  • Patent number: 7198386
Abstract: The present invention is designed to overcome the problems with MCPCB technology, which includes conductive solid body, typically copper or aluminum, typically having rods extending therefrom. This conductive solid body is fastened in place by a body constructed of typically plastic/Delrin® that the copper rods may be pressed or installed into. This body may be conductive or non-conductive. Each LED is mounted to a standard printed circuit board (PCB) or flexible circuit board that contains through holes large enough to fit the metal bottom of the LED through the hole far enough for the LED to make contact with the face of the solid body. Typically, board thickness of 0.032? or less is required for this to work effectively. The LED is glued to the face solid body via a thermally conductive, electrically neutral adhesive. The LED may also be adhered via thermal tape, thermal pad, or held against the solid body via its solder joints where no bonding of the LED is required.

  • Patent number: 7198392
Abstract: An adjuster to be used with numerous applications including the adjusting of a headlamp reflector of a headlamp assembly includes a clutch mechanism that prevents over-driving and over-traveling of the adjuster output shaft during an overload condition. The adjuster includes generally an output shaft, drive gear, spring, and a driven gear that allow the headlamp adjuster to clutch. The driven gear is held in an engaged position with the drive gear by the spring force of the spring. In a high torque condition, such as when the output shaft encounters a high load, the driven gear will disengage from the drive gear overcoming the spring force of the spring. In this position, the headlamp adjuster will clutch, thereby preventing the over-driving and over-traveling of the output shaft.

Abstract: A retainer for holding bearings within a shaft bearing has C-shaped pockets for holding the bearings. Between the pockets are connecting portions, which are close to the openings of the pockets. The rear sides of adjacent pockets and the rear side of the connecting portion for the adjacent pockets form a concave site that is deeply gouged into the retainer. The bottom of the concave site is closer to the openings than the bottom of the pockets, thereby allowing base oil from grease in the concave site to better migrate onto the bearings and so lubricate the shaft bearing.

Abstract: An optical fiber assembly includes: a component defining at least one inlet for optical fibers, an adapter, an optical fiber cable connected to the adapter, and a push-fit connector. The component includes a through-hole for passage of the optical fibers and an associated mating region to engage the push-fit connector. The optical fiber cable connected to the adapter defines a connection region with a predetermined cross-sectional shape for mating with the push-fit connector. The push-fit connector includes a first end, a second end, and a through-passage extending between the first and second ends. The first end is push-fit connected with the mating region. The second end is push-fit connected to the connection region. Optical fibers from the optical fiber cable can be directed through the push-fit connector and the through-hole. A method of installing optical fibers in a joint housing is also disclosed.

Abstract: A parallel optical subassembly module structure comprises an opto-electronic device array, a base with a reflecting slope, and a micro-lens array plate with an inclined plane provided with a specific angle. The optical signal emitted from the opto-electronic device array reflects by the reflecting slope and is incident into the inclined plane of the micro-lens array plate with the specific angle. The inclined plane rectifies the optical signal to output in horizontal direction. Then the optical signal couples with the external fibers through each micro lens of the micro-lens array. The pathway of receiving the optical signal is the same as described above, but in reverse direction.

Abstract: The present invention provides an optical receptacle that reduces the fluctuation of the optical coupling efficiency with the optical plug. The optical receptacle of the invention comprises a stub with a filler therein and a sleeve assembly to receive the optical plug. The stub with a cylindrical shape has an opening in the side where the optical plug is to be in contact thereto and a bore in the other side. The diameter of the opening is comparable to that of the core of the external fiber, while the diameter of the bore is greater than that of the opening. The filler exposes in this opening to couple with the external optical fiber. Thus, the optical coupling efficiency between the filler and the external fiber may enhance and the fluctuation thereof due to the insertion/extraction of the optical plug can be reduced.
