  • Patent number: 7161055
Abstract: A process for the separation and recovery of minor components from vegetable oil such as palm oil. Esterified palm oil is subjected to molecular distillation giving a concentrate rich in minor components. The concentrate is then adsorbed to adsorbents such as normal phase silica gel, reversed phase (particularly C18) silica gel or neutral alumina as well as polymer absorbents such as polyethylene glycol and polyacrylate polyalcohol. Minor components such as squalene, carotenes, tocols and sterols are then selectively desorbed, separated and recovered using solvents operating at isocratic conditions. The desorption of the said minor components are sped up by applying pressure of between 0.2 to 50 bar. By the same method, individual tocols isomers from palm oil can also be separated and recovered.

  • Patent number: 7161056
Abstract: A method for producing a wound dressing wherein a curable silicone mixture is extruded onto a generally planar molding surface. The silicone mixture defines a first surface adjacent the planar surface and a second surface opposite the first surface. The molding surface is heated at a curing temperature sufficient to cause the silicone mixture to cross-link. The silicone mixture is uniformly spread over the molding surface such that the silicone mixture has a generally uniform thickness and the second surface is substantially planar. The second surface of the silicone mixture is laminated to an absorbent material after the silicone mixture has started to cross-link and transform to a gel due to exposure to the heated molding surface.

  • Patent number: 7161080
Abstract: This electronic musical instrument has an extremely simple user-interface that can be played with only three fingers, one at a time. A user selects from among a small set of chords, and chooses a music-ending. This enables novices to extemporaneously produce good, simple rhythm-guitar and rhythm-banjo music to accompany singing. Strummed-guitar, finger-picked guitar, and finger-picked banjo music is composed by replaying pre-recorded elemental chording-phrases and music-ending phrases. The chording selectors also provide limited notes between strummed chords for embellishment. Optional music-endings automatically match the selected voice, key, beat, tempo and volume, nearly precluding musical errors. Common musical keys and chord types are provided to accommodate all voice ranges, and the majority of songs common to the western world. Persons capable of singing on tune can play this instrument after a brief familiarization without any practice, playing guide, or prior musical education.

  • Patent number: 7161083
Abstract: The present invention relates to improvements in solar cell and solar panel photovoltaic materials which cause the solar cells/panels to operate more efficiently. In particular, the present invention focuses primarily on matching or modifying particular incident light energies (e.g., from the sun) to predetermined energy levels in a solar cell photovoltaic substrate material required to excite, for example, electrons in at least a portion of the substrate material in a desirable manner. In this regard, for example, energy levels of incident light, and thus, corresponding particular wavelengths, such as desirable wavelength (?1), or frequenices of incidient light, can be at least partially matched with various desirable energy levels in a substrate material by filtering out at least a portion of certain undesirable incident light, such as that of wavelength (?2), that comes into contact with at least a portion of a surface of a solar cell photovlataic substrate.

  • Patent number: 7161085
Abstract: A thin flat twisted-pair gap cable and gap navigator unit reduces the diameter of twisted-pair wire, aligns them side by side, and fuses and fixes them in place with two plies of tape so as to flatten the conventional round twisted-pair cable in order to pass the conventional round twisted-pair cable used for high-speed transmission through a gap in a window sash or the like. Two core wires each consisting of a small-diameter conductor covered with an insulating covering of PE or the like are twisted together evenly to make the twisted-pair wires, with the necessary number of twisted-pair wires aligned side by side. The insides of two plies of plastic tape are coated with a thermoplastic adhesive and the aforementioned cable is inserted into and sandwiched between the two plies of plastic tape and the tape fused together so that the twisted-pair wires aligned side by side come in the middle of the width of the tape to form a flattened gap cable.

In one aspect, the present disclosure teaches a printed circuit board having two or more cores coupled together using a prepreg sheet having selected regions of increased permittivity. In combining the cores with the prepreg sheet, the regions of increased permittivity are preferably aligned with power delivery planes defined between respective cores. By increasing the permittivity within the power delivery planes, the greater the reduction in area of the cores needed for power delivery and the greater the area retained on the cores for providing signal routing. As a result, a printed circuit board incorporating teachings of the present disclosure may support more advanced and complex information handling system implementations.

Abstract: An aligning gear for an electronic device including a circuit board having at least a first fixing section and a housing having at least a second fixing section is disclosed. The aligning gear includes a first limiting member and a second limiting member, both of which are installed on the housing. The first limiting member limits the circuit board to move along a first direction only, while the second limiting member limits the circuit board to move along a second direction perpendicular to the first direction, so as to make the first fixing section of the circuit board inosculate with the second fixing section of the housing along the first direction and the second direction respectively. Thereby, the circuit board is adjusted to a position where the circuit board is to be fixed to, so as to fix the circuit board on the housing and finish the subsequent fastening action.
