Abstract: Provided is an aerosol method, and accompanying apparatus, for preparing powdered products of a variety of materials involving the use of an ultrasonic aerosol generator (106) including a plurality of ultrasonic transducers (120) underlying and ultrasonically energizing a reservoir of liquid feed(102) which forms droplets of the aerosol. Carrier gas (104) is delivered to different portions of the reservoir by a plurality of gas delivery ports (136) delivering gas from a gas delivery system. The aerosol is pyrolyzed to form particles, which are then cooled and collected. The invention also provides powders made by the method and devices made using the powders.

Abstract: A method for effecting solar radiation in space prior to the solar radiation reaching Earth. The method includes the steps of choosing a location between the Earth and the sun, focusing reflected solar radiation from two reflectors upon the location, monitoring solar radiation that passes through the focal location, and adjusting the reflectors to increase the size or change the shape of the focal location. The disclosure further includes a structure having a single joint for articulating the structure, where the single joint rotates the structure about a first axis in response to a first input and where the single joint rotates the structure about a second axis in response to a second input.

Abstract: A bottle cap remover includes a pair of axially nested socket sections of different diameters depending axially from a larger-diameter grasping section. Each of the socket sections includes frictional gripping members along their inner walls that are adapted to frictionally engage different sizes and types of metal and plastic bottle caps, thereby to enable the user to twist off and remove the bottle caps by applying a relatively small twisting force to the grasping section.

The tool head has a toothed hub facing rearwardly of the pivot and into the yoke. A locking spool is rotatably carried in the yoke adjacent the toothed hub. The first gripper arm is provided with an integrated pliers yaw. A pliers yaw movable about a joint is provided at the second gripper arm. The movable pliers yaw of the second gripper arm is provided with guiding means for adjustably guiding the movable pliers yaw together with the second gripper arm in a compulsory guide of the first gripper arm. A detent mechanism for locking is provided for keeping the movable pliers yaw with the second gripper arm in a detent position for a rough adjustment.

Abstract: A screw driving device is provided which can counter-sink a screw at angles off of normal from a workpiece. The device includes a shank held in contact with a screw bit to drive the tip when a plurality of balls are held in contact between a screw bit head and a sleeve surrounding the shank and to disengage the shank from the bit when the screw is at a desired counter-sunk depth. The disengagement of the shank from the screw bit is provided by permitting the plurality of balls to slide out of contact between the rotating shank and bit to thus disengage the shank from the screw bit.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to an apparatus for maintaining contact between a portion of a workpiece between a kerf intrusion device and an alignment fence. In an aspect of the present invention, a table saw is configured with a support having a support surface for accepting a saw blade extended through an aperture in the support to cut a workpiece. An alignment fence is adjustably coupled to the saw to allow for workpiece positioning with respect to the saw blade. A kerf intrusion device such as a back splitter is coupled to an arbor for rotating the saw blade. An side pressure splitter is further included on the intrusion device such that a portion of a workpiece disposed between the intrusion device and the alignment fence is directed into contact with the alignment fence.

The computer will then be able to determine the particular cutting path in three dimensions in order to arrive at the predetermined shape. Followed by a step of cutting in one direction to fix at least one dimension of the foodstuff. Followed by a step of determining whether the foodstuff is within the tolerance limits or whether the foodstuff portion has moved during the first cutting operation. If the foodstuff portion has moved, the foodstuff will be rescanned. Followed by a step of generating a two-dimensional image of the foodstuff.

The apparatus utilizes pipe segments rather than vessels to separate the fluid components into a gas phase, a water phase, and an oil phase. Separation of the flow stream into the different phases allows the measurement of a particular phase. Because the oil stream may continue to contain a small amount of water, a water cut meter may be employed to determine the water content in the oil stream. The apparatus may be configured as a skid package to facilitate transportation and installation of the unit.

The self healing property is produced by the contact of the water itself, the potential repair mechanism is thus activated if and when needed in case of start of loss of zonal isolation. Several super-absorbent polymers have been identified such as polyacrylamide, modified crosslinked poly(meth)acrylate and non-solute acrylic polymers.

The first rod has a retainer arm that is restricted by the second rod to a vertical position, thus preventing a shipment on the pallet from reaching the ramp. The second rod has a thin portion and a thick portion. The second rod must be laterally moved such that the mating bracket mates only with the thin portion of the rod. This lateral movement moves the second rod away from the first rod's retainer arm, thus allowing the retainer arm to fold down.

Abstract: A pallet and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. The pallet comprises a pallet body, a skid to reinforce the pallet body and means to interlock the pallet body and the skid. The pallet body and the skid are moulded from a mouldable composition comprising between about 40 to 60 wt % of a fibre mixture and between about 15 to 45 wt % of an adhesive. The method for manufacturing the pallet begins by preparing the mouldable composition. A mould cavity is loaded with the mouldable composition up to about 90% of the capacity of the mould cavity before applying a packing pressure of between about 435 to 870 psi to the mouldable composition. A predetermined clearance of between about 0.1 to 0.5 mm is maintained between a first mould part defining the mould cavity and a second mould part.
