The gland portion includes a gas nozzle end extended from the gas nozzle toward an outside region of the reaction furnace and a gas supply conduit end extended from the gas supply conduit. The gas nozzle end is connected to the gas supply conduit end through a buffer member. The buffer member has an inclined inner wall for connecting an inner wall of the gas nozzle end to that of the gas supply conduit end.

Abstract: Microwaves propagated through the waveguide 30, a plurality of slots 31 and the dielectric members 33 in this order are supplied into the processing chamber U where they are used to excite a gas to plasma to be used to process a substrate G. Alumina 50 fills an area inside the waveguide 30 near an end surface C thereof, and the remaining area inside the waveguide is filled with Teflon 35. Since the alumina 50 has a smaller guide wavelength ?g compared to the Teflon 35, the mechanical length measured from the end surface C of the waveguide 30 to the center of the closest slot is reduced compared to the mechanical length of a waveguide filled only with Teflon 35 while maintaining the physical characteristic length from the end surface C to the closest slot center at ?g/4.

Abstract: A system to form a dielectric layer on a substrate from a plasma of dielectric precursors is described. The system may include a deposition chamber, a substrate stage in the deposition chamber to hold the substrate, and a remote plasma generating system coupled to the deposition chamber, where the plasma generating system is used to generate a dielectric precursor having one or more reactive radicals. The system may also include a radiative heating system to heat the substrate that includes at least one light source, where at least some of the light emitted from the light source travels through the top side of the deposition chamber before reaching the substrate. The system may also include a precursor distribution system to introduce the reactive radical precursor and additional dielectric precursors to the deposition chamber. An in-situ plasma generating system may also be included to generate the plasma in the deposition chamber from the dielectric precursors supplied to the deposition chamber.

Abstract: In a substrate surface treating apparatus, the temperature of a carrier gas can be increased high and thus treatment can be more uniformly performed. An upstream ring is connected to a heating medium inlet for applying a prescribed heating medium, and a downstream ring is connected to a heating medium outlet for ejecting the heating medium. A plurality of heat transmitting paths are connected to the upstream ring and the downstream ring by having flow directions of the adjacent heating medium reaching the downstream ring from the upstream ring are opposite, and a gas is used as the heating medium.

Abstract: An apparatus and related methods using photographic imaging and the interactions between light beams and dairy milk to provide in-line monitoring, analysis, and display of the quality of milk collected from dairy animals. The apparatus is robust in that it is reliable, simple to install, relatively small in size, cost effective, easily cleaned, and low maintenance. The apparatus can be installed directly in-line with the milk collection apparatus for each animal so as to measure the entire milk yield produced by that animal at flow rates typically used in milking parlours without requiring any unusual tube fittings or non-standard equipment. The apparatus is capable of handling analysis of a flow having mixed densities, air/liquid ratios, temperature variations, or any other similar variation of physical characteristics.
