Abstract: The invention relates to a subscriber identity module for a mobile communication terminal, comprising a processing device, a memory device, an I/O device and a wireless communication device, in particular an interrogatable transponder such as an RFID transponder. The RFID transponder is operatively controllable by said processing device, and comprises a memory which contains identification data, configurable by the processing device. The RFID-enabled subscriber identification module may be used as an authentication token. A method for providing secure communications between the subscriber identification module and an RFID interrogating device is also provided.

Abstract: The present invention relates to the smart card field, and more specifically to a smart card operating system and method, to avoid the failure of non-contact communication of the smart card operating system resulting from its inability to obtain the information of access to the non-contact field in the prior art. In the present invention, the communication state control module detects whether the smart card operating system enters and/or leaves the a non-contact field; and sets the communication state of the non-contact communication module of the smart card operating system based on the detection result. By applying the technical scheme of the present invention, we can avoid the communication failure which results from the non-contact communication module inability to respond properly to the inquiry from the non-contact terminal when the smart card operating system re-enters the non-contact field.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a method for computing beamforming weighting vectors with collaborated uplink sounding in a wireless communications network. The method comprises selecting a designated uplink sounding region and a signal sequence from a set of orthogonal signal sequences; exchanging collaborated uplink sounding information between a base transceiver station (BTS) in a cell and one or more BTSs in its neighboring cells; receiving one or more first sounding signals in the designated uplink sounding region from a first CPE in the cell, which are considered as desired signals; confirming channel-sharing among the first CPE and one or more second CPEs in the neighboring cells; detecting one or more second sounding signals from the one or more second CPEs, which are considered as interference signals; and calculating the beamforming weighting vector using the first one or more sounding signals and the one or more second sounding signals.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for allocating a resource to a Mobile Station (MS) connected to a Relay Station (RS) in a broadband wireless communication system are provided. In the broadband wires communication system, a Base Station (BS) includes a transmitter for transmitting a pilot signal transmission request message to an MS, and a scheduler for frequency-selectively allocating a resource to the MS by using channel information upon receiving from an RS the channel information estimated using the pilot signal.

Abstract: In response to a connection request from a terminal, a base station provides a signal indicating a reception operation adapted to a transmission operation of the base station to the terminal. Based on the indicating signal, the terminal selects and performs the optimum reception operation. The terminal also provides its own reception operation information in advance to the base station. Based on the reception operation information, the base station transmits a reception operation indication to the terminal. These processes are realized with software by a DSP.

Abstract: A method and system selects a subset of antennas from a set of antennas to transmit user data in a wireless communication system. The user data is transmitted during a first transmission time intervals (TTI) using a first subset of antennas. Pilot tones are transmitted during a second TTI using a second subset of antennas. Corresponding channel qualities are estimated for the first subset of antennas and the second subset of antennas from the user data and the pilot tones. Then, based on the estimating, a best subset of antenna is selected from the first subset of antennas and the second subset of antennas to transmit the user data during a subsequent TTI.

Abstract: A wireless communication apparatus on the base station transmits beamformed multi-beam data to a wireless communication apparatus on the mobile station side using a multiple antennas. To obtain an expected directivity without gain reduction under the existence of phase variation in transmission circuits, the wireless communication apparatus on the base station is equipped with a code book that stores beamforming information, a precoder that reads the code book and performs processing to form a multi-beam pattern for the data, and a control unit that controls, based on feedback information, the reading of beamforming information from the code book for the compensation of phase variation.

Abstract: A processor-implemented method of placing telephone calls includes determining if a phone call initiated to a phone number has connected. If the phone call did not connect, then the processor determines if the phone number has an associated replace code for any subset of the phone number. If a replace code is determined to exist, then the processor replaces the subset of the phone number with the corresponding replace code to obtain a replace code number and initiates a phone call to the replace code number.

Characteristics of the low-pass filter are adjusted according to usage conditions, thereby effectively suppressing a white noise and popup noise during an ongoing call.

Abstract: A communication link between two isolated electrical devices provides for adjustable impedances coupled to the communication link signal paths to balance the signal paths and improve CMRR. The communication link may be a bidirectional capacitively coupled differential signal line to improve noise rejection. The capacitance may be realized as portions of circuit board traces, lead frames, IC pins and/or molding on ICs or on an IC package. The variable impedance compensates for variances in the capacitive coupling values so that the signal paths react similarly in the presence of noise or interference. Abstract: A slot machine according to the present invention comprises: a display to which a plurality of symbols are to be arranged; and a controller, the controller rearranging a plurality of symbols sequentially over a plurality of times within the display, selecting a type of symbol not subject to any winning combination with the possibility of being established in rearrangement of symbols not yet rearranged, based upon the rearranged symbols, the type of symbol selected out of a plurality of types of winning combinations with the possibility of being established by the symbols rearranged within the display and during one of the sequential rearrangement processes, and changing a display mode of the selected symbol out of the rearranged symbols.
