Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing a component by reshaping a coated plate consisting of tempering steel, said plate being austenitized before the reshaping by means of a first heat treatment, followed by the growth of the layer thickness. The aim of the invention is to optimize the process and to prevent the production of scrap plates caused by interruptions to the process. To this end, after being rapidly cooled, the heat-treated plate is temporarily stored, and is briefly heated again to the austenitization temperature, directly before being reshaped to form the component. Once the structure has been modified, the plate is reshaped and hardened. Preferably, the plate is heated a second time by induction.

Thermomechanical training includes removeably securing an indenter to a surface of the shape memory alloy in its martensite phase, so that an indent is formed in the surface. The shape memory alloy is then heated to its austenite phase while the indenter is secured thereto. The shape memory alloy is then quenched to its martensite phase while the indenter is secured thereto. After thermomechanical training, the shape memory alloy surface exhibits a first indent depth when in its martensite phase, and a second, different indent depth when in its austenite phase. Abstract: Disclosed herein is a method by which a material may be placed onto a moving web in a transverse orientation. At least two assemblies, which carry either a first and a second web or a single web, periodically overlap each other in an alternating fashion such that a material may be placed upon their respective carried webs in a transverse manner. The first and second assemblies translate in a direction of web movement in order to modify the velocity of the web carried upon the assembly. Thus, with the velocities of the assemblies capable of being varied, the material may be placed in a transverse manner upon the moving web along with various other orientations.

Abstract: A method for minimizing measuring spot size and noise during film thickness measurement is provided. The method initiates with locating a first eddy current sensor directed toward a first surface associated with a conductive film. The method includes locating a second eddy current sensor directed toward a second surface associated with the conductive film. The first and second eddy current sensors may share a common axis or be offset from each other. The method further includes alternating power supplied to the first eddy current sensor and the second eddy current sensor, such that the first eddy current sensor and the second eddy current sensor are powered one at a time. In one aspect of the invention, a delay time is incorporated between switching power between the first eddy current sensor and the second eddy current sensor. The method also includes calculating the film thickness measurement based on a combination of signals from the first eddy current sensor and the second eddy current sensor.
