  • Patent number: 7223054
Abstract: A spiral spline groove machine apparatus for manufacturing a sealed spiral spline pipe connection by machining spiral grooves into the bell and spigot end of a length of pipe. A rotating cutter is adapted to cut a spiral groove in the inside of the bell of the pipe or machine the recessed external groove on the male end of the pipe. The cutter is adapted to float on the surface contour of the pipe to allow for variations in the wall thickness of the pipe and provide a consistent depth for the cut in the wall of the pipe without regard to the symmetry of the circular cross section of the pipe. An exit port machining device is also disclose to cut an exit port connected to the inside spiral groove on the bell end of the pipe. Another unique aspect of the invention is the use of a rotational to linear converter using a lead screw to move an entire rotating assembly having the motor output fixed directly to the cutter without an expansion joint.

  • Patent number: 7223055
Abstract: A support structure or sleeve for the spindle of a machine tool consists of a tubular casing, preferably made of sheet steel with a high modulus of elasticity, in contact with a layer of agglomerate obtained by casting inside the casing a mixture formed by a granulate of stone and/or ceramic and/or expanded clay material as well as a synthetic resin of the hardening type, which is subject to cross-linking. The structure thus obtained combines a high vibration damping factor with an excellent mechanical strength and a reduced weight. The structure may also comprise a second casing which is located inside the layer of agglomerate and in contact therewith. The mass of agglomerate may also have, embedded in it, pipes for circulation of a cooling fluid in order to dispose of the heat produced by the spindle during operation.

  • Patent number: 7223056
Abstract: A blind rivet nut has a head configured as an annular flange and a shank comprising a head end, a foot end and a cylindrical bore closed at the foot end of the shank and extending from the head end to the foot end in lengthwise direction, and a second bore segment near the head end whose diameter is greater than the diameter of the first bore segment. The wall surrounding the second bore segment forms a plastically deformable region of the shank, and has an outer surface with the shape of a regular polygonal, in particular hexagonal, prism. To achieve a uniform and tightly sealing contact of the flange with the part accommodating the blind rivet nut, the wall thickness of the deformable region in the thinnest places is 4% to 6% of the least outside diameter of the deformable region.

  • Patent number: 7223075
Abstract: A turbine wheel for driving rapidly rotating tools, in the form of a circular disk or ring, configured for mounting so as to be rotatable about an axis. Disposed thereon in circular formation are turbine blades having axially parallel front and back faces curved in the radial direction. The front face has a lesser radius of curvature (R3, R4), at least in portions, than the back face. This feature allows the turbine wheel to fit into the conventional turbine housings without relatively major redesign and with, at most, slight modifications. The turbine wheel can achieve higher torque than previous turbine wheels at the required high rotational speeds. Thus, a greater quantity of material can be applied to the spraying dome or a spraying disk without a detrimental braking. Surfaces to be sprayed can be provided with a uniform coat of material in shorter time.

  • Patent number: 7223087
Abstract: A mold for relatively uniform heating and molding of a work material to form a workpiece using a microwave oven, includes upper and lower mold members and a sidewall mold member. The mold members are formed from materials selected to have an approximately equal effective thermosensitivity. The effective thermosensitivity of work material is its dissipation factor divided by the product of its dielectric constant, density and specific heat. The effective thermosensitivity of the material of mold layer of each mold member is its dissipation factor divided by the product of its dielectric constant, density, and specific heat and multiplied by the fraction of the mass of its mold layer divided by the total mass of this mold member. A metal sleeve is formed on an inner surface of the sidewall mold member with microwave absorbing material formed on the outside thereof and inner surfaces of the end mold members may also be coated with metal or other highly thermally conductive and wear resistant material.

Abstract: Infinitely adjustable calibrating shell includes a central piece formed by strips or bands which are hingedly connected to each other and intersect like an extendable lattice that is formed into a shell. Preferably, the ends of the strips are movably connected to annular heads. The inner diameter of the central piece which is decisive for the calibrating process, can be modified by axially changing the distance between the annular heads, the cross section of the central piece having a circular shape in each axial position. The infinitely adjustable calibrating shell is suitable for continuous extruded plastic parts, in particular plastic pipes.

Abstract: A screw shaft for driving an injection screw driving body in a motor-driven injection device is coupled to a motor shaft of an electric motor in engagement of splines. A spline for the motor shaft engaging with a spline disposed at the outer periphery at a shaft end of the screw shaft is fitted into a recess formed inside of a motor shaft end. A flange formed around the spline is clamped at end face of the motor shaft via a bolt, and is formed at the inner periphery of a bearing sleeve detachably mounted to the motor shaft. An annular groove is formed at the inner periphery of an opening of the bearing sleeve for the side of the screw shaft. A ring member for air-tightly sealing a clearance formed between the screw shaft and the bearing sleeve is fitted into the annular groove. The spline for the motor shaft engaging with the spline on the screw shaft is disposed at the inner periphery of the bearing sleeve independent of the motor shaft, thus achieving the coupling via the respective splines of the motors.

Abstract: A fluteless endodontic file is provided, formed from a tapered shaft of material having a prismatic shape generally defined by three or more side surfaces and three or more interposed corners. A plurality of notches are cut into one or more corners defining cutting surfaces, points and/or edges. The notched cutting surfaces are formed such that the file, when rotated and/or reciprocated within a root canal, effectively cuts/debrides hard tissue (known in the art as dentin) as well as soft tissue, thus, forming an optimal canal shape. The cutting surfaces are also preferably formed at an angle to the centerline of the instrument to provide optimal cutting efficiency and material removal. The fluteless file design exhibits increased efficacy, with less tendency to bind and break within the root canal and also significantly reduces manufacturing and capital equipment costs.
