Abstract: A dual clutch transmission has a housing, a drive shaft arrangement, an output shaft and a countershaft. A plurality of gear sets is supported on the drive shaft arrangement and the countershaft, respectively. The gear sets are shifted by means of respective shifting clutches in order to engage different gears. The countershaft is connected to the output shaft via a constant output gear set. The gear sets are divided between two gear trains. A first forward gear and a reverse gear are each assigned to a different gear train. The gear set for the reverse gear is driven via an auxiliary shaft, which is in turn driven via a specific gear set. The specific gear set is assigned to the same gear train as the reverse gear.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for reducing to metallic chromium the chromium oxide material found in slag formed in an electric arc furnace during the process of making stainless steel in that furnace. The chromium oxide content of the slag can be effectively reduced to a relatively low concentration by maintaining the slag in a liquid phase while at the same time blowing into the furnace via a carrier gas certain amounts of powdered aluminum dross. In particular, powdered aluminum dross can be blown into the furnace in amounts ranging from about 10 to 20 kg of dross per ton of molten steel in the furnace. Alternatively, powdered aluminum dross can be blown into the furnace in a thrown-in amount which satisfies the equation: 0.5?[Thrown-In Al dross (ton)×100]/[Slag in Furnace (ton)×Cr2O3 (wt %)]?1.0. Via such a method used during the stainless steel making process, the recovery of valuable chromium and the rate of chromium oxide reduction can be increased.

Abstract: A cutter including a base, a holder, a cutter blade portion, and a laser generator. The holder is supported on the base portion in an upright posture. The cutter blade portion supports a moving blade. The cutter blade portion is supported on the holder movable between an upper position and a lower position. The cutter blade portion is moved into the lower position to cut a workpiece supported on the base using the moving blade. The laser generator is attached to the holder or the cutter blade portion in an orientation to direct at least a portion of the laser light onto a position on the workpiece that is directly beneath the cutter blade portion when the cutter blade portion is in the upper position. Alternatively, a holder has a shaft support portion, and a slide shaft is axially slidably supported by the shaft support portion. A front end of the slide shaft has a hinge holder which pivotally supports the cutting blade portion. A laser generator is fixed to a front side of the hinge holder.

Abstract: The invention relates to a cutting device provided with a simple design, easiness of use and with improved cleanability. This cutting device serves to cut foodstuffs into slices and strips. To this end, the device is provided with a fixed blade element, which has a cutting edge (13) and which, together with an elastically deflectable flexible tongue (9), forms an adjustable cutting gap for the item to be cut. A slideway for the item to be cut is formed by the flexible tongue (9). A shaft supporting a blade arrangement (27) extends transversal to the slideway and is equipped with disk cutters, which extend perpendicular to the axis of the shaft and which are guided though slots of the flexible tongue (9). The disk cutters project into the slideway to an extent the defines the height of cut that can be set according to the rotation angle position of said shaft.

Abstract: Speech or musical performance is electronically analyzed using DSP techniques and is compared to a stored text script or musical score, to enable display of and automated sequencing through multiple pages of the stored script or score. The performer can modify timing of sequencing if desired, for example dependent on performance speed or musical complexity. Automated highlighting or marking of measures or text assists the performer in keeping track of progress through the performance. During or after the performance, electronic comparison of the performance to the score or script provides feedback to the performer, highlighting differences between the actual performance and the desired performance as described by the score or script.
