of the modules in an axial direction through the tubular reactor to produce the hydrogen rich gas.

Abstract: A tilt-latch assembly (10) is used in a window assembly (11). The window assembly (11) has a sash window (12) slidable within a master frame (14) between a pair of guide rails (16), each guide rail (16) forming a shoe channel (17) having a channel base (18). The assembly includes a tilt-latch (40) having a housing (42) supported by the sash window (12) and having an outward end opening (53). The tilt-latch (40) also includes a latch bolt (46) having a distal end (60). The latch bolt (46) is slidably retained by the housing (42). The distal end (60) of the latch bolt (46) has an aperture (62). The assembly (10) also includes a balance assembly (15) including a spool holder (30). The spool holder (30) is fastened to the channel base (18) and has a projection (41) thereon. When the sash window (12) is in a closed position, the aperture (62) of the latch bolt (46) receives the projection (41) of the spool holder (30).

Abstract: A sliding door for a motor vehicle which is movable in a sliding motion into an opened and a closed position is provided with a main lock arrangement by which the sliding door can be fixed in the closed position, and an auxiliary lock arrangement which supplements the holding force of the main lock arrangement when the sliding door is in the closed position. In an improvement over conventional sliding door arrangements of this type, the auxiliary lock arrangement is used not only for supplementing the main lock arrangement when fixing the sliding door in the closed position, but also for fixing the door in the opened position.

Abstract: If a supply voltage for a motor drops below a predetermined level during movement of a windowpane, a controller of a power window system outputs a stop signal instructing the motor to stop rotating, and stores in a memory a first position and a motion direction of the windowpane derived from a first signal generated by a transducer (signal generator). The controller compares a second position of the windowpane derived from a second signal generated by the transducer when the supply voltage for the motor is restored to the predetermined level or higher with the first position of the windowpane stored in the memory.

When the attachment portion is pushed, a tip of the elastic sealing lip is kept not in contact with a bottom wall, a projection end of a projected flange portion is slid on the slide guide surface while the elastic holding lip is deformed elastically until the projection end of the projected flange portion passes the peak of the projection ridge.
