  • Patent number: 7267509
Abstract: A wrist mounted inflatable floatation device to provide temporary floatation support for a swimmer, boater, wader, or other person who is in the water. A wrist mounted floatation device is conveniently worn when someone is in the water or on a boat. It is attached to the wrist by a wrist strap which is adjusted for a snug fit around wrists of a variety of sizes. Mounted on said wrist strap is a deflated and folded inflatable bladder. Also mounted on said wrist strap are means for inflating said inflatable bladder when need for a floatation device presents itself to a user. The means can be high-tech gas storage devices, such as carbon nanotubes or chemicals, that when triggered produce a chemical reaction to produce either a gas or a gas filled polymer material, or a simple inflation tube and check valve, which allows a user to manually inflate the bladder. The bladder is attached to the wrist strap by a cord. When inflated, the bladder detaches from the wrist but remains attached to the wrist by the cord.

  • Patent number: 7267528
Abstract: A bearing structure for the blade of cooling fan, comprises a hollow cylindrical body and an outward extended seat whose diameter is larger than the body. The seat has a recess at the bottom. The body forms a long cavity and upward flange. This bearing is placed in the hub of the cooling fan; the blade rotor shaft is inserted into the cavity of the bearing, and the flange of the body works as a C-clamp buckling the round groove on the blade rotor shaft to confine the motion of the rotor shaft. The bearing design renders easy fabrication and assembly, good dust shield to keep the dust off the rotor and reduce the rotary friction and resistance to the minimum. In addition, the magnetic force is limited for the self-adjustment, which further alleviates the frictional resistance sop the service life the cooling fan is extended longer.

A one-piece bottom mold portion that completes the blow cavity is locked up against the top mold portion by a locking assembly to prevent separation of the bottom mold portion from the top mold portion during the high pressure blow cycle. The locking assembly includes a support ring for the bottom mold portion that has a number of radially outwardly projecting male lugs adapted to fit into female receiving notches on opposed halves of a lock ring on the upper mold portion. Individual ledges at the bottoms of the notches underlie the lugs of the support ring when the mold halves are fully closed so as to preclude separation of the support ring, and thus the bottom mold portion, from the lock ring and the upper mold portion. The notches in the support ring are interposed between pairs of bolt holes in the lock ring.

Abstract: This disclosure is directed to an adjustable knockout rod for use in conjunction with injection molding machines. The knock-out rod disclosed herein is preferably formed of a round bar having a plurality of annular notches or undercuts formed at uniform intervals along the length of the bar. The knock-out rod passes through a stationary platen and is retained in position relative to the stationary platen by a split collar. The split collar is designed to be inserted into the stationary platen in more than one orientation thereby effecting adjustment of the knock-out rod a distance and interval less than the distance between the adjacent notches on the rod. Additionally, the quick adjusting knockout rod disclosed herein is provided with means for fine adjustment of the overall length of the rod.

Abstract: A new system for making agglomerates of chopped glass fiber strand segments is disclosed and claimed. The agglomerates, made by feeding wet chopped fiber strand segments into a wave chamber having a vibrating curved surface that produces a wave-like flow pattern in the segments and agglomerates, have a substantially higher bulk density and greatly improved flow characteristics than conventional chopped strand reinforcements. The wet agglomerates are usually dried in any conventional dryer.

  • Patent number: 7267540
Abstract: A cutter hub and blade assembly for cutting polymer strands extruded from a die face in a pelletizer has cutter blades mounted on the cutter hub at a steep angle. The blades are beveled along a portion of their leading edge to form a blunt cutting edge or surface to the blades which is generally perpendicular to the die face. By beveling the leading edge of a blade supported at a steep angle to form a blunt cutting edge, the bottom surface area of the blade in contact with the die face can be significantly reduced. The reduced contact area provides several advantages including a clean cut of the pellets and a faster blade grinding when seating the blades to the die face.

Abstract: An extruder head for extrusion blow-molding plastic containers includes a ring gap nozzle with a mandrel and a ring-shaped nozzle body. An elastically deformable sleeve is arranged on an end of the nozzle outlet side and defines a gap width which can be varied by axial setting movements of the mandrel and/or the nozzle body. The geometry of the nozzle gap can be influenced by radially deforming the sleeve with setting devices during the extrusion of a hose-shaped preformed blank. The sleeve may be moved in a radial direction and is guided on sliding surfaces which support it in upward and downward directions. The sleeve may be in the form of a cylinder or tube. A lower edge of the sleeve shapes a cross-section of a melt stream exiting from the ring gap nozzle.
