  • Patent number: RE39673
Abstract: A method of establishing a supplemental channel (SCH) to provide burst timing for high-speed data transmission in a mobile communication system is disclosed. In the SCH establishing method, a source base station transceiver determines that a traffic burst exists and sends a target base station transceiver a burst request message. The burst request message includes forward and reverse burst timing information and channel use time information, which is determined in consideration of a discontinuous transmission (DTX) mode, in order to reserve necessary resources, when a large amount of high rate data is to be transmitted. Then, the target base station transceiver sends the source base station transceiver a burst response message including information about resources committed to the traffic burst.

  • Patent number: 7225482
Abstract: A hoist pivotally connecting mast 1 to lifting arm 2, by a mechanism comprising a link 5 pivoting about a fixed pivot 8 on the mast 1 and a moving pivot 6 on the lifting arm 2. A restraining link 9 between a pivot 10 on the mast 1 and actuator attachment point 11 on the lifting arm 2 restricts the movement of link 5. The second link 9 acts as a stabilizer allowing the pivot 11 on the lifting arm 2 to move only through a set arc, determined by the length of the link 9 and the position of the pivot 10 on the mast 1. With the moving pivot according to the invention, the spreader bar attachment point 7 has a greater traveling distance than if it were simply pivoted about pivot 8 as with conventional hoists.

  • Patent number: 7225486
Abstract: A therapeutic seat cushion for supporting a person remaining in a sitting position for a prolonged period of time, wherein the cushion is a generally rectangular body having a hollow interior with a plurality of generally radially extending partitions extending across the interior of the body, dividing it into a plurality of individual chambers spaced sequentially around the body. Apparatus is connected with the chambers to sequentially expand and contract them in an alternating pattern so that some of the chambers are expanded to contact and support the person while other chambers are contracted to relieve the pressure exerted against the person by the other chambers, whereby the formation of pressure sores and other harmful effects are avoided by periodically and temporarily relieving pressure exerted by the chambers against different areas of the person.
