Abstract: In a method of fabricating an exhaust gas handling device, particularly an automotive emission control device, an insert, for example comprising a substrate and a support matting, is sensed as to its specific elasticity before it is clamped in place in an outer housing. For sensing, the insert is pressurized from without in a sensing station. Via the applied pressure and the displacement of the sensing tool the displacement of the insert at which it is to be clamped in place in the outer housing is determined. Then, the insert is fitted in an outer housing the inner dimensions of which correspond to the previously sensed wanted outer dimensions of the insert in the wanted compression.

Abstract: A folding knife in exemplary embodimentsTong comprises a handle portion, a blade, a locking cross-bolt, and a motion limiting member coupled to the handle. When the blade is in the closed position, the motion limiting member is in a first position that prevents the cross-bolt from moving to its locked position. When pivoting the blade to the open position, the motion limiting member moves to a second position that does not prevent the cross-bolt from moving to its locked position. A biased safety mechanism can also be used to block the cross-bolt from moving to an unlocked position.

Abstract: An apparatus for shaving a person's hair by way of laser radiation includes a base unit with at least one laser light source, a portable unit which a user can move to the region of the hair to be cut, and also a transmission device with a plurality of optical fibers. The fibers transmit the laser radiation emitted by the at least one laser light source from the base unit to the portable unit. The ends of the optical fibers are arranged in the portable unit in such a way that the laser radiation emitted from these ends can at least partially overlap and provide for a linear beam cross section in the overlapped state.

Abstract: Molded in at least five discrete parts. Each of which are adapted to engage together to safely long wedge cut, slice, and then 3d dice a sausage food product. In this device one handle acts as a guide with no cutting means for a sausage while it's inserted in a cutter housing. The cutter housing and two handle beam apparatus could be pushed down at this point to reveal individual through slices down the sausage length. The opposite end of a two handle beam apparatus would have a cutting means for a sausage, than inserted into a cutter housing. At this point the respective cutter housing and respective two handle beam apparatus could be lifted off a food ejector to reveal long end to end wedge cuts. Both, the long end cut operation, and sliced cut operation together would create a diced sausage product.

The invention has a wide upper section that consists of two blunted knife edges that end at the top of the utensil in a three pronged fork. The center of the upper portion has a hollowed out center section that is the spoon area. Immediately below the upper section, on both side of the utensil, there are two flattened areas which allow the user to apply finger pressure on the side of the utensil when cutting food. The invention is ambidextrous.

The guard member is divided into two sub-members, which can independently move between an extended position where an outer profile of the sub-member extends beyond an outer edge of the rotary blade and a retracted position where the outer profile of the sub-member is retracted such that the outer edge of the rotary blade is exposed. Thus, the cutting edge of the rotary blade is not exposed in the area where the cutting operation is not performed, and the cutting edge is exposed only in a limited area associated with the cutting operation, such that the highly enhanced safety is realized.

Abstract: A pair of scissors with comb comprises a first blade having an edge, a second blade openably and closably supported together with the first blade and having an edge and a comb member attached to the first blade. The comb member is provided with a plurality of comb tooth groups with different characteristics from each other. The comb member is attached to and detached from the first blade. The mounting state of each comb tooth group is changed with respect to the first blade, whereby, for example, an extending direction of the comb tooth group is changed based on differences in the direction of eyebrows so that each comb tooth group can be used properly. Since an extending direction of a comb tooth of each comb tooth group inclines, the scissors with comb can be rendered convenient when eyebrows are trimmed.
