  • Publication number: 20070215643
Abstract: Certain pump dispensers, for example foam dispensers, are specially adapted for inverted use. One feature especially useful in a foam dispenser having both an air cylinder and a liquid cylinder with respective pistons is an intake conduit arrangement to increase the clearance of liquid from the container. An intermediate shell fits over the upright liquid cylinder body and carries an inlet valve positively urged upward to the closed position to prevent leaking. A conduit shell fits over the intermediate shell and creates an intake conduit extending down the side of the liquid cylinder to an intake opening lower down the pump body.

Abstract: A volumetric fluid dispensing device can include a fluid reservoir having at least one flexible wall and a dispensing reservoir oriented above the fluid reservoir. The dispensing reservoir can have an overflow return fluidly connected to the fluid reservoir such that the dispensing reservoir holds a measured volume of fluid. A reservoir conduit can be fluidly connected to the fluid reservoir and the dispensing reservoir to allow excess fluid to return from the overflow to the fluid reservoir. A dispensing conduit can also be fluidly connected to the dispensing reservoir to allow fluid to exit the dispensing reservoir. A mechanical wall actuator can be operatively associated with the walls for controllably flexing at least a portion of the walls sufficient to force fluid from the fluid reservoir to the dispensing reservoir via the reservoir conduit.

  • Publication number: 20070215645
Abstract: A manually operated trigger sprayer is constructed with a reduced number of parts and in a novel manner in which all of the component parts of the sprayer are constructed of a plastic material. The construction of the trigger sprayer replaces the conventional metal coil spring in the pump chamber with a pair of plastic bowed springs that are integral with the piston rod and are positioned outside the pump chamber. Constructing all of the sprayer parts of a plastic material enables a cost efficient recycling of the parts, which does not require disassembling the parts to remove a metal spring.

This involves first aligning a first structural member to a second structural member. The first structural member has a channel with which to receive a portion of the second structural member. Once aligned, the first structural member and second structural member may be friction stir welded at the channel to plasticize the material adjacent to the channel of both the first structural member and the second structural member to form a friction stir weld joint. Abstract: A method for joining a first component surface to a ceramic component surface includes cold gas-dynamic spraying a first metal powder onto the ceramic component surface to form a first metal coating. The first component surface is then bonded to the metal coating on the ceramic component surface. The bonding step may be a thermal process such as a brazing process. A mechanical bond may also be formed by an interference fitting such as press or shrink fitting.

Abstract: A method of making a texture-coated and/or insulation coated container from a flat paperboard blank in which a heat-hardenable liquid polymeric binder texturizing and/or insulating agent coating mixture is applied to one surface of the blank in a pattern of covered and open areas. This coating mixture is subjected to heat to cure the polymeric binder and expand the texturizing and/or insulating agent, optionally treated with moisture, and optionally heated to form the blank into the shape of a container, and the container produced by this method. The containers such as cups, plates, etc., are useful in food service. These containers have a coefficient of static friction which is about 0.2 to 2.0 and over and a kinetic coefficient of friction which is about 0.22 to 1.5.

Abstract: A method and system for managing and applying entitlements is described herein. An identity integration server centrally manages data associated with entitlements for a plurality of identities. The integration server may select one of a plurality of workflows. One or more of a plurality of entitlements to be used in the workflow are selected, and a set of identities for which the workflow is applicable is selected. A determination is made as to whether the workflow should be run on the identities. If so, then the workflow is initiated. The one or more entitlements are then added to a granted entitlements list. Then, a separate process may be initiated to apply the one or more entitlements to the one or more identities.

Abstract: A method for providing secure transactions generates a Secure Card Number (“SCN”) for a first entity that is transferred with a first entity identifier to a second entity and then to a money source that verifies that the transaction is valid by use of the first entity identifier and the SCN. The SCN includes a Transaction Information Block (“TIB”), a Counter Block, and an encrypted Personal Identification Number (“PIN”) Block. The SCN is transferred to the money source in an account number or a non-account data field. The money source can use the TIB to determine whether the SCN should be used once or multiple times or to identify one of several physical devices, all of which are issued to the first entity, used to generate the SCN. The money source validates the SCN by duplicating the encryption process used to create an encrypted PIN Block and comparing the result to the encrypted PIN Block received with the transaction.
