This rigid plate is preferably contoured to mirror the shape of the human spine. The device in one embodiment is used as a baby carrier. Abstract: Shown herein is an example embodiment of a garment or other article of clothing with EL lighting and tear away functionality. In one example embodiment, the garment or article is a safety vest that includes an EL lighting assembly wherein the vest and the assembly are adapted to allow at least a portion of the article to be torn away in the event the article is accidentally caught in a machine or vehicle. In one embodiment, tear away functionality is provided by providing a line of weakness in the article at the shoulders that allows the article to separate if pulled with sufficient force, and also with a “pull-apart” connector in the EL lighting assembly that is positioned at about the location of the line of weakness.

The glove provides a means for increasing resistance at, or alternatively prohibiting the flexion of specific joints. Said means include annular rigid bands connected by elastic bands to a partial glove body, integral semicircular members that fit about the desired joints, and integral cylindrical members that fit about the desired joints. The exercises facilitated by the glove improve an athlete's ability to grasp an item, such as a ball, bat or an opponent. It will be appreciated that improved strength in the digits has a direct correlation with improved performance in a multitude of athletic endeavors.

Abstract: A hosiery garment including a top support portion that has a waist panel, buttock panels, a tummy panel and leg panels. The waist panel has a relatively tight knit and extends around the wearer's waist. The buttock panels have a relatively loose knit and may include loose-knit defined pockets to conform more to the buttocks of the wearer. The tight knit of the waist panel provides firmness and compression and in combination with the loose fit of the buttock panels facilitates use of a low-rise cut without bunching or riding-up of the undergarment when sitting. The upper edge of the waist panel may also include higher extending hip portions for a more secure fit. A downwardly extending rear portion of the waist panel may have a V-shape to reduce gapping. The undergarment may also include leg portions that have a sheer knit single ply and extend from the leg panels.

The liner can comprise a side liner portion and the outer shell can comprise a slider mechanism for engaging the side liner portion to adjust the fit of the helmet to the head of the wearer in the side-to-side direction. The liner can comprise a plurality of grooves to transfer energy across the liner material.

Abstract: The invention refers to an autonomous system and to a method that allows the active thermal control of garments using solar cells as the power source. In the simplest configuration, the system includes a piece of clothing with solar cells (1), a thermal module able to generate heat and cold (3, 4, and 5), and a unit for controlling and monitoring the internal environment (6). In order to increase versatility and to optimize operation conditions, the system includes batteries (2) that can be charged by the solar cells or externally, increasing energy autonomy and improving performance in low radiation conditions. Proper distribution of electric resistors (3) and refrigeration pipes (7) allow a fine-tuning regulation of temperature inside the garment. The garment is developed not only for standard conditions but also for extreme heast and cold environments, being optimised wither for standard solar radiation or other relevant spectral source.

A self-foaming liquid soap as a high efficiency absorbing substance is used from contaminations produced during evacuations. A water tank is comprised of two compartments: one is for flashing water that could be a regular gravity tank, or a pressure assisted flash water, and a separate compartment is for a self-foaming liquid soap. A toilet bowl is designed with two rims: one is for a flashing water and another one for a soap foam. A soap foam is applied into a bowl walls and on a water surface on a bowl bottom for protection from evacuations and reflections into a user.

Abstract: A device to diagnose a vacuum system comprises a pipe with a first opening that can be closed by a hingeable cover, and a second opening that is designed to establish a pressure-proof connection to the vacuum system. The diagnostic device may be operated in a volume-flow mode in which the cover is open in order to determine a volume flow in the base body, and in a negative-pressure mode in which the cover is closed so as to allow to draw conclusions about the available pressure difference.

The flexible spine is attached to the spine brackets such that the spine is bowed above the pool. Each flexible rib pair is transversely attached to the spine and a pair of rib brackets. The cover is draped over the spine, ribs and rail. The cover is secured to the rail with cover clips. Each cover clip is comprised of a tubular body having a lengthwise slit defining a pair of clamping surfaces. A flexible protective membrane is inserted between the clamping surfaces.

Abstract: A pre-fabricated shower pan provides the features of a custom on-site constructed shower pan. The pre-fabricated shower pan comprises a wood frame, a drain, a sloped floor, and a hot-mopped tar covering. A box is constructed from a four by six dam on one or two sides, one by six lumber on the remaining sides, and a plywood floor. A drain is mounted in the center of the plywood floor. The sloped floor is created by layers of composition shingles or similar material. Tar is mopped over the shingles and on the inside of the box to provide a watertight seal. The tar may further be mopped over part or all of the outside of the box.

An inverted, vertically elongated, U-shaped tube is arranged within the station alongside the fresh water tank. One end of the tube opens into the used water storage tank near its lower end. The second end of the tube opens to the outside of the station. The curved bight of the tube is located at a height that is above the maximum height of the used water within the used water storage tank. Water may be rapidly removed from the tank by temporarily applying suction to the second end of the tube to siphon used water through the tube and out of the used water storage tank.

The straps are affixed to a horizontal slit found in the main body of the reflux wedge by hook and pile material. The straps are attached to each other by a material section. The harness prevents the infant from slipping down the slope of the wedge. The unique design of the wedge and harness allows for either prone or supine positioning of the infant. Infant shoulder protraction is facilitated in either the prone or supine position when the infant rests within the harness attached to the wedge.

When incorporated into a paper web, the combination of the polyvinylamine polymer and the second agent provide improved strength properties, such as wet strength properties.
