  • Patent number: 7165448
Abstract: After a driven sprocket into which a ball bearing is press-fitted is pushed into a cylindrical portion of a pump cover, a sensor jig is set so as to have its legs extending from a base plate in contact with an end face of the cylindrical portion, and a front end of a sensor plate movable in parallel with the leg 13 in contact with an end face of the ball bearing. When the driven sprocket is not in a normal position in relation to the oil pump, the sensor plate intersects a light path between a light-emitting device and a light-receiving device placed as opposed to each other on the base plate, and on the other hand, when the driven sprocket is in a normal position, a light-passing hole formed in the sensor plate comes on the light path between the light-emitting device and the light-receiving device. Thereby it can be automatically determined based upon absence or presence of an optical signal from the light-receiving device whether or not an attachment state is appropriate.

  • Patent number: 7165449
Abstract: An antenna in a radar level gauge for determining the level of the surface of a medium stored in a tank. The antenna has a first and a second electrically conductive layer, and between the conductive layers a dielectric layer. The second of the conductive layers is provided with a number of holes in a predetermined pattern. Leading to the center of the dielectric layer is a transmission line. The microwaves from a radar unit in the radar level gauge are supplied to the dielectric layer in the antenna via the transmission line and transmitted out in a radial direction from a feed point in the dielectric layer that acts as a waveguide. Via said holes in the second conductive layer a microwave beam radiates out. Due to matching of the phase of the microwave and the placing of the individual holes in the pattern that the holes form, a predominant waveguide mode of the desired order is obtained.

  • Patent number: 7165465
Abstract: A dynamic load fixture (DLF) applies a torsion load to a unit under test (UUT) to achieve the demanding aerodynamic load exposures encountered by a control actuation system (CAS) in flight. Instead of fixing the end of the torsion bar, the DLF controls the application of torque to the torsion bar, hence the UUT via a DLF motor. The dynamic load can be independent of the angular rotation of the UUT, which allows the DLF to more effectively reproduce desired acceptance tests such as torque-at-rate and nonlinear loads. Furthermore, application of the loads through a torsion bar allows the system the compliance needed to generate precise loads while allowing for the flexibility of changing torsion bars to test a wide variety of UUT on one test platform. To achieve the demanding aerodynamic load exposures encountered by a CAS in flight, the controller must be able to respond both very fast and very precisely.

Abstract: An outer diameter portion of a sealing member is rotatably supported by an inner surface of a nose portion. The axial movement of the sealing member is regulated. A tooth profile-shaped hole having approximately the same shape as that of a gear portion of a pinion is formed in the center of the sealing member. The gear portion of the pinion is constantly fitted into the tooth profile-shaped hole between the position where the pinion is stationary and the maximum moving position of the pinion in an axial direction. Therefore, the gear portion of the pinion cooperatively rotates with the pinion while sliding inside the tooth profile-shaped hole in the sealing member when the pinion moves on an output shaft in the direction opposite to the motor. Even after the gear portion mates with the ring gear, the sealing member cooperatively rotates with the pinion.

  • Patent number: 7165484
Abstract: A blast-resistant cargo container includes side panels and connecting members. The connecting members are mounted between the adjacent side panels to create a frameless structure of the cargo container. Under ordinary conditions, the structure still has sufficient stiffness for loading goods. When an explosive blast occurs in the cargo container, the structure is flexible and utilizes membrane strength in the entire container structure, whereby the cargo container is capable of withstanding the explosive blast. Bottom perimeter bars are able to be mounted around a bottom surface of the cargo container. Grooves are defined in the perimeter bars and L-shaped flanges are formed on one end of the connecting members. Therefore, by receiving the L-shaped flanges into the grooves, the perimeter bars are securely connected with the side panels.

  • Patent number: 7165490
Abstract: A press forming method is disclosed, wherein press forming can be effected at high speed while maintaining the horizontal state of a slide plate in press-forming a work-piece by a press machine. A press machine is used in which the slide plate is pressed by a plurality of drive sources using servo-motors for driving. The speed of one of the plurality of drive sources is set to a target speed for production forming for the drive source, and by using a function that shows a delay in terms of a speed of the drive source and a load thereon and also using a load separately found, the respective speeds of the drive sources are found so as to eliminate the delay between the drive sources. Trial forming is repeated on the basis of the thus-found speed to derive conditions that enable press-forming at high speed while maintaining the horizontal state of the slide plate.

  • Patent number: 7165497
Abstract: The invention provides longitudinally extending track support and track members for a mobile storage unit. The track support's upper surface has at least one protrusion which projects above and extends longitudinally along that upper surface. A mating recess extends within and along the track member's under surface. The recess and protrusion are sized and shaped for loose-fit longitudinal engagement of the protrusion within the recess when the track member is laid atop the track support. This permits limited transverse movement of the track member with respect to the track support, reducing susceptibility of the mobile storage unit's wheels to derailment if a transverse force is applied to mobile storage unit as it rolls along the track.
