Patent number: 7195687Abstract: A method of selectively transferring devices arrayed on a first substrate to a second substrate on which an adhesive resin layer is previously formed is provided. The method includes steps of selectively heating the adhesive resin layer on the second substrate by laser irradiation from the back surface side of the second substrate, and curing the selectively heated portions of the adhesive resin layer, thereby adhesively bonding those to be transferred of the devices to the second substrate. At this time, portions, corresponding to the devices, of the adhesive layer are heated directly or indirectly via the devices or wiring portions by laser irradiation from the back surface side of the substrate. The heated portions of the adhesive resin layer selectively exhibit the adhesive forces. The heated portions of the adhesive layer are then cured, so that only the devices to be transferred are selectively transferred to the second substrate.Type: GrantFiled: December 22, 2004Date of Patent: March 27, 2007Assignee: Sony CorporationInventors: Kunihiko Hayashi, Yoshiyuki Yanagisawa, Toshiaki Iwafuchi, Hisashi Ohba

Patent number: 7195688Abstract: A process and device for manufacturing a primary unit pack of a wafer. A laminate comprising a carrier sheet and an active substance film is cross-cut at a predetermined length, detached from the carrier sheet, guided between two packaging material webs and, conveyed to a sealing station along with the packaging material webs. The packaging material webs are sealed to form a bag that is separated from the webs. The process includes detaching the carrier sheet from the active substance film, pulling the carrier sheet forward over the predetermined length of the wafer, simultaneously guiding the active substance film, which has been detached from the carrier sheet, without mechanical stress, the front end being between the packaging material webs which are in a resting condition, and is received and fixed by packaging material webs and transversely cut to form a wafer.Type: GrantFiled: September 6, 2003Date of Patent: March 27, 2007Assignee: LTS Lohmann Therapie-Systeme AGInventors: Wolfgang Schäfer, Ronald Hackbarth, Hans-Dieter Sahm

Patent number: 7195690Abstract: Fabricating roll-good fuel cell material involves laminating first and second bonding material webs having spaced apart windows to first and second surfaces of a fuel cell membrane web. First and second active regions of the membrane web are positioned within the respective bonding material windows. Third and fourth gasket material webs having spaced apart windows are respectively laminated to the bonding material on the first and second membrane web surfaces. The bonding material windows align with the respective gasket material windows so that at least some of the bonding material extends within the respective gasket material windows. Fluid transport layer (FTL) material portions cut from fifth and sixth FTL material webs are laminated to the respective first and second active regions. The FTL material portions are positioned within respective gasket material windows and contact the bonding material extending within the respective gasket material windows.Type: GrantFiled: May 28, 2003Date of Patent: March 27, 2007Assignee: 3M Innovative Properties CompanyInventors: David Robert Mekala, Donald George Peterson, Dennis Earl Ferguson, Duane Douglas Fansler

Patent number: 7195691Abstract: An optical disc manufacturing method suppresses thickness variation in intermediate layers disposed between any two data recording layers to achieve an intermediate layer of uniform thickness. A substrate having a center hole and data recording layer is first prepared. This center hole is then plugged with a capping member and a resin material is dripped from above the center hole while spinning the substrate around its center hole to coat the data recording layer with the resin by a spin coating method. The capping member is then removed. Then, a stamper having a groove or lands and pits on its surface is prepared. The groove or lands and pits side of the stamper is then pressed into the resin material on the substrate, and the resin is then cured to form an intermediate layer. The stamper is then separated from the substrate to leave a data recording layer in the surface of the intermediate layer with a groove or land-and-pit pattern corresponding to the groove or lands and pits in the stamper.Type: GrantFiled: June 30, 2003Date of Patent: March 27, 2007Assignee: Matsushita Electric Industrial Co., Ltd.Inventors: Kazuya Hisada, Eiji Ohno, Kazuhiro Hayashi

Patent number: 7195693Abstract: In many processes used in fabricating semiconductors the wafer is seated on the top surface of a pedestal and heated in a high energy process step, such as plasma etching. The pedestal, chuck or platen may be cooling but the wafer gradually heats until the process can no longer continue. Where large, e.g. 300 mm diameter, wafers are being processed the temperature level across the wafer is difficult to maintain substantially constant. In this system and method the lateral temperature distribution is equalized by a heat sink structure in a chamber immediately under the wafer support on top of the pedestal. A number of spatially distributed wicking posts extend downwardly from a layer of wicking material across the top of the chamber, into a pool of a vaporizable liquid. At hot spots, vaporized liquid is generated and transported to adjacent condensation posts extending up from the liquid. The system thus passively extracts heat to equalize temperatures while recirculating liquid and assuring adequate supply.Type: GrantFiled: June 4, 2003Date of Patent: March 27, 2007Assignee: Advanced Thermal SciencesInventor: Kenneth W.
