Abstract: A system is provided for coupling individual fenestration units together and sealing the gaps between them so as to form a sealed compound fenestration unit. The individual fenestration units include mating channels and tabs or other connectors that are attached to outside frame surfaces of the individual fenestration units. When the connectors are coupled together, they attach the frames of the individual fenestration units securely together in such a way that gaps are formed between the units along their joined frame surfaces. The gaps are sealed by resilient sealing strips that are configured to be inserted into the gaps, and that are formed with seals that bear against the walls of the gaps to form impervious moisture seals.

Abstract: A rotary platform is provided for the harvest of specialty crops such as grass seed. In particular the conditioning rolls are removed from the header to reduce seed shatter and converging elements are added inside the conditioner opening on both sides and to the rear of the cutterbar to feed the crop around the conditioner opening corner and to the rear of the platform. Additional converging elements are provided behind the first converging elements at a angle less then 90 DEG. to the ground so as to form the top of the windrow so that there is minimal seed loss. The converging elements may or may not be powered and the angle of the second converging element can be adjustable. The rotary knives perform the cutting function more efficiently than a sickle cutterbar, and the converging elements move the crop toward the center to form a windrow with less disturbance.

Abstract: The invention relates to vibrating tongs, including two opposing jaws in which the closing or opening movements are achieved through one or several hydraulic jacks, referred to as clamping jacks. These tongs are especially remarkable in that the oil intake chamber or pressure chamber of the clamping jacks that control the closing motion of the jaw or jaws, is linked to a mechanism fitted to detect any pressure rise inside the chamber that occurs when the tong jaws come into contact with the trunk of a tree. Blocking devices are controlled by the detection mechanism, and any increase in the pressure of the jaws on the trunk is opposed as soon as such a pressure rise occurs in the oil intake chamber.

Abstract: A method of making a composite horseshoe to a bespoke design for a specified hoof of a specified horse, comprises providing a template horseshoe adapted to fit the specified horse's hoof. The template horseshoe is made by providing a conventional horseshoe (at step 50), and refining the design of it in situ to fit the unique shape and requirements of the specified horse's hoof (at step 52). A mould of the template horseshoe is then constructed (at step 54), and the composite horseshoe is made by filling the mould with plastics material mixed with wear-resistant particles (at step 56).

Abstract: An exhaust system of an internal combustion engine includes a first filter device and a second filter device located downstream of the first. Both filter devices filter soot particles out of the exhaust gas. At least the first filter device has a catalytic material, which promotes an exothermic soot burnoff in such a way that as a result of the corresponding heating up of the exhaust gas, the soot burnoff in the second filter device is set in motion. The materials of the two filter devices are selected such that the soot burnoff in the first filter device ensues at a lower temperature and/or at a similar temperature is stronger than in the second filter device.

Abstract: One concept relates to power generation system, comprising a diesel engine, an exhaust manifold, a turbocharger, and an exhaust line in which are configured a fuel reformer and a LNT. A fuel injector is configured to inject fuel into the manifold upstream of the turbine. The high temperatures upstream of the turbine cause the fuel to crack into smaller molecules, releasing heat and providing a boost to the turbocharger. The fuel injected into the manifold also undergoes intense mixing as it passes through the turbocharger. Injecting fuel in this manner provides several benefits for reformer operation. Another concept relates to a manifold fuel injector used to provide fuel for heating a DPF.
