Abstract: A device for relieving back strain for a user who is supporting a substantial weight which is off the user's vertical body axis at his or her front side. The device alleviates the aforementioned difficulties by utilizing the otherwise detrimental forces generated by the off-axis weight to press a rigid plate behind and adjacent to the spine of the device user against the user's spine. This rigid plate is preferably contoured to mirror the shape of the human spine. The device in one embodiment is used as a baby carrier. In another it is used with an abdominal support during pregnancy. In a third embodiment it provides support for the breasts of large breasted women.

Abstract: The composition that permits spray dyeing of a cellulosic, such as cotton, fabric or garment. The composition includes a wetter, an alkali, a reactive dye, a thickener, and water. The present compositions are made by first mixing together the wetter, reactive dye and water to form a first solution, then mixing the thickener into the first solution to form a second solution, and thereafter mixing or merging the alkali to the second solution within thirty minutes prior to spray application onto the cellulosic fabric or garment.

Abstract: Textile materials, including paper webs, treated with a polyvinylamine polymer and a second agent that interacts with the polyvinylamine polymer is disclosed. The second agent added with the polyvinylamine polymer can be, for instance, a polymeric anionic reactive compound or a polymeric aldehyde-functional compound. When incorporated into a paper web, the combination of the polyvinylamine polymer and the second agent provide improved strength properties, such as wet strength properties. In an alternative embodiment, the polyvinylamine polymer and the second polymer can be applied to a textile material for increasing the affinity of the textile material for acid dyes.

Abstract: A cleaning implement is disclosed which provides a cleaning member rotatably connected to a base member. Attached to the base member is a first cleaning material, while a second cleaning material is attached to the cleaning member. The second cleaning material may be oriented in a different plane than the first cleaning material, allowing differently oriented surfaces to be cleaned. The cleaning member is adapted to rotate relative to the base member to allow the cleaning member to be oriented in a multitude of cleaning configurations. A method of cleaning, utilizing the cleaning implement of the invention, is also disclosed.

Abstract: A hair brush with a cleaning element for removing entwined hair from the brush after use. The cleaning element of the brush includes a plate(s) with opening through which the bristles protrude. When the plate is expanded, the plate pushes any hairs entwined in the bristles to the tips of the bristles where they are removed. The brush also has a post mechanism, which allows for the adjustment of the cleaning element to various intermediary positions, effectively adjusting the length of the bristles for use of the brush.
