Patent number: 7168536Abstract: The present invention relates to a tandem master cylinder including two plunger pistons and its object is to design the cylinder as simple as possible and to render its assembly as economical as possible. This object is achieved by inserting circumferential annular grooves directly into the housing of the master cylinder in order to accommodate sealing sleeves, namely both the primary seal and, in an improvement of the invention, the primary seal of the piston at the end of the push rod as well as the secondary seals of both pistons. Collecting annular grooves at the level of the connecting outlets for the compensating reservoir are further favorable aspects of the invention.Type: GrantFiled: July 21, 2001Date of Patent: January 30, 2007Assignee: Continental Teves AG & Co. oHGInventor: Hans-Jörg Feigel

Patent number: 7168553Abstract: In a first aspect, a substrate loading station is served by a conveyor which continuously transports substrate carriers. A substrate carrier handler that is part of the substrate loading station operates to exchange substrate carriers with the conveyor while the conveyor is in motion. A carrier exchange procedure may include moving an end effector of the substrate carrier handler at a velocity that substantially matches a velocity of the conveyor. A balancing mass is coupled directly or indirectly to a frame on which the substrate carrier handler is mounted and is adapted to accelerate in a direction opposite to the direction of end effector acceleration, as the end effector accelerates. Thus, inertial loads may be substantially balanced, and frame vibration reduced, despite potentially high rates of acceleration. The cap (12) has on a lower surface (16) a segmented receptacle (20) that is rotatably attached to a segmented ball plug (42) located on an outer end (34) of the swivel arm (32). The inner end of the swivel arm (32) has a segmented button plug (54) that is rotatably attached to a serrated bore (82) located on the mounting plate (70). The plate (70) also has a bolt mounting bore (78) that accepts a bolt that secures the plate (70) to a mounting surface (92). When the assembly (10) is secured, the cap support (12) can be tilted and radially rotated, and the swivel arm (32) can also be radially rotated to allow the assembly (10) to be positioned in an optimum cap (90) display position.Type: GrantFiled: July 22, 2004Date of Patent: January 30, 2007Inventor: Randall C. Patent number: 7168581Abstract: The present development is for a closure which provides a means for maintaining an effective pressure against a peelable seal affixed to a container lip as the sealed container is exposed to relatively high temperature and pressure conditions. The closure includes a liner which abuts a surface of the seal so as to sandwich the seal between the liner and the container lip. The resilient liner and inner foil seal are positioned above a retaining structure and function such that the peelable seal will not rotate relative to a container rim upon engaging the container rim as the closure is rotationally applied. This functions to inhibit torque transmission from the closure to the inner seal or reseal structure and further inhibits imperfections in the container rim from scraping or otherwise damaging the inner seal.Type: GrantFiled: July 28, 2003Date of Patent: January 30, 2007Assignee: Rexam Medical Packaging Inc.Inventors: Clayton L.
