Patent number: 7258313Abstract: A device for leveling an object on uneven or sloping floors. The device is comprised of a housing with a substantially hollow portion having a worm gear, a driven gear, and an elevation shaft with threads on at least a portion of the shaft's external surface. The worm gear operably engages the driven gear, which in turn operably engages the elevation shaft. When the worm gear is rotated in opposite directions, concomitant rotations of the driven gear cause the elevation shaft to move axially up or down, thereby providing leveling motions to an object to which the device is attached. A pad may be attached to one end of the elevation to prevent scratching the surface on which the object rests. The hollow portion of the housing is configured to provide at least one load-bearing surface such that no separate bearings are required with the device.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2004Date of Patent: August 21, 2007Assignee: Sturm, Ruger & Company, Inc.Inventor: Edward Gabriel

Patent number: 7258315Abstract: A holder for planar material includes a first panel and a second panel hingedly connected to the first panel. A prong is secured to the first panel and extends in a direction approximately normal thereto. The prong has a pointed tip. An aperture is defined in the second panel. The pointed tip pierces an associated planar material located between the panels such that the prong of the first panel can pass through the associated planar material and enter the aperture of the second panel when the first panel overlies a portion of the second panel, thereby holding the associated planar material between the first and second panels. A clip is connected to at least one of the first and second panels. The clip allows the holder to be mounted to an associated support.Type: GrantFiled: January 29, 2004Date of Patent: August 21, 2007Assignee: Fasteners For Retail, Inc.Inventor: Stephen D. Wamsley

Patent number: 7258316Abstract: An expansible anchor is adapted for inserting into a hole formed with a structure. The anchor includes a load cable and a first chock attached to an end of the load cable. A second chock resides adjacent to the first chock, and is adapted for movement between an anchor-contracting position and an anchor-expanding position. In the anchor-contracting position, the anchor is readily inserted into and removed from the hole of the structure. In the anchor-expanding position, the anchor is locked inside the hole of the structure. A chock-release column bears against at least one of the first and second chocks and has an enlarged head adapted for locating outside of the hole. The enlarged head defines a striking surface adapted for receiving a sudden force. This force is transferred through the chock-release column to the first or second chocks, such that the second chock is movable from the anchor-expanding position to the anchor-contracting position to thereby dislodge the anchor from the hole of the structure.Type: GrantFiled: March 1, 2005Date of Patent: August 21, 2007Inventor: Eric W. Patent number: 7258317Abstract: A pull-out display shelf assembly having spaced-apart support structures mounted on gondola uprights, for example, and supporting a display shelf for movement between fully retracted and extended positions, with locking means for securing the shelf structure in any set position. The locking mechanism includes vertically rotatable square locking bars freely movable in a locking track when aligned therewith, and having locking engagement with the track when rotated out of alignment with the track. Simplified and improved support structures are formed of heavy gauge sheet metal, bent into an L-shaped configuration for strength and rigidity and formed to provide elongated locking slots in horizontal bottom panels of the L-shaped supports. Component parts are minimized and rigidity and locking action are improved. Stabilizing tabs at the inner ends of the support brackets minimize lateral flexing of the brackets when the shelf is released for movement relative to the support brackets.Type: GrantFiled: April 22, 2004Date of Patent: August 21, 2007Assignee: Trion Industries, Inc.Inventor: Thomas O. Patent number: 7258333Abstract: An improved bar clamp in which the first jaw assembly consists of a handle assembly or setting unit, on a slide bar inside of an independently mounted first jaw. A finger lever is pivotably attached to the setting unit and at its upper end pivotably attached to the first jaw. A braking lever is included in the first jaw, and a driving lever in the setting unit. Upon first movement of the finger lever a spring forces the driving lever into firm contact with the slide bar, preventing movement of the first jaw away from the second jaw. The finger lever has no further contact with the driving lever, but upon further movement, acts indirectly on the driving lever via the handle assembly to draw the slide bar and the second jaw towards the first jaw. Releasing the finger lever draws the handle unit forward for the next cycle. Release of the braking lever in the first jaw allows movement away from the second jaw.Type: GrantFiled: February 3, 2005Date of Patent: August 21, 2007Inventor: Harold William Hobday

Patent number: 7258335Abstract: Drag from media sensor (80) of a printer is eliminated by it being pivoted through a slip connection off of pivoted media feed system (19) to briefly contact papers. The pivoted media feed is then moved in reverse a limited amount at which a rotatably biased member (94) moves ledge (94a) of the member to face abutment surface (92a) of the media sensor. Media feed system 19 is then moved back to drive media while the media sensor is blocked from movement and the slip connection simply slips. After the media is fed, the media feed system is moved away a longer amount while the media sensor is blocked against for the same movement by an abutment (110) in the printer. The media feed system after the longer movement moves a lever (94f) of the biased member and rotates the ledge to free the media sensor to again move to the media.Type: GrantFiled: August 24, 2004Date of Patent: August 21, 2007Assignee: Lexmark International, Inc.Inventors: Kevin Matthew Johnson, Michael William Lawrence, Bryan Christopher Scharf

Patent number: 7258355Abstract: A vehicular rear suspension system includes an upper arm, a lower arm, and a control arm, each of which is connected to a knuckle. A straight line passing through a ball joint and a rubber bushing joint intersects the road surface at an intersection point that is positioned behind a ground contact point of the rear wheel in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body. The ball joint connects the upper arm to the knuckle, and the rubber bushing joint connects the lower arm to the knuckle. Longitudinal elastic coefficients of the three arms are set in a predetermined relationship. Therefore, the intersection point at which an elastic kingpin intersects the road surface is positioned without fail behind a point of action of a lateral force when turning in the longitudinal direction of the vehicle body to achieve a lateral force toe-in and enhanced steering stability of the vehicle.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 2005Date of Patent: August 21, 2007Assignee: Honda Motor Co., Ltd.Inventor: Hidetoshi Amano

Patent number: 7258358Abstract: A bicycle seat post fixing structure includes a tubular attachment member and a tightening member. The tubular attachment member is configured to be fixed to the frame. The tubular attachment member includes a first threaded component and a first inner peripheral surface configured to receive the seat post. The tubular tightening member includes a second threaded component that mates with the first threaded component and a second inner peripheral surface configured to receive the seat post. One of the first and second threaded components is a female threaded component and the other of the first and second threaded components is a male threaded component having at least one slit formed therein. At least one of the male and female threaded components has tapered threads such that rotation of the tightening member in a tightening direction squeezes the male threaded component to hold the seat post.Type: GrantFiled: August 22, 2005Date of Patent: August 21, 2007Assignee: Shimano Inc.Inventor: Seiji Fukui
