  • Patent number: 7410524
Abstract: A process to purify biogases (i.e., landfill gas and municipal digester gas), to enable such biogases to be utilized to generate electricity and heat. Biogases from these sources generally include small amounts of organosilicons (which are particularly harmful to power generation equipment, and especially harmful to micro-turbines, reciprocating internal combustion engines, and large turbines), and halogenated chemical species (which can foul expensive emission catalysts). A fluidized media bed reactor is configured to concentrate offending organics, and is coupled with another reactor vessel configured to strip the offending organics off saturated media with a hot inert gas. The removed organics are further concentrated into an inert gas stream that is conveyed to a small flare for greater than 99% destruction. The energy required to strip the organics from the spent media, and to energize the flare, is generated by the combustion of a small quantity of the purified biogas.

  • Patent number: 7410539
Abstract: The template type substrate is used for opto-electric or electrical devices and comprises A) a layer of bulk mono-crystal nitride containing at least one element of alkali metals (Group I, IUPAC 1989) and B) a layer of nitride grown by means of vapor phase epitaxy growth wherein the layer A) and the layer B) are combined at non N-polar face of the layer A) and N-polar face of the layer B). Therefore, the template type substrate has a good dislocation density and a good value of FWHM of the X-ray rocking curve from (0002) plane less than 80, so that the resulting template type substrate is very useful for the epitaxy substrate from gaseous phase such as MOCVD, MBE and HVPE, resulting in possibility of making good opto-electric devices such as Laser Diode and large-output LED and good electric devices such as MOSFET.

Abstract: In a process for manufacturing doped semiconductor single crystal comprises solidifying in a crucible, the amount of dopant is added into the semiconductor melt after the beginning of the crystal growth onto the seed crystal, or after at least partial solidification of the semiconductor single crystal in a conical or tapered portion of the crucible. Dopant may be partially added in advance into the crucible, with the remainder added into the semiconductor melt as described. Type III-V semiconductor single crystals or wafers having a diameter of at least about 100 mm, can be prepared having an electrical conductivity of at least about 250 Siemens/cm, and/or an electric resistivity of at most about 4×10?3 ?cm, and/or a significantly improved ratio of hall mobility to charge carrier concentration.

  • Patent number: 7410542
Abstract: A roll to roll, film forming system overcoming the shortcomings of current roll to roll processing is presented; The roll to roll enabled cartridge is loaded with a bolt of fresh flexible substrate. A skate couples with a cartridge, forms a seal with the cartridge's bottom aperture and drives the cartridge along a rail to an array of deposition heads. A head mates with the cartridge top forming a pressure seal around the variable area deposition aperture. The mating of the skate, cartridge and head form a pressure vessel wherein a film forming environment may be maintained. As the substrate advances past the deposition aperture a layer is formed, potentially from bolt end to bolt end. Device growth continues from one head to another, as grown device encapsulation seal inclusive, aperture environmental seals applied, labeled cartridge is routed to dock, skate returns to system start.

Abstract: Resists can be removed while metal contamination of wafers, etc. and generation of particles, and growth of oxide films are suppressed. A substrate processing method comprises feeding a processing gas, such as ozone gas, into a processing vessel to pressurize an atmosphere surrounding a substrate. A solvent gas, such as steam, is fed into the processing vessel while the processing gas is fed into the processing vessel, whereby a resist of the substrate can be removed with the solvent gas and the processing gas while metal corrosion, etc. can be prevented.

  • Patent number: 7410545
Abstract: A substrate immersed in pure water held inside a processing bath disposed to a cleaning unit 1 and accordingly washed, as it bears an aqueous film on its surface, is transported by a substrate transportation mechanism 3 to a spin-processing unit 2. The substrate rotates in the spin-processing unit 2, thereby adjusting the thickness of the aqueous film on the substrate surface. As the aqueous film is then frozen, the volume of the aqueous film expands, adhesion between the substrates and particles adhering to the substrate surface becomes weak, or further the particles are separated from the substrate surface. The substrate transportation mechanism 3 transports thus frozen substrate to the cleaning unit 1 from the spin-processing unit 2, and the substrate is immersed in a processing liquid held inside the processing bath. The overflowing processing liquid thaws and removes the aqueous film, and particles on the substrate surface are discharged outside the substrate.
