Abstract: A cutting tool includes a first and second pivoted levers for opening and closing and a pair workpiece engagement members having one or more cutting edges. One of the workpiece engagement members is pivotably attached to the fist and second members, while the other workpiece engagement member is fixedly attached to the second lever. The levers connected together by a linkage having one end fixed in position the first lever and having another end slideably attached to the second lever by of a slide element. An adjustment device is connected to the side element and to a rotatable handle on the first handle. The adjustment device moves and holds the slide element in a plurality of positions which correspond to different cutting ratios. An associated method of use is also disclosed in which the rotatable handle is used to adjust the cutting ratio while the tool is engaged with a workpiece.

The pivot assembly comprises a bush within the static handle and on which the movable handle/blade assembly is pivotally mounted, a spring for pivotally biasing the movable handle/blade assembly to an open position being retained by the pivot assembly within the static handle. Both the movable blade and static blade are mounted on the bush and are clamped laterally between two separate parts of the bush which are assembled together in screw threaded engagement, and the two blades are supported from the bush by a bearing ring of low friction material.

Specifically, each blade member has opposite side edges, with one side edge mounted within, and bonded to the guard member. Abstract: A cutting implement having a pair of cutting blades and a coating is provided. The coating has titanium chromium nitride and provides the cutting blades with a satin silver appearance. In some embodiments, the titanium chromium nitride coating has a thickness in a range between about 0.3 microns and 0.5 microns, a surface roughness in a range of about 15 to 25 10?6 inch/inch, and a hardness in a range of about 5.7 to about 9.1 gegapascals.

Abstract: The present invention is a cutting tool having a cutting feature formed along substantially all of a cutting edge formed along a portion of the blade of the edged tool. The cutting feature is characterized by a cutting edge, a first thickness behind the cutting edge, and a second thickness behind the first thickness, with the second thickness being less than the first thickness. The second thickness is preferably established within the first 20% of the depth of the blade adjacent the cutting edge.

Abstract: A hybrid wheel alignment system and methodology use passive targets for a first pair of wheels (e.g. front wheels) and active sensing heads for another pair of wheels (e.g. rear wheels). The active sensing heads combine image sensors for capturing images of the targets with at least one spatial relationship sensor for sensing a relationship between the active sensing heads. One or both of the active sensing heads may include inclinometers or the like, for sensing one or more tilt angles of the respective sensing head. Data from the active sensing heads may be sent to a host computer for processing to derive one or more vehicle measurements, for example, for measurement of parameters useful in wheel alignment applications.

The sight illuminator unit includes a battery power source and an electrical bulb. The grip-mounted, pressure-responsive switch unit provides automatic “on” and automatic “off” features, thereby providing for long life of the battery power source. This is so because the electrical bulb is energized and turned “on” only when needed and automatically turns “off” when not needed.

The apparatus has an inlet that can be detachably coupled to a medium injection apparatus, such as a conventional spray can, that injects compressed air or some other cooling medium through the medium transfer apparatus into an interior region of the shoe. Thus, by injecting the cooling medium into the shoe, a user is able to cool his foot without removing his foot from the shoe. In one embodiment, the cooling medium is directed to an insole of the shoe such that the insole is significantly cooled by the cooling medium being injected into the shoe. The cooled insole continues to draw heat from the user's foot and the user continues to feel a cooling sensation long after the cooling medium injection has ended.

Abstract: The digging attachment for skid loaders is a digging device for removing trees, bushes, and other plants. The universal digging attachment may also be used for other purposes, such as making trenches, digging post holes, and the like. The device comprises a spade blade at the end of an elongate boom. A frame, which has a rear face and a front face, has an attachment plate attached to the front face. The boom is rigidly to a lower central region of the attachment plate so that the spade extends away from the attachment plate. When the digging attachment is attached to the skid loader, an operator of the skid loader can manipulate the digging attachment to dig into soil and remove a plant from the soil in the vicinity of the plant with a minimal amount of disruption to the soil.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for automatically profiling ground in waters, in particular in a gravel pit by means of a floating conveying device. The inventive method consists in producing a base map on the basis a water surface map, scanning the water surface by means of appropriate devices in order to determine a bottom profile, the position and direction of said conveying device, cyclically updating the real depth of the water body and in comparing said real depth with a specified depth profile. According to said invention, predefined parameters measured near the extraction unit of the conveying device during digging layers are transmitted to a control system and the position of the conveying device is modified in the case of difference with parameters.

A document retaining panel is connected to, and upwardly extends from, the bottom panel of the inner frame to define a trough, a remainder of a front surface of the inner frame being rearwardly displaced adjacent the back panel to provide an open interior volume for document placement. The outer enclosure is sized for close non-binding sliding engagement over the inner frame to cover the open front surface and to weather protect documents placed into the interior volume. Mating sliding engagement between the inner frame and the outer enclosure allow the outer enclosure to be slidably lifted upwardly and releasably held thusly for document placement and removal.

The chip contains extensive medical information about the user, as well as contact and address information, and medical insurance information. The information on the microchip would be accessed by its contacts or by a small USB plug on the jewelry and connected to the memory chip inside. The jewelry would also contain on its surface a medical alert symbol. If the wearer of the jewelry is injured or has a medical emergency, the emergency medical technicians would recognize the medical alert symbol and would see the computer cable plug or open the chip container, and would plug in a computer or other device which could quickly read the medical information stored on the microchip.

Abstract: A telescopic sight comprising at least one main tube (1) and a reticule (25) with a reticule adjusting device (4, 5) arranged on the main tube (1) for adjusting the reticule (25) and an optical focusing means (16) with a focus adjusting device (3) arranged on the main tube (1) for focusing the optical focusing means (16), characterised in that the reticule adjusting device (4, 5) and the focus adjusting device (3) are arranged in the form of an integrated adjusting device (26), preferably in the form of an integrated adjusting turret, jointly on the main tube (1).

Abstract: This invention concerns a fishing rod which comprises an accelerometer (4) for measuring the acceleration of the fishing rod. Moreover the invention provides a reel (12, 20) for a fishing rod which comprises a member (28) which is moved at each cast of a fishing line. The reel further comprises a sensor for detecting the movement of the member. Further, the invention discloses a reel for a fishing rod which comprises a member (23, 28) which rotates when a fishing line is retrieved. An electrical sensor (24, 25, 37, 38) detects the rotation of the member. Finally the invention concerns bail arms (28).
