Abstract: The invention provides a method for balancing tire performance with both increased and decreased numbers of lugs on the ribs while also having desirable tire noise performance. This method allows the tire designer to take advantage of the benefits of both high and low pitch count patterns while minimizing undesirable tire noise. The method involves the design of the fundamental pitch of the tire tread pattern and the design of the tread pattern for the tire. The invention also provides tires incorporating the fundamental pitch and tread patterns.

Abstract: Provided is a method of manufacturing a pneumatic tire, in which the uniformity of a tire can be improved. The method of manufacturing a pneumatic tire of the present invention is a method in which a green tire is deformed by a building drum in a tire building process. The building drum used for this process is expandable and contractable in the tire radial directions. In the method, a non-adhesive sheet is disposed on the innermost surface of the green tire. The non-adhesive sheet has a coefficient of friction of 0 to 0.2 on the building drum. Then, the green tire is built in a state where the non-adhesive sheet is attached thereto.

Abstract: A continuous casting machine (1) for steel materials has a continuous casting die (6) with a casting mold (10) formed of broad-side plates (11) and narrow-side plates (13) and at which piston-cylinder units (16) are provided as actuators and support bearings. The position of the piston-cylinder units (16) is measured by field measurement devices (21), the measurement data are stored in a control (23) of the continuous casting machine (1) via fieldbus modules (22) as BUS signals and, after being processed, are fed back to the actuators as control signals. In order to acquire and process the measurement data locally at the continuous casting die (6), it is proposed that a respective hydraulic cylinder (16a) is connected to a valve stand (24) with a stationary terminal box (25) for the measurement signal lines and control signal lines (28) and that the terminal box (25) is connected to an axis regulator (30) from which the fieldbus module (22) supplies the signals to a memory-programmable control (31).

Abstract: An inlet header (22) of a microchannel heat pump heat exchanger has a tube (34) disposed therein and extending substantially the length of the inlet header (22), with the tube (34) having a plurality of openings (36) therein. During cooling mode operation, refrigerant is caused to flow into an open end of the tube (34) and along its length to thereby flow from the plurality of openings (36) into the inlet header (22) prior to entering the microchannels (24) to thereby provide a uniform flow of two-phase refrigerant thereto. A bi-flow expansion device (41) placed at the inlet end of the tube (34) allows for the expansion of liquid refrigerant into the tube (34) during periods in which the heat exchanger operates as an evaporator and allows the refrigerant to flow directly from the header (22) and around the tube (34) during periods in which the heat exchanger operates as a condenser coil.

Abstract: This present invention provides a heat-dissipating element for dissipating heat generated by a heat source in an electronic apparatus. The heat-dissipating element includes a contacting portion, an extending portion having one end connected with the contacting portion, and a chamber connected with the contacting portion and the extending portion. The chamber is filled with a working fluid and comprises a plurality of capillary structures to which the working fluid is adhered, and one end of the contacting portion contacts with the heat source to absorb the heat generated from operation while the extending portion extends in a direction away from the heat source, such that heat generated from the heat source can be conducted into the extending portion and away from the heat source, thereby facilitating heat convection with the ambient cool air and enhancing heat-dissipation efficiency.
