Abstract: A pressure regulator for dispensing CO2 gas from a pressurized cylinder which has a reduced probability of freezing when liquid carbon dioxide is converted to the gaseous phase. A plunger which is configured to increase the length of the gas flow path between the regulator inlet and the regulator outlet, and thus to allow liquid CO2 more time to convert to a gas before egressing from the regulator. In the preferred embodiment orifices are provided through the plunger head and spaces are provided about the periphery of the plunger head, which allow the CO2 liquid to flow from the underside of the plunger through the plunger head, over the top of the plunger and about the side of the plunger head before egressing through the regulator outlet.

Abstract: A pressure regulator valve including a valve seat separating a fluid flowpath into an upstream region and a downstream region. A valve closure member is mounted on a valve stem, the valve stem operable to vary a separation between the valve seat and the valve closure member. A diaphragm is mounted in a housing, mobile portions of the diaphragm responding to changes of pressure in the downstream region by changing position relative to the housing. A diaphragm stem is attached to the diaphragm such that movement of the mobile portions of the diaphragm causes movement of the diaphragm stem. A linkage mechanically couples the diaphragm stem to the valve stem. The linkage includes four connected links, the links attached to each other at connection points. The linkage having a mechanical advantage which varies as the positions of the diaphragm stem and valve stem change.

Abstract: Described is a check valve with a housing having an inlet side and an outlet side, a flow blocking valve element with centering protrusions, an inlet annular shoulder, an outlet annular shoulder, cylindrical valve element cavity with an aspect ratio such that the flow blocking valve element cannot be put in a position where it is jammed. The centering protrusions on the flow blocking valve element support it on the outlet annular shoulder and allow flow to pass between the central disc of the valve element and the larger diameter of the outlet orifice. When flow is attempted in the inhibited direction, the flow blocking valve element is pressed against the inlet annular shoulder, forming a seal and blocking the flow. The valve has the advantage of being inexpensive to manufacture and highly reliable.

The check valve comprises a valve body, and a poppet mounted therein for reciprocal axial movement between a first position in which the poppet is pressed against a valve seat restricting flow through the check valve, and a second position in which the poppet is spaced from the valve seat permitting flow through the check valve. An inner bore of the valve body is expanded in the area of the poppet to maximize flow through the check valve, and the external dimensions of the check valve are minimized by eliminating a conventional liner between the poppet and the valve body. Additionally, the elements of the valve mechanism are designed such that they lock in place within the valve body during assembly.

Abstract: A tire for a golf cart includes an inner tire, and a thin outer tire mounted around the inner tire. The inner tire made of EVA solid foam material co-operates with the thin outer tire having a plurality of protruding bosses to construct a solid composite tire, so that the tire has a light weight, needs not to be inflated and has a better shock-absorbing effect. In addition, the pointed cylindrical shaped protruding bosses of the thin outer tire can be extended into the muddy or snowy ground to provide an excellent grip effect, so that the golf cart can be moved smoothly and conveniently. Thus, the tire has an excellent ground grip effect, so that the tire is available for the muddy or snowy ground.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a pneumatic tire with a built-in sealant layer comprised of a depolymerized butyl rubber based sealant precursor. The butyl rubber of the built-in sealant precursor composition is depolymerized in situ within the tire with an activated free radical generating organoperoxide. The organoperoxide is activated with a 2,2,6,6-tetra alkyl piperidine hindered amine. Representative of such hindered amines are, for example, a poly[[6-[1,1,3,3,-tetramethylbutyl)amino]-s-triazine-2,4-diyl][2,2,6,6,-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl)imino]hexamethylene[(2,2,6,6-tetramethyl-4-piperidyl)imino]] compound. The sealant layer, if desired, may be of a color which contrasts with black. For such purpose the sealant layer may contain a colorant of a non-black color to a substantial exclusion of carbon black.

Abstract: A method of forming a fibrous material includes creating a mixture of pulp, liquid, and a debonder. Drying the mixture produces pulp, which is generally mixed with binder fibers, where each binder fiber has a core and an outer layer. The core has a first melting temperature and the outer layer has a second melting temperature lower than the first melting temperature. The method includes providing the pulp and binder fibers to a dry-lay machine to form a layer of base fibrous material. In one embodiment, the layer of base fibrous material is heated to at least partially melt the binder fibers' outer layers. The method includes applying a bonding material to the layer; creping the layer; and curing the layer to form the fibrous material. Alternatively, the method includes embossing the layer of base fibrous material; and spraying a chemical bonder to the layer of base fibrous material.

Abstract: A balance material is applied to the inner surface of a tire at one or more selected locations to offset an imbalance of the tire. The balance material is fluently applied to the inner surface at a first viscosity, whereafter the balance material transforms to exhibit a second viscosity that is higher than the first viscosity and remains affixed to the inner surface of the tire at the point of application. A method of balancing a tire comprises determining the location and amount of balance material needed to correct an imbalance of the tire, applying the balance material at a first viscosity, and transforming the balance material to have a second viscosity sufficient to maintain the balance material at the desired location.
