Patent number: 7258452Abstract: There is disclosed a projection optical system which is capable of moving a projected image within a predetermined region (effective projection region). The projection optical system, which projects an image of an object surface in the effective projection region of a predetermined image surface comprises two or more optical systems, among which a first optical system on the object surface side comprises a zoom portion which zooms the projected image. The projection optical system further comprises one or more rotatable members which rotate around the position of an exit pupil of the first optical system or its vicinity. In addition, by rotating the one or more rotatable members, the projected image is moved within the effective projection region.Type: GrantFiled: October 14, 2004Date of Patent: August 21, 2007Assignee: Canon Kabushiki KaishaInventors: Koshi Hatakeyama, Tsunefumi Tanaka

Patent number: 7258454Abstract: The present invention provides a laminated glass for vehicles exerting the functions that are difficult to be made compatible in combinations such as (1) a shade band in an interlayer and an optical device such as a CCD camera, (2) a heat shielding interlayer and an optical device, and (3) a heat shielding interlayer and a combiner. In this laminated glass for vehicles, the interlayer includes a first region and a second region that is either enclosed by the first region or formed by partially recessing an edge portion of the first region. The first region is provided with a light reducing function that imparts a light transmittance loss at least of visible light, and in the second region, the interlayer has a light transmittance loss of visible light that is smaller than that in the first region.Type: GrantFiled: January 10, 2003Date of Patent: August 21, 2007Assignee: Nippon Sheet Glass Company, LimitedInventors: Tatsuya Noguchi, Satoshi Furusawa

Patent number: 7258456Abstract: A light filtering apparatus includes a first dispersion device, a spatial filter and a second dispersion device. The first dispersion device is arranged to cause spatial dispersion of an incident light beam as a function of its frequency. The spatial filter is arranged to filter the dispersed light beam so as to produce a spatially filtered resultant beam. The second dispersion device is arranged to recombine the dispersed and filtered light beam so as to produce an output light beam having a substantially similar spectrum at any position within the output beam cross-section.Type: GrantFiled: November 16, 2004Date of Patent: August 21, 2007Assignee: FFEI LimitedInventor: Martin Gouch

Patent number: 7258458Abstract: The Automatic Base-Mounted Container Illuminator is a new and improved illumination device for use and attachment on the base of a liquid container. The Illuminator attaches to the container due to a high level of friction between the outer surface of the container and the outer surface of the Illuminator's liquid-proof coating. The Illuminator contains a power source and a light source. The power source and light source are connected by an electrical switch mechanism so that when the liquid container and attached Illuminator are lifted from a standing position the circuit is completed until the container is placed back onto its base in a standing position. When the Illuminator is engaged the liquid and the bottle itself become illuminated. This effect is useful for advertising and attracting business, and it is pleasing to the eyes of nearby observers. Thus, the Illuminator can be simultaneously used as an advertising agent and a visual stimulant.Type: GrantFiled: March 24, 2005Date of Patent: August 21, 2007Inventors: Michael Mochiachvili, Dennis Glenn
