  • Publication number: 20080142532
Abstract: The present invention is a convenient-to-use cosmetic compact of increased stability, comprising a base, a cosmetic article carrier disposed within the base and a cap. With respect to the base, the cap is sometimes capable of translational movement and sometimes capable of rotational movement, but the cap can only perform one type of motion at a time. The type of movement that the cap may execute, depends on the relative orientation of the cap and base. There is one exception to this rule. There is exactly one orientation of the cap with respect to the base from which the user may execute either translation or rotation, but not both simultaneously. Translation of the cap with respect to the base causes translation of the cosmetic article carrier, either toward the bottom or toward the top of the base. In contrast, rotation of the cap with respect to the base does not affect the position of the cosmetic article carrier. Preferably, the cap is capable of rotating at least 180°.

Abstract: The invention includes a method of using a cap containing an internal thread form matching an external thread form on a flexible throat for a collapsible tube enclosing at least one contained product. Twisting the cap engages the internal thread form and the external thread form. These collectively urge the cap and the flexible throat to seal the contained product into the collapsible tube. Deforming the flexible throat through squeezing the collapsible tube dispenses essentially all the product. The collapsible tube may preferably include an external thread form on a flexible throat coupled to a flexible shoulder. The external thread form mates to a cap with an internal thread form urging the flexible throat to seal against the cap when the cap is twisted onto the flexible throat. This actuator includes a dispensing cylinder and a movable dispensing piston. The dispensing piston is movable tinder pneumatic pressure within the cylinder, the cylinder including a volume of hydraulic fluid under the pneumatic pressure acting against the dispensing piston to selectively prevent movement of the dispensing piston. The invention further includes a means for selectively reducing the volume of the hydraulic fluid in the dispensing cylinder to allow the controlled movement of the dispensing piston. The controlled movement of the dispensing piston causes controlled displacement of the fluid product from the dispensing container. Abstract: This application is directed to a surgical stapling device for performing circular anastomoses. The surgical stapling device includes a handle portion, an elongated body portion and a head portion including an anvil assembly and a shell assembly. The handle portion includes a rotatable approximation knob for approximating the anvil and shell assemblies and a firing trigger for actuating a firing mechanism for ejecting staples positioned within the shell assembly. The firing trigger forms one link of a two bar linkage provided to actuate the firing mechanism. The anvil assembly includes a tiltable anvil which will tilt automatically after firing of the device and unapproximating the anvil and shell assemblies. The head portion also includes a retractable trocar assembly which is slidably positioned within an anvil retainer and is automatically advanced and retracted upon attachment and detachment of the anvil assembly onto the anvil retainer.

Abstract: Provided is a plaque and its method of manufacture, the plaque including a binding material and a reinforcing material that is molded into a controlled thickness. Also provided is a solder pallet utilizing the plaque in its manufacture. The plaque can be manufactured by forming a preform of the raw materials, optionally preheating the preform, molding the preform into a plaque of the desired thickness, and then cooling the plaque at an elevated temperature to maintain the flatness of the plaque without the need for sanding or otherwise machining the plaque to the desired size. The plaque can then be formed into the desired solder pallet by cutting the plaque to appropriate dimensions, if necessary, and adding holes and/or clips for use in a soldering process for soldering circuit boards, for example.

Abstract: A pin formed at front end of a rotary tool 10 made of a metal in a rod shape is inserted between an edge of a metallic member 1 and an edge of a metallic member 1?, which inserted pin is moved along the longitudinal direction of the edges while rotating the pin, thereby generating friction heat between each of the metallic members 1 and 1? and the rotary tool 10 to weld the metallic member 1 with the metallic member 1? together. The rotary tool 10 is structured by a wide shoulder 12 and a thin pin 11 formed at the front end of the shoulder 12 and being inserted between the edges of the metallic members. Here, the pin 11 is in a right-cylindrical shape, being formed into smooth curved surface on the side thereof, and having no thread groove thereon.
