Publication number: 20070051125Abstract: An apparatus and method for dispensing a liquid stored in a container is provided. The apparatus has a housing defining an inner chamber for holding a quantity of a coolant fluid. The housing also has an outer chamber that surrounds the inner chamber. The two chambers are separated by a barrier. A pump located in the inner chamber pumps coolant fluid from the inner chamber into the outer chamber. The pumping action causes the coolant fluid to flow along a flow path up the outer chamber and over the barrier and back into the inner chamber as outer chamber fills. A refrigeration means is located in the flow path for cooling the coolant fluid. The coolant fluid flows over a fluid conduit received in the housing. The fluid conduit is received in the inlet and exits the housing through the outlet for delivering the liquid from the container through the housing to the exterior of the housing.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 24, 2005Publication date: March 8, 2007Applicant: Icefloe Technologies Inc.Inventors: Sam Chiusolo, Markus Hess

Publication number: 20070051126Abstract: An object is to provide an apparatus which performs freezing and heating with a high efficiency. A compressor generates an air refrigerant with a high temperature and a high pressure by compressing the air refrigerant. As the air refrigerant is heated by a first heat exchanger and further heated by a heater, the temperature of the air refrigerant is increased to more than 200° C. in which bread and cookies can be baked, and the air refrigerant is supplied to an oven. Heat of the air refrigerant outputted from the oven is recovered by a second heat exchanger, and supplied to a high-temperature side of the first heat exchanger. The air outputted from the second heat exchanger is cooled by a cooler and a third heat exchanger, is adiabatically expanded by an expansion turbine to be cooled to ?85° C., and is supplied to a freezer. The air of the freezer is recovered to be supplied to the low-temperature side of the third heat exchanger, and then is supplied to the compressor.Type: ApplicationFiled: November 29, 2004Publication date: March 8, 2007Inventors: Seiichi Okuda, Shigemitsu Kikuchi

Publication number: 20070051132Abstract: A unitary, self-seating pierced earring support wire having a definitive design providing for the ease of insertion through a wearer's ear. A first, generally linear support portion which is positioned through the wearer's ear lobe provides for equal distribution of the weight of the earring ornament through the piercing and the self-seating earring wire utilizes tight radius bends creating vertical and horizontal members that act to restrict the relative longitudinal movement between the earring wire and the lobe of the ear. The restriction in relative movement results in a decrease of the ability of the earring wire to rotate in a pierced ear lobe and disengage from the ear lobe. A secondary, generally linear transverse segment of the wire returns in a direction toward the ear lobe, centering the earring directly below the middle of the wearer's ear lobe.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 6, 2006Publication date: March 8, 2007Inventor: Johanna McCarty-O'Brien

Publication number: 20070051168Abstract: A detector for detecting evaporated fuel leakage from a fuel tank is connected to the fuel tank through a canister for absorbing evaporated fuel. When an engine is not in operation, air in the fuel tank is sucked by a pump installed in the detector. If the pressure in the fuel tank decreases to a predetermined level, it is determined that the evaporated fuel leakage is within a permissible range. An orifice passage, formed in the detector, connecting a tank passage to a sensor passage communicating with a sensor chamber where a pressure sensor is disposed is slanted relative to the tank passage to shorten the passage distance up to the pressure sensor. Further, the orifice passage is connected to the sensor passage at an obtuse angle to reduce a pressure loss in the passages. Thus, the leakage of the evaporated fuel is surely detected while making the detector compact.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 1, 2006Publication date: March 8, 2007Applicant: DENSO CORPORATIONInventors: Yasuo Kato, Masao Kano, Hitosi Amano, Seiji Kunihiro

Publication number: 20070051170Abstract: A method and apparatus is presented for monitoring the cyclic variability of combustion or one or more cylinders of a reciprocating internal combustion engine. Exhaust temperature signals are acquired from one or more exhaust temperature sensors. Cycle-by-cycle values which are related to combustion characteristics are obtained from each exhaust temperature signal. Statistical parameters related to the dispersion of sets of the cycle-by-cycle values are then obtained. The statistical parameters are used to provide an indication of the cyclic variability of the engine.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 6, 2006Publication date: March 8, 2007Inventor: David Gardiner

Publication number: 20070051171Abstract: A ball joint for a motor vehicle includes a housing (6) having a cavity (5), and with a ball pivot (1), which has a pin (2) and a joint ball (3) and which, with its joint ball (3), is mounted in the cavity (5) of the housing (6) in a manner that permits it to rotate and pivot. The journal (2) extends through an opening (7) provided in the housing and out therefrom. The inventive ball joint also comprises sealing bellows (11), which are placed between the housing (6) and the journal (2). A multipart measuring arrangement is provided having at least one signal transmitter (17, 18) and at least one sensor (20, 21, 22). The measuring arrangement is placed between the pin-side end of the joint ball (3) and the pin-side end of the sealing bellows (11).Type: ApplicationFiled: October 1, 2004Publication date: March 8, 2007Inventors: Jurgen Graber, Joachim Spratte

Publication number: 20070051172Abstract: A method of determining the volume of fuel in a vehicle fuel tank comprising the steps of determining the volume of vapour/air in the fuel tank and calculating the volume of fuel in the tank based upon the determined volume of vapour/air. The volume of vapour/air is determined by the steps of closing the fuel tank, pumping air into or out of the closed volume of the fuel tank and measuring the change in pressure in the fuel tank as a function of time during said pumping to determine the volume of vapour/air in the tank.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 23, 2006Publication date: March 8, 2007Inventors: Jean-Francois Perinet, Michel Sanchez

Publication number: 20070051173Abstract: A fault-tolerant system and a method for controlling levels of a fluid in a vessel during a fluid operation, which may include draining the fluid from the vessel or filling the fluid into the vessel, are provided. A first signal indicating the first fluid level in the vessel is sensed by a primary sensor set of the system. A second signal indicating the second fluid level in the vessel is sensed by a secondary sensor set of the system. The fluid operation can be controlled using both the first signal from the primary sensor set and the second signal from the secondary sensor. Alternatively, the fluid operation can be controlled using the second signal from the secondary sensor set if the primary sensor set fails.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 24, 2004Publication date: March 8, 2007Inventor: Laila Baniahmad

Publication number: 20070051174Abstract: Method for predicting an average temperature of a conductive structural component (204) over an elongated length of the structural component. The method can include measuring (406) an electrical resistance of the structural component (204) between two locations (206, 208) spaced apart from each other. The method can also include predicting (408) an average temperature of the structural component (202) between the two locations based on the measuring step. Using the information gained in this step, a dimensional characteristic of the structural component (202) can be predicted (410) based on the average temperature.Type: ApplicationFiled: September 2, 2005Publication date: March 8, 2007Applicant: Harris CorporationInventors: David Vail, David Lenzi, Stephen Wilson
