Abstract: A lock template includes an elongated body member that defines a substantially rectangular first opening having a first length and a first width and an elongated first member. The elongated first member is configured to be removably-inserted into first end recesses of the body such that the first member is located at least partially within the first opening. The first member, when inserted in the first end recesses of the body, defines a wall of a second opening having a length substantially equal to the first length and a width smaller than the first width. The second opening is configured to guide a cutting instrument to form a mortise for a lock component in a passageway component. When the first member is inserted into the first end recesses a longitudinal central axis of the first insert member is offset from a central axis between the first end recesses of the body.

Abstract: A solution for forming a polishing slurry, the polishing slurry and related methods are disclosed. The solution for forming a polishing slurry may include 1 H-benzotriazole (BTA) dissolved in an ionic surfactant such as a sodium alkyl sulfate solution, and perhaps a polyacrylic acid (PAA) solution. The solution can be filtered and used in a polishing slurry. This approach to solubilizing BTA results in a high BTA concentration in a polishing slurry without addition of foreign components to the slurry or increased safety hazard. In addition, the solution is easier to ship because it is very stable (e.g., can be frozen and thawed) and has less volume compared to conventional approaches. Further, the polishing slurry performance is vastly improved due to the removal of particles that can cause scratching.

Abstract: The invention resides in a frame plumbing system and method typically for the plumbing and levelling of panels, frames or walls, having an outer frame member, an inner panel/frame/wall member sized to fit within the outer frame member, and a fastener adapted to plumb the inner frame member relative to the outer frame member. The frame plumbing method includes placing an inner frame member within the outer frame member and then inserting the fastening member through the inner frame and into the outer frame member. The fastening member can be tightened or un-tightened so that the inner frame member is able to move toward or away from the outer frame member. The tightening or un-tightening the fastening means causes the inner frame member to move relative to the outer frame member until the inner frame member is situated in a plumb/level position. Once the inner frame member is plumb with the outer frame member, the inner frame member is secured to the outer frame member.

A controller is configured to receive from the sensors data representing the monitored conditions and to process this data, determining operating information related to the sealing operation and possibly fault conditions with the sealing operation. The controller is also configured to communicate with a display system and to cause this display system to activate one or more peripheral devices in order to report to a system operator, for example, the determined operating information and/or fault conditions related to the monitored conditions. In reaction to a detected fault condition, the controller may also be configured to shutdown the cap sealer system and/or to remove work pieces that the controller has determined contain a faulty condition.

Abstract: The Med-ic™ Electronic Compliance Monitor (ECM) addresses the problem of patient non-compliance with prescribed medication. The Med-ic™ ECM provides precise information about the patient's use of blister-packaged medication in clinical research and general pharmacy settings. Using an on-board central processing unit (CPU), the Med-ic™ ECM records the time each tablet or capsule is expelled from the blister package, keeping a record for later analysis. At the time of refilling or follow-up visit, the information is downloaded to the research assistant's, physician's or pharmacist's computer where it can be displayed graphically. The data can be stored for later analysis. Production of a Med-ic™ ECM Tag involves numerous steps. These steps incorporate certain methods and technologies to accomplish their objective, the steps being detailed in the specification.

Abstract: A product packaging apparatus that includes a notch former and a tab setter for creating an integrated tab on a product package. The notch former and tab setter are capable of forming a tab or an exposed area at any location of the product package, including creating a tab or an exposed area adjacent a longitudinal edge of the package. The notch former and the tab setter allow a tab to be created that has a length that extends beyond the longitudinal edge of the package. As a result, the present invention is capable of generating simple, easy to open packages that may also be re-used for re-mailing purposes.
