Abstract: A shaving razor including a housing having a primary guard at a front of the housing and a primary cap at an upper surface at a back of the housing, one or more primary shaving blades between the primary guard and said primary cap, and a trimming blade mounted at the back of the housing having a trimming blade cutting edge oriented away from the upper surface. The razor also has an elongated handle having a curve at end secured to the housing, with the curve being concave on the same side as the primary blades. The elongated handle can also have a finger pad at the end of the handle secured to the housing on the same side as the primary blades. The elongated handle can also be bifurcated at the end of the handle secured to the housing into two portions such that there is a region between the two portions.

Abstract: A safety razor assembly having a blade structure including one or more flexible elongate blades supported by a structure that is deformable to permit the blade structure to flex to follow concave or convex curvatures. The support structure can include two suspension members supporting a blade structure along respective edges, and each suspension member has several support elements interconnected by hinges and in sliding cooperation with the blade structure. The deformation of the suspension members is guided by a guide arrangement located adjacent the suspension members.

Abstract: A bar steel cutting tool in which a fixed blade body and a rotary blade body that is capable of rotating around a first shaft, by operating a handle, are provided at the front end of a tool base for shearing bar steel with concave blades formed on outer peripheries of the fixed blade body and the rotary blade body. The handle is so constructed that the front end of a proximal portion of the handle thereof is supported by a second shaft at a position above the tool base and equipped with an elongated hole extending obliquely backwards from the second shaft. The rotary blade body has an arm portion extending backwards, and forms branch portions which nip both the right and left sides of the proximal portion of the handle at the rear end thereof.

Abstract: A kitchen utensil for removing a hard center from a food item, such as a seed or a pit from a cherry or olive, has a shield for controlling a splatter of juice or other debris that may result from the removal of the hard center. The shield is removably securable with the utensil so that cleaning is simplified and so that the kitchen utensil can be stored in a compact arrangement. The shield secures on a first portion of the utensil in an operational configuration, and is received on a different portion of the utensil in a storage configuration. The utensil may include a locking mechanism to hold the utensil in a closed position so that the storage configuration is further compact.

The inventive eating utensil can be operable in three different operational modes. In a first operational mode, each of the first portion and the second portion is operable as a fork-like utensil. In a second operational mode, the first portion and the second portion together are operable as a server-like utensil. In a third operation mode, when the first and the second engagement portions are engaged, the eating utensil is operable as a tong-like utensil.

Abstract: Scissors for cutting thermoformed plastic packages, or similar packages, have lever members including a handle portion, a offset portion and a cutting portion. The cutting potion includes cooperating blades of approximately 2.5 inches, with one of the blades having a pointed tip for piercing the packaging material. The offset portion keeps the user's hand at least 1.5 to 2 inches above a cutting plane, such that the cut material, which has sharp edges, does not scratch or cut the user's hand.

Abstract: A proportional ruler for dividing a length into equal parts or converting a given length into a proportional length comprises a standard ruler scale and proportional scales with specific proportional coefficients. While a standard ruler scale gives a reading of actual length of an object, proportional scales will give a length equal to the actual length over the proportional coefficient. If a proportional coefficient is a whole number, the scale can be used as a divider to divide a length into the whole number of equal parts.

Abstract: A template cutting assembly is designed for cutting a sheet medium and includes a base and a frame connected by a hinge assembly. The base has a first end and a second end, the first end providing a hinge attachment point for the base. Likewise, the frame has a first end and a second end with the first end being the hinge end. A cutting surface is mounted on the base, and a template is removably mounted on the frame. The template has at least one guide channel for guiding a knife blade for cutting the medium.

Abstract: A handheld yarn measuring device (1) for monitoring yarn in yarn processing machines. The yarn measuring device includes a catcher (8), which when a trip lever (6) is actuated, places the yarn over a yarn applicator element (27) of a force sensor (29). The yarn tension and speed is detectable and delivered to a processing device for display and further processing. The device, which may be operated by one hand, has a boomerang-shaped housing (2) one end of which supports the trip lever (6), a control knob (10) and a display (5). The control knob (10) can be twisted and depressed by the user's thumb so that the selection of all the measurement and operating modes can be done with only the thumb. The measurement is performed by means of the trip lever (6), which actuates both the yarn catcher (8) and a measurement activation switch (49).

Abstract: A measurement and marking device has a tape measure body bearing indicia of distance and a plurality of closely set small holes in two parallel lines. Larger holes mark each one inch distance. Because the holes are set in parallel lines, a closer spacing of holes may be achieved than if the holes were in a single line. A magnet may be provided on a tape measure housing, so as to hold small fasteners such as screws, staples or nails. A method of marking a distance comprises extending the tape, inserting a pencil or similar marking device through a hole at a desired distance and marking the distance through the hole. Sweeping the device through an angle will result in marking of an arc.

Abstract: A hanging device which handles the electric cord of the hairdryer while keeping that same hairdryer out of the way while leaving it within easy reach. In order to do so, the invention comprises a system of pulleys and counterweight which act upon an electrical cable joined with the electrical cord of the hairdryer, and of which overhangs above a hairdresser's workstation.

Abstract: A drier apparatus for removing water or other liquids from various materials includes a mixer, drying chamber, separator and regenerator and a method for use of the apparatus. The material to be dried is mixed with a heated media to form a mixture which then passes through the chamber. While passing through the chamber, a comparatively cool fluid is passed counter current through the mixture so that the mixture becomes cooler and drier and the fluid becomes hotter and more saturated with moisture. The mixture is then separated into drier material and media. The media is transferred to the regenerator and heated therein by the hot fluid from the chamber and supplemental heat is supplied to bring the media to a preselected temperature for mixing with the incoming material to be dried. In a closed loop embodiment of the apparatus, the fluid is also recycled from the regenerator to the chamber and a chiller is utilized to reduce the temperature of the fluid to a preselected temperature and dew point temperature.

Abstract: A dryer includes a dryer body, a driving device, a groove, and an upper cover. The groove is located around the opening of the dryer body. The upper cover has a cone shape and is located at the opening of the dryer body. The edge of the bottom of the upper cover is located at the groove. The angle of the cone end of the upper cover makes the water drops condensed on the inner wall of the upper cover slide downward along the inner wall of the upper cover so that they are collected in the groove.

Abstract: A filtration system is provided for a clothes dryer. The filtration system includes a filtration member that receives lint laden exhaust air that is expelled from the rotating drum of the dryer into an exhaust conduit during operation. The filtration system can be disposed in a portion of the exhaust conduit that is carried by the dryer housing, or can be disposed in a conduit that is external to the dryer housing. The filtration system can be used in combination with a conventional lint screen or independently, and is configured to remove lint from the lint laden exhaust air. The filtration material can be vacuumed as desired to remove lint that has been trapped in the material.

Abstract: A drum for a clothes dryer includes a generally cylindrical sidewall rotatable about a horizontal axis. The sidewall has an outer wall and an inner wall. The inner wall defines an interior volume for receiving articles to be dried. A hanger mechanism is coupled to the inner wall. The hanger mechanism is configured to support items hanged therefrom for drying without rotation of the drum. A shelf is coupled to the inner wall. The shelf is movable between a retracted position and an extended position. When extended, the shelf is configured to support articles to be dried. The drum is stationary during drying cycles wherein the hanger mechanism and the retractable shelf are in use. A heat source is operated at a reduced power level when the drum is not rotated.

Abstract: A blower wheel for a clothes dryer has a plurality of radial fan blades and a hub having a central opening surrounding a center axis of the blower wheel. A first wall portion extends outwardly from the hub adjacent the central opening to at least partially surround the center axis. An electric motor has a shaft with a threaded shaft end portion extending through the central opening and the at least one first wall portion. The threaded shaft end portion has threads arranged in a predetermined orientation. A nut is held within the at least one first wall portion and secured to the threaded shaft end portion whereby the blower wheel rotates with rotation of the shaft.

Abstract: A method and apparatus for forming footwear, such as a sandal, with a footstrap secured to a sole by way of engagement of an insertion portion with a recess. The recess may be molded into a portion of the sole with an exposed opening at the outer surface of the sole leading to the recess formed in the sole interior. The exposed opening may be smaller in area than an area of the recess within the sole, and may be smaller that a largest cross-sectional area of the insertion portion. Thus, the insertion portion may be forced through the exposed opening, e.g., by deforming the insertion portion and/or the sole portion at the exposed opening, and received within the recess. The sole and/or insertion portion may be formed of a molded foam, e.g., that is resilient and water resistant.

A mechanism moves the trench excavating assemblage from a position within a trench to be excavated to a position for dumping excavated material. A control system is configured to operate the trench excavating assemblage in an automated off-fall control mode to remove and/or compact off-fall along at least one edge of the trench.

Abstract: A card holder includes a first or front section having a front section wall, a front radius section joining the front section wall to a front top lip, and a compartment attached to the front section wall. The compartment may be sized and shaped to hold standard business cards (which are typically about 3½ inches long and 2 inches high). A second or back section is pivotally attached to the front section by a hinge joint. The back section has a back section wall and a back radius section joining the back section wall to a back top lip. Abstract: Systems and methods for automatically generating an aim point correction for sniper operations. The present invention reduces spotter/sniper workload and improves trace spotting analysis. An example system includes a scope, a video capture component, an output device, and a processor in signal communication with the video capture component and the output device. The video capture component captures video of a bullet from when the bullet left a weapon to at least when the bullet crossed a previously determined target range. The processor determines from the captured video where the bullet was located relative to an intended target when the bullet was at the target range, generates a new aim point if the bullet was determined to have missed an intended hit point, and outputs the generated new aim point to the output device.

Abstract: A fish bite detector for use on flexible fishing rods to detect and notify the angler that a fish is biting at the bait located at the end of his fishing line. The fish bite detector comprises a first component part configured to be removably placed over an end of a fishing pole and line, a second component part configured to be removably anchored to a fixed surface or object, and line means for flexibly connecting the first component part to the second component part. Line storage means affixed to one of the first or second component parts are also provided. The line storage is preferably affixed to the closed end of the cylindrical body of the first component part.

Abstract: A rod holder mount adapted to hold a fishing rod support mechanism, the rod holder mount having a locking mechanism with an engagement feature positioned on the lateral portion where a stem portion of a fishing rod support mechanism can reposition the locking mechanism to an unlocked state and have it snap back to a locked state at a proper vertical orientation and the fishing rod support mechanism can be removed by repositioning the locking mechanism to an unlocked orientation with respect to the base portion.
