Abstract: Components of a plurality of magnetic heads are formed on a single substrate to fabricate a magnetic head substructure in which a plurality of pre-head portions are aligned in a plurality of rows. The substructure is cut to separate the plurality of pre-head portions from one another, and the plurality of magnetic heads are thereby fabricated. The surface formed by cutting the substructure is lapped to form a lapped surface. The lapped surface is lapped so as to reach a target position of a medium facing surface. The substructure incorporates first to fourth resistor elements each of which detects the position of the lapped surface. The third and fourth detection elements are located at positions shifted from the first and second resistor elements along the direction orthogonal to the medium facing surface.

Abstract: A process for mechanical assembly and electrical interconnection of the functional components of an active implantable medical device. A first step involves preparing an interconnection flex circuit (20) that is able to be electrically and mechanically linked to an electronic circuit module (14), a supply battery (12) and a series of feedthrough terminals (16) of the device, prior to being placed in a common case. The flex circuit has a series of pads (34) for linking to homologous metallizations (46) of the substrate. The mechanical assembling and electrical linking of these pads (34) to the metallizations (46) is performed without either the use of any activation flux or introduction of fusible brazing, and rather by applying an intermediate anisotropic conductive material (38) placed between the pads (34) and metallizations (46), followed by polymerizing this material. The applying and polymerizing are performed under controlled conditions of pressure, temperature and duration.

Abstract: A drier for drying wet material includes a drying chamber with a plurality of heating region regions and a plurality of drying regions, alternatively located along the path of the material through the drier. Each of the heating regions is heated with heating fluid by a heating recirculation system wherein the heating fluid overall flows generally concurrently with the material in the chamber, but wherein the heating fluid can flow in various ways within each heating region. A fluid circulation system flows drying fluid through each of the drying regions generally in countercurrent flow relative to the flow of material through the drier, although the drying fluid can flow in various ways within each drying region. The drying fluid exiting the drier is used to preheat the heating fluid exiting the drier prior to the heating fluid reentering the drier. Makeup heat is supplied to the system.

Abstract: The present invention provides a shoe cover to adaptively fit over a shoe. The show cover has a sole, which includes at least two rigid bands of rigid material, disposed on the bottom of the sole and arranged in spaced relation to each other on opposite sides of a longitudinal axis of the sole, thereby rigidifying the sole. The sole also has an elastic band of the flexible material, spanning longitudinally between the two rigid bands from the front to the rear of the sole, thereby enabling lateral flexibility to adapt to a shoe. The present invention also provides a rigid L-shaped element, each including a first portion on the ground side, a second portion on the side wall, and a fulcrum joining them, to clamp an inserted shoe. A double injection method for producing the above is also provided.

Abstract: The general purpose of the present invention is to provide a shoe insert covering. The shoe insert covering provides a barrier between a user's sole and the insole of a shoe or a separate shoe insert. The shoe insert covering is useful for those individuals who do not want to wear socks, but desire the protection and comfort provided by a sock, as well as those placing footwear inserts into their shoes. The shoe insert covering is in the general shape of an insole and has an opening that give access to a cavity. A footwear insert is completely inserted through the opening and occupies some or most of the cavity. The shoe insert cover with the footwear insert is then placed into a shoe. A toe cover may be disposed on the top front of the shoe insert cover.

Abstract: The invention relates to a shoe sole (1) that features a pressure massage function and comprises a bottom outsole (20), a top covering sole (40), and at least one adjustable pressure massage element (10) that is located between the outsole (20) and the covering sole (40). Said pressure massage element (10) is accessible from below through the outsole (20) via a breakthrough (21) in the outsole (20) in order to adjust the pressure massage element (10). The pressure massage element (10) is provided with a bolt (11) which extends perpendicular to the shoe sole (1) and is used for applying the pressure massage to the foot. In order to be able to activate and deactivate the massage function in a simple manner, the bolt (11) is vertically adjustable at least between a lower inactive position and an upper active position in which the bolt (11) causes the covering sole (40) to rise and thus the pressure massage to be applied to the foot.
