Abstract: In an espresso coffee maker having an espresso brew unit (1) and a coffee outflow duct (18) in fluid-conductive connection with the espresso brew unit via a crema valve (15) and having an end sided coffee outflow (19), no brewed residual coffee should remain in the coffee outflow duct nor leak out, for instance as leakage, through the coffee outflow. In order to avoid this, a return-flow suction unit (21), which is preferably independent except for a drive means, is in fluid-conductive connection with the coffee outflow duct (18) between crema valve (15) and coffee outflow (19), which is automatically activated when a brewing process is finished.

Abstract: The present invention is to provide a beverage extractor which contributes to reducing the installation space and enhancing the durability and can sufficiently extract the components of raw material. As hot water inlets for feeding hot water into a cylinder and extract outlets for letting out extract liquid prepared within the cylinder are disposed in the circumferential face of the cylinder fixed to a frame, a pipe can be connected to each of the hot water inlets and the extract outlets without having to use flexible piping or arrange a complex mechanism for connecting the pipes, making it possible to reduce the installation space and enhance the durability. Moreover, the components of raw material can be sufficiently extracted because hot water can be circulated within the cylinder in the lengthwise direction of the raw material compressed by the first piston and the second piston and the resistance of the raw material to the circulation of hot water is thereby increased.

Abstract: The motorized kayak includes foot pedal operated steering, and a selective lever that controls the polarity and speed of an electric motor, which can be retracted when not in use, as can the aft rudder. The kayak preferably has a topside axial enclosure, which may be rendered watertight and used as a bait tank or other liquid container, and typically at least one additional enclosure positioned transversely to the axial enclosure, which may or may not be watertight. These enclosures are preferably configured with the upper surfaces of their covers at a single level, for use collectively as an extended, relatively flat fishing seat.

Abstract: A multidimensional pedestrian crosswalk marker is disclosed. The marker typically includes three triangular surfaces and is three dimensional. Other shapes and dimensions may also be employed. Some of the surfaces may be coupled to each other and some may be separated. The surfaces may be defined by solid or broken lines or other shapes. Varying color combinations may be employed to accentuate the effect. Words, such as STOP, may also e written on one or more surfaces.

Abstract: In a process for manufacturing doped semiconductor single crystal comprises solidifying in a crucible, the amount of dopant is added into the semiconductor melt after the beginning of the crystal growth onto the seed crystal, or after at least partial solidification of the semiconductor single crystal in a conical or tapered portion of the crucible. Dopant may be partially added in advance into the crucible, with the remainder added into the semiconductor melt as described. Type III-V semiconductor single crystals or wafers having a diameter of at least about 100 mm, can be prepared having an electrical conductivity of at least about 250 Siemens/cm, and/or an electric resistivity of at most about 4Ɨ10?3 ?cm, and/or a significantly improved ratio of hall mobility to charge carrier concentration.

Abstract: The invention includes deposition apparatuses configured to monitor the temperature of a semiconductor wafer substrate by utilizing conduits which channel radiation from the substrate to a detector/signal processor system. In particular aspects, the temperature of the substrate can be measured while the substrate is spinning within a reaction chamber. The invention also includes deposition apparatuses in which flow of mixed gases is controlled by mass flow controllers provided downstream of the location where the gases are mixed and/or where flow of gases is measured with mass flow measurement devices provided downstream of the location where the gases are mixed. Additionally, the invention encompasses deposition apparatuses in which mass flow controllers and/or mass flow measurement devices are provided upstream of a header which splits a source gas into multiple paths directed toward multiple different reaction chambers.

A second support member having a shaped portion is connected to one of the ends of the first support member, wherein the shape of the shaped portion accommodates the crucible or other item. A support material covers the second support member, wherein the support material increases the coefficient of friction between the crucible or other item and the second support member. A spring is coupled to the other end of the first support member, and a third support member is coupled to the spring and configured so as to apply a force to the crucible or other item when the crucible or other item is placed in the shaped portion of the second support member.
