Abstract: The opening of vehicle doors often leads to collisions with stationary obstacles that are not visible to the occupants or with moving obstacles that approach the vehicle without being noticed. Thus to avoid collisions when vehicle doors are opened, the aim of the invention is to take any modifications to the environmental situation of the vehicle as a result of a movement of the vehicle and the detected objects into consideration. This allows a collision of the vehicle doors with the objects to be reliably avoided. To achieve this, in a first step the portable trajectory of a vehicle is determnined. In an additional step, the objects in the vicinity of the vehicle are detected and probable trajectories of said detected objects are determined. Respective probability ranges are then defined both for the vehicle and the pivoting zone of the vehicle doors and for the detected objects.

The invention comprises: a SoC (System-on-Chip), a memory device, and a TFT-LCD display panel. The SoC communicates with the vehicle's host processor to retrieve in-vehicle information. The flash ROM is utilized for the storage of the main SoC program and for the storage of the to-be-displayed icons and character fonts. Lastly, the TFT-LCD display panel is connected with the SoC to display all intended in-vehicle information retrieved from the vehicle's host processor.

Abstract: A valve device includes a metal tube fixed to a tire rim of a vehicle. A valve is mounted in an end of an air passageway of the metal tube. A transmitter includes two switches respectively connected to two contact members fixed on the metal tube. A Bourdon tube includes a fixed end in communication with the air passageway of the metal tube and a movable end. When a tire pressure of the tire is in a normal range, the movable end of the Bourdon tube is between the contact members, leading to an open circuit. When the tire pressure is too high or too low, the movable end of the Bourdon tube is in contact with one of the contact members. One of the switches is turned on to activate the transmitter to send a signal for reminding the driver of the abnormal tire pressure.

Abstract: A method for accessing an electronic circuit in an enclosure using near field induction is disclosed. The method involves attaching at least one local access port connector with an external transformer core partition to a near field induction port on an external non-conductive surface of a panel of the enclosure and generating at least one inductive field between the external transformer core partition and an internal transformer core partition. Without a direct electrical connection, the method provides for communicating with the electronic circuit through the at least one local access port connector of the panel using the at least one inductive field.

Abstract: The invention provides an approach for automatic and dynamic mapping of zone boundaries for position-determination systems. The system of the present invention utilizes beacons (“position determining devices”) to identify the boundaries and limits of device area coverage (“zone”) for tracking objects with a position-determination system. Beacons, used both to identify zone boundaries and to tag assets to be tracked, are distributed within the zone. The beacon locations are then detected and displayed in the visualization application. Three or more beacons may be linked together, either manually or automatically, to establish a detection zone. Using beacons to establish detection zone boundaries eliminates guesswork and its associated errors, and produces a zone boundary that is actually valid.

Abstract: A computer implemented method, apparatus, and computer usable program code to generate proximity-based task alerts in a mobile computing device. A geographic location is linked to a set of tasks in a task list. A user selects a proximity to the geographic location for the alarm to form a selected proximity. A determination is made as to whether the mobile computing device is within the selected proximity. A proximity task-reminder alarm is triggered in response to making a determination that the mobile computing device is within the selected proximity.

Abstract: Methods and systems for electronically tracking the progress of teams as they cover an assigned geographic area are described herein. A server computer establishes a coverage area, divides the coverage area into a plurality of regions, and assigns each region to a team. Each team carries a tracking device capable of autonomously determining its present location without user assistance, thus allowing the team to focus on the assigned task, such as searching for a missing person, plowing a field, paving a road, etc. The server monitors the location of each tracking device as each team covers its assigned region, and updates on a visually displayed geographic map a historical path associated with each tracking device based on the monitored location of each tracking device. In this manner, users can quickly view the visual depiction of the historical to determine as yet uncovered areas.
