Abstract: A post driving implement for use with a vehicle, such as a tractor or a skid loader, is disclosed. The post driving implement is comprised of a hammer, a hammer channel, and a hammer cylinder. The hammer travels longitudinally within the hammer channel and is lifted by the hammer cylinder mounted to a closed end of the hammer channel. The hammer cylinder and its associated plumbing is of sufficient size to function as a hydraulic reservoir for the post driving implement, thus eliminating the need for a third hydraulic line to the reservoir on the vehicle and to avoiding need for alteration of the vehicle's reservoir. The post driving implement of the present invention may also include a back plate for mounting the implement to a vehicle. Additionally, the post driving implement may include adjustment mechanisms to vary the positional and angular relationship between the vehicle and the implement.

When the vehicle is in a stopped state while the driving force of the engine is not being used, the device estimates a minimum driving torque required for starting the vehicle from the relationships among a brake torque, a motor-generator torque and a vehicle speed during a transitional period of a brake-pedal releasing operation. Based on the estimated minimum driving torque, the device determines prior to pressing of the accelerator pedal whether it is necessary to use the engine for a driving force of the hybrid vehicle.

Abstract: A panel mount cable control assembly is provided which is useful with a vehicle having controllable mechanisms such as a throttle and choke of an internal combustion engine. The cable control assembly includes independently actuated shifters operatively connected to respective Bowden cables connected to the controllable mechanisms, which each shifter having a different mode of operation. A first shifter is preferably maintained in a desired position through frictional engagement, while a second shifter operates for a free return though a spring which biases the shifter to an initial position. Both shifters are preferably mounted to substantially enclose a chamber of a housing, and are positioned for side-by-side independent pivotal movement with the shifters in abutment.

Abstract: An electric power steering control apparatus can limit a motor impression voltage thereby to maintain an appropriate motor output even upon occurrence of a failure of a motor current detection circuit or a motor current feedback control system. The apparatus includes a motor that generates an assist force to the steering system, an input processing section that takes in a steering torque signal from a torque sensor, an output processing section that drives the motor, and a processing unit that provides an instruction to the output processing section based on the steering torque signal. The processing unit includes an impression voltage calculation section that calculates an amount of operation to the motor in accordance with the steering torque signal, and an impression voltage limiting section that limits the impression voltage to predetermined limit values or less corresponding to the direction of the steering torque signal.

Abstract: A speaker system has a speaker unit with a vibration plate of a corn type, a horn and a diffuser. The horn is disposed such that a small-diameter opening thereof is positioned inward from a front opening of the vibration plate, and an outer surface of the horn is arranged along an inner surface of the vibration plate from the small-diameter opening to form a first acoustic path. The diffuser has a base portion, a front end portion and an outer peripheral surface extending therebetween, and is disposed such that the base portion is positioned inward from a front opening of the horn and opposed to the small-diameter opening of the horn. The diffuser has a specific shape such that the outer peripheral surface expands along an inner surface of the horn from the base portion to form a second acoustic path. The expanding outer peripheral surface of the diffuser is then narrowed toward the front end portion of the diffuser.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a tactical safety belt comprising an elongated strip of flexible belt material having first and second ends, where the first end is folded back upon itself to form a buckle receiving loop and an adjacent open sided pocket between the folded portions of the belting material. A buckle is affixed to the loop and adapted to receive the second end of the belt material to secure the belt around the waist of the user. A ring is slidably secured within the pocket so that the ring may be stowed within the pocket or partially pulled from the pocket to be accessed for use in receiving a safety rope hook or an emergency rappelling line.

Abstract: A ladder dolly engagable to multiple styles of ladders. The dolly comprises two separate tubular bodies with each having at least one side shorter than the other sides. Two horizontal members extending from sides perpendicular to the shorter side and outwardly extend past the shorter side. Multiple holes are spaced in the outwardly extended ends of the horizontal members, whereby allowing securement to various sizes of ladder rungs. Each pair of horizontal members includes a pin engagable between corresponding holes for securing each tubular body to a ladder rung. An axle is attached to one side perpendicular to the shorter side of one tubular body and extends outwardly in the opposite direction of the shorter side. A second axle is attached to the opposite perpendicular side of the second tubular body and also extends outwardly past the shorter side. Each axle rotatably supports a wheel on the outwardly extended end.

Abstract: An elevator installation has an elevator car and a permanent magnet linear drive system with a stationary part and a movable part, which moves along the stationary part when the permanent magnet linear drive system is controlled in a drive mode. The elevator car is arranged in a rucksack configuration. The stationary part has two inclined interaction surfaces which include an angle between 0° and 180°. The movable part comprises two units which are so arranged in common on a rear side of the elevator car and mechanically positively connected with the elevator car that in the case of drive control each of the two units produces a movement along one of the interaction surfaces in order to thus move the elevator car.

Abstract: An elevator door system includes a motor rotating a vertical reel, and an elevator door. The door can be formed of a plurality of vertically aligned rigid panels or can be a sheet of material which is rigid or reinforced in the vertical direction or can have any other appropriate form making it suitable for being wound upon and unwound from the reel. The door is mounted to a flexible force transmission member provided along an entire width of the door and interconnected to the reel. Accordingly, the forces generated by the motor for opening and closing the door are substantially transmitted through the transmission member rather than being imparted onto the door itself Hence, in use the strain on the door is greatly reduced and therefore the quantity of material used for the door and consequently its cost and mass can be reduced without deteriorating performance.

Abstract: A disk brake has a flange portion formed on the outer periphery of a portion of a caliper body main body where an opening is formed. The opening is used for insertion of a cutting tool for machining of a cylinder bore. The outer diameter of the flange portion is larger than that of a general surface of the outer peripheral wall of the bore formed in the caliper body main body. A lid member is secured to the opening by friction stir welding. The flange portion ensures a sufficient welding margin. The overall weight of the disk brake is reduced by minimizing the wall thickness of the general surface of the outer peripheral wall of the bore.
