Abstract: A bonding mechanism of corrugated paper making machine includes an endless loop-like band and an adjusting mechanism for adjusting position and configuration of the band with respect to a surface sheet of the corrugated paper pasted on a core sheet. The adjustment performed by the adjusting mechanism changes an area of surface contact between the band and the surface sheet of the corrugated paper and thus changing a pressurizing area between the surface sheet and the core sheet. The surface contact between the band and the surface sheet enhances bonding operation of the surface sheet to the core sheet and increases the time when a pressure is applied in the pressurizing area to bond the surface sheet and the core sheet together. The surface contact eliminates the potential damage to the surface sheet caused by application of concentrated force at a single contact point on the surface sheet and increases the manufacturing efficiency of the corrugated paper.

Abstract: When driving or parking, the Elastic Blind prevents the direct sun rays to penetrate the car windows. Just by stretching the blind to cover desired areas, intense, harmful UV rays are blocked from damaging passenger's skin or eyes, and indoor is retained cool and refreshing in midst of hottest heat waves. Furthermore, during cold weather, the Elastic Blind effectively cuts off cold waves from entering inside and keeps indoor warm. The compact-designed blind container incorporates tape spring or roller spring or motor that it automatically rolls the blind into the container once the tension stretching the blind is removed.

Abstract: A method of casting a metal ingot with a microstructure that facilitates further working, such as hot and cold rolling. The metal is cast in a direct chill casting mold, or the equivalent, that directs a spray of coolant liquid onto the outer surface of the ingot to achieve rapid cooling. The coolant is removed from the surface at a location where the emerging embryonic ingot is still not completely solid, such that the latent heat of solidification and the sensible heat of the molten core raises the temperature of the adjacent solid shell to a convergence temperature that is above a transition temperature for in-situ homogenization of the metal. A further conventional homogenization step is then not required. The invention also relates to the heat-treatment of such ingots prior to hot working.

The apparatus further includes a sleeve disposed within the housing, with the sleeve being constructed of a non-magnetic conduction material. A magnet is disposed within the sleeve, with the magnet having a north pole and a south pole. The apparatus further includes a container disposed within the sleeve, the container having a second wall. In the most preferred embodiment, the first wall defines a first pathway for magnetic lines of flux for the north pole of the magnet and wherein the second wall defines a second pathway for magnetic lines of flux for the south pole of the magnet so that a toroidal magnetic field is formed about the distal end of the sleeve. A method of retrieving a metal object within a well bore is also disclosed.

Abstract: Systems and methods for operating a circulation valve such that the valve will automatically close without the need for a ball to be dropped or other intervention from the surface. The circulation valve is autonomous and will preferably be actuated from an open to a closed position by a motive force such as a power screw. The valve includes an actuator that causes the valve to close in response to particular conditions, such as the passing of a predetermined amount of time, or wellbore conditions, such as pressure, temperature or position.

Abstract: An improved cone and integral slip assembly is described for use in the anchoring assembly of a downhole tool, such as a bridge plug, frac plug, or cement retainer. The cone may include external fins that are integral to and run axially along the cone. The integral slip assembly includes at least one axial slot, which facilitates subsequent breaking up of the integral slip assembly into individual slip segments. Each slip segment may include a channel that is adapted to mate with an external fin of the cone. As the integral slip assembly traverses the cone, the channels of the slip segments ride on the fins encouraging the integral slip assembly to break apart along the slots into the slip segments. The spacing of the fins and corresponding channels in the slip segments are positioned such to ensure that the slip segments are advantageously positioned around the cone thus, locating the packing element of the plug in the center of the wellbore.

Abstract: An adjustable stand includes a stable base, an upright portion upending from the base, and a platform adjustably locked in the base. The platform height preferably may be adjusted continuously rather than incrementally for precise and accurate positioning of a horse hoof or other animate or inanimate object. One platform includes a diverging U-shaped cradle, with a firm but cushioning/shock-absorbing material on its top side for elevating the supported object and absorbing the concussion of the work being performed on the object. Preferably, the firm but cushioning material is a flexible strap slung across the cradle and spaced above the surface of the cradle at its center region. The preferred plastic base and continuous adjustability of the platform provide a quiet, substantially non-metallic, and non-intimidating stand that tends not to frighten horses or other animals.

Abstract: Improvements to a portable fire extinguisher where the improvements relate to a system where the owner of the extinguisher can service and maintain their fire protection. Systems in place today require the servicing of a third party. The service companies (third parties) are charged with maintaining the system. Further Improvements include an anti-bridging mechanism that is articulated from the exterior of the chamber to fluff, mix or stir the powder within the chamber to keep it in a liquefied state. An external pressurized canister allows easier servicing or replacement of the pressurized canister as well as the ability to maintain the chamber in an un-pressurized condition, allowing non-HASMAT shipping. These features extend the service intervals while maintaining the fire extinguisher in a ready condition. The fire extinguisher is construction of components that are interchangeable and provide equal operation for left and right handed people.

Abstract: The invention refers to an extensible bar for tractors, comprised by a bar 1 and a sleeve 2 that slide over one another and are kept together by a pin 9 and including a locking system 3. The locking system is comprised by a latch 7 that prevents sliding movement between the sleeve 2 and the bar 1 when it is positioned within the housings of the bar and sleeve when they are aligned, by means of the actuation of a wire spring 6. The assembly is unlocked when the latch 7 is manually pulled out of the housings by means of a pull handle 8 directly attached to the latch. The locking system can be blocked to facilitate the detachment of the accessory, by turning the latch 7 about the wire spring 6, to prevent the latch 7 from engaging the housing. All these three functions: locking, unlocking and blocking of the system are performed by an assembly of only three parts 6, 7 and 8 of low production cost.

Abstract: An auger planter for forming small holes in the earth for the planting of flower bulbs, plant seedlings and plants, and for the insertion of termite monitors and baits. The auger includes a central shaft and a single helical flighting having its leading edge configured to have a sickle blade shape with a cutting edge. The opposite end of the flighting has a portion which is directed in an essentially vertical orientation proximating an alignment parallelling the axis of shaft. This upward bend of the end of the flighting portion facilitates keeping the dirt from being flung in a substantial wide pattern away from the hole. That is, it keeps the flung dirt relatively close to the perimeter of the bored hole.

Abstract: The needs described above are in large part addressed by the crimp hub for an anastomosis device, or tissue approximating device, of the present invention. The tissue approximating device generally includes the components of a plurality of tissue engaging tines, an actuator, a tine deflector, and a hub. The tissue engaging tines extends through the deflector and into the hub. To maintain the tines within the hub, the external circumference of the hub is crimped, preferably at least two times, to create a pull strength between the tines and hub of at least 4 lbs. The actuator is preferably an actuator wire and is secured to the external surface of the hub through the same crimping motion that secures the tines. The crimping of the actuator to the hub preferably creates a pull strength between the actuator and the hub of at least 8 lbs.
