Abstract: An integrally molded glide cover has a top and a base that interlock together to surround and encapsulate the lower portion of an existing furniture glide. A rim protrudes downwardly from the bottom of the base and surrounds a recessed bottom surface for receiving an insert that is adapted for sliding on floors without damaging the floor surface. In one embodiment, the insert is formed of a felt material. The top is provided with a central opening and radial slot to allow the top to be slipped around an interconnecting ball joint of the glide and into seated position on the crown of the lower glide portion. A hinge allows the base to close over the bottom of the glide and into direct alignment with locking prongs on the top for interlocked attachment of the base to the top using one hand and no tools. When interlocked, the top and base provide a tamper-proof permanent attachment that presents a low profile appearance closely resembling the exterior configuration of the encapsulated lower glide portion.

In the mobile device, a rotation portion 14 slides and rotates on a base portion 10, so as to be inclined to the base portion 10. For this reason, the rotation portion 14 is connected to the base portion by means of the hinge assembly 20 so as to slide and rotate on the base portion 10. The rotation portion 14 slides on the base portion by a predetermined distance, and then rotates to be inclined at a desired angle with respect to the base portion 10. The rotation portion 14 easily rotates with respect to the base portion of the mobile device, so that the status of the mobile device can be easily converted. Further, when the status of the mobile device is converted, the front, rear, left and right of a display screen is not changed. As a result, the mobile device should not have a structure of changing a display direction of the display screen.

Abstract: When crimping suspensions to carriage arms using a metal ball by applying ultrasonic vibration to a crimping tool, the suspensions can be crimped to the carriage arms without causing deformation to the suspensions and the like. A method of assembling a carriage assembly aligns attachment holes provided in front ends of carriage arms and crimping portions provided on suspensions to set the suspensions on the carriage arms and then presses a ball through crimping holes provided in the crimping portions while applying ultrasonic vibration to the crimping tool to crimp the suspensions to the carriage arms. When doing so, a ball, such as a ball whose surface has been subjected to a dimpling process, for which a load that acts on the ball when the ball passes through the crimping holes is low compared to a spherical ball is used to crimp the suspensions to the carriage arms.

Abstract: An installation tool for use with a liner sleeve attachment, such as a nutplate assembly for mounting onto a substrate blind side as disclosed in U.S. Pat. No. 5,704,747. The installation tool includes retractable grip jaws for gripping and pulling a fixture pin protruding from the attachment, for initially advancing a tapered tool nose piece into deforming engagement with an attachment liner sleeve leading end to flare and/or expand the liner sleeve to lock the liner sleeve onto the substrate. Continued pulling action exerts a sufficient force to collapse a fixture pin head and thereby permit pull-removal of the fixture pin from the attachment. The nose piece is carried by a retractable inner housing normally retained in an advanced position for deforming the liner sleeve, and thereafter movable to a retracted position spaced from the liner sleeve to accommodate substantially unobstructed fixture pin separation from the attachment.

Abstract: A circuit board structure and method for fabricating the same are proposed. A core board with a plurality of openings formed therein is provided. Conductive columns are formed in the openings of the core board. Dielectric layers are formed on surfaces of the core board respectively and a plurality of openings are formed in the dielectric layers corresponding in position to the conductive columns in the core board. Circuit layers are formed on surfaces of the dielectric layers, and conductive structures electrically connected to the conductive columns are formed in the openings of the dielectric layers. Thereby, the circuit layers are electrically connected together through the conductive columns in the core board. Therefore, the present invention eliminates the need for electrically conductive pads and increases the layout space. The present invention can be applied in circuit boards with high layout density requirement.

Abstract: A method for electronically identifying a coded part includes the step of locating a machine-readable area relief pattern formed with a surface of the part. The relief pattern includes separate and distinct code elements extending along both x and y axes. Each code element has a profile dimension extending along a z-axis relative to a native surface of the part. A region of interest containing the area relief pattern is then measured along the x, y, and z axes. The area relief pattern is then extracted from the measured region of interest. The area relief pattern is then decoded to extract part information encoded in the relief pattern.

Abstract: The present invention is a nail clipper including an incorporated nail arrestor that prevents the unconstrained ejection and propulsion of cut nail clippings. The nail clipper includes two steel plates connected at one end and with cutting edges at an opposing end, and an operating lever, which moves the cutting edges of the plates together. A pivot pin is inserted through bores in both first and second plates, at a spaced distance behind the cutting edges. A grommet encircles the portion of the pin between the plates and maintains a spaced distance between the plates to form an opening for receiving a nail. The space between the foam and the topside of the second plate forms a receptacle for receiving nail clippings after they fall downwards from the cutting edges. The clippings may be emptied directly into a trash bin by tilting the nail clipper sideways.

A spring biased blade lock plunger extends through the pivot slot, and has a lock portion that fits in the lock openings to secure the blade in closed and open positions. The plunger is axially shiftable to position a release portion in the pivot slot, permitting the blade to pivot.
