Publication number: 20070284279Abstract: A child-resistant multi-step tear-access blister package having at least one product well containing a product. The product is accessed by tearing the blister package from a peripheral edge toward the product well. A step in addition to tearing is required to access the product, thereby elevating the cognitive skill necessary to access the product above those of a typical small child. In the disclosed exemplary embodiment, the additional step involves weakening a tear-resistant channel blocking a tear path from the peripheral edge of the package to the product well. More particularly, initial tearing of the package toward the product well is interfered with by the presence of the tear-resistant channel interrupting the tear path. The tear-resistant channel may be bent or snapped to permit tearing therethrough and to permit continued tearing of the blister package toward the product well to access the product.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 12, 2006Publication date: December 13, 2007Inventors: William Doskoczynski, Steven Ginsberg, Barry G. Publication number: 20070284280Abstract: An improved child-resistant blister package is provided in which the lidding component includes a tear-resistant nonwoven layer and a barrier layer. The nonwoven layer can be a melt-spun continuous filament nonwoven web. The lidding component used in peel off-push through blister packages of the invention contains fewer layers, can be processed at higher blister package sealing temperatures and has improved puncture resistance compared to lidding components used in child-resistant packages known in the art. In addition, in peel off-push through and peel-open package designs of the present invention, the lidding peels more cleanly from the blister component compared to packages known in the art which have a tendency to tear during peeling.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 12, 2006Publication date: December 13, 2007Inventor: Patrick Henry Young

Publication number: 20070284283Abstract: A method for processing asphaltenes is disclosed. The method can include separating asphaltenes from an asphaltene-containing composition and oxidizing the separated asphaltenes to form oxidation products. Alternatively, the method can include oxidizing asphaltenes within an asphaltene-containing composition without first separating the asphaltenes. Once formed, the oxidation products can be combined with other hydrocarbons. The amount of oxidation can be limited to an amount sufficient to produce a mixture suitable for the desired application. This method can be used to upgrade asphaltenes from a variety of sources, including oil sands. The oxidation step can be performed, for example, by introducing an oxidizing agent and, in some cases, a catalyst into the asphaltenes. A solvent or miscibility agent also can be introduced to improve mixing between the oxidizing agent and the asphaltenes.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 8, 2006Publication date: December 13, 2007Inventors: Willem P. Publication number: 20070284325Abstract: The invention relates to a height-adjustable support for false floors, in particular for exhibitions, trade fairs, etc., having a foot (3) for bearing on the underlying surface, and a head (4) on which the covering panels (1) end up located, and having a spindle arrangement which connects the foot and head and of which the spindle, a threaded rod (5), is mounted in a bearing (9) such that it can be rotated at the head (4), but cannot be displaced axially, and interacts, in the foot (3), with a mating thread (8) provided in a fixed manner therein as a spindle nut, it being possible for the spindle drive to be driven by means of a handle (16). In order to allow straightforward height adjustment to be carried out even when all but one covering panel have already been laid at a supporting point, the handle is connected in a rotationally fixed manner to the spindle.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 22, 2007Publication date: December 13, 2007Inventors: Hugo Lenhard-Backhaus, Josef Hrovath

Publication number: 20070284327Abstract: A hoist for positioning a load (40) includes a plurality of lift cylinders (15), a plurality of position sensors, a plurality of electronically controlled valves, a user input device (22), and a hoist controller (20). Each of the hydraulic hoist cylinders is coupled at one end to the hoist and at an opposite end to the load at a lifting point (45). Each of the position sensors is associated with one of the hoist cylinders and operable to provide position data for the associated hoist cylinder. The electronically controlled valves are hydraulically coupled to the hoist cylinders for extending and retracting the associated hoist cylinders. The user input device is operable by a user to specify load data. The hoist controller is operable to receive the load data from the input device and the position data from the position sensors and in response thereto to control the electronically controlled valves so as to position the load according to the load data.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2005Publication date: December 13, 2007Inventors: Jesus Gonzalez, Luis Sordo
