  • Patent number: 7421229
Abstract: Charge removing light is guided by an optical path defining member (623) from a charge removing unit (6) toward a photosensitive drum (2). A distance between an end surface (623e) of the optical path defining member (623) and a surface on an axially central part of the photosensitive drum (2) is less than a distance between the end surface (623e) and the surface on the axially opposite ends of the photosensitive drum (2). Thus an irradiation width and an amount of the charge removing light projected onto the surface of the photosensitive drum (2) are increased on the opposite ends. With this arrangement, the amount of generated light carriers can be reduced on the axially central part, as compared with the axially opposite ends, and a surface potential distribution non-uniformity due to a difference in nip distance between the photosensitive drum (2) and a charging roller (31) can be eliminated.

  • Patent number: 7421252
Abstract: A phase rotator for a Cartesian feedback power amplifier in a transmitter final stage contains an integrated voltage controlled tunable resonant circuit accomplishing band-pass filtering at a center frequency selected by local oscillator (LO) coarse trim control signals. The voltage controlled tunable resonant circuit attenuates input signal harmonic levels at large fractional bandwidths for the downconverter in the feedback LO path without setting a large number of poles in the band-pass filter. The binary-weighted course trim value for controlling the gain of the LO sets a bank of voltage-variable capacitors (VVC) in the voltage controlled tunable resonant circuit to control the center frequency in each of two 2-pole band-pass filters, creating a composite 4-pole band-pass filter at the input of a poly-phase quadrature generation circuit in the feedback LO path.

  • Patent number: 7421259
Abstract: An RF mixer includes a plurality of submixers coupled to a single input transistor pair and a single tail current source. An input LO signal is divided into multiple individual waveforms, each having a different phase. The phase differences are even in that the phase difference between any two time-adjacent individual waveforms is approximately equal to the phase difference between any other two time-adjacent individual waveforms. The submixers are appropriately scaled so that the individual waveforms, when summed, create a piecewise linear LO signal. The submixers also combine the individual waveforms with an input baseband signal to produce an output signal or to produce a baseband signal from an input mixed signal. In order to reduce noise in the system, only one submixer is active at any time. Further, polarities of some individual waveforms are reversed so that to avoid signal cancellation when by combining waveforms of opposite polarities.

An injection circuit may utilize current drivers to generate binary weighted currents which may be added together to produce a DC offset current. The polarity of the DC offset current and the selection of which current drivers to use may be determined by the control signals. A calibration voltage may also be utilized to correct or adjust the gain in the injection circuit.

  • Patent number: 7421261
Abstract: The present invention relates to a blind detection of a received signal having at least one property, which initially is unknown to the receiver, however, limited to a finite set of alternatives ({p1, p2, . . . , pm}). According to the invention, the unknown property is automatically identified as follows. A respective quality measure (q1, q2, . . . , qm) is derived from the incoming signal (r(n)), which each represents a particular property in the finite set of alternatives ({p1, p2, . . . , pm}). The quality measures (q1, q2, . . . , qm) are obtained according to a procedure that involves a computationally efficient rejection of any unwanted signal components in the incoming signal (r(n)). Then, the quality measures (q1, q2, . . . , qm) are compared with each other in order to find a quality measure, which best fulfills a blind selection criterion. The quality measure (qi) thus obtained corresponds to the initially unknown property (pi).

  • Patent number: 7421272
Abstract: A method and corresponding equipment by which a mobile station (wireless terminal) is able to undergo handover to another cell of a telecommunication system, and continue to receive a point-to-multicast transmission (e.g. MBMS packets) without a delay otherwise caused because of having to receive a channel (e.g. PBCCH in case of MBMS) conveying system information in the new cell and so causing the mobile station to first obtain the bearer information/location for the system information channel. The method is based on the mobile station using information in a neighboring cell information message (e.g. the MNCI message in case of an MBMS session) or other message (possibly specially defined) before changing to the new cell to determine the bearer information for the system information channel in the new cell (and also obtaining from the neighboring cell information the bearer information for receiving the point-to-multipoint transmission in the new cell).

  • Patent number: 7421273
Abstract: A method and system for servicing data traffic in wireless local area networks (such as IEEE 802.11 networks) in multiple queues having different levels of priority. These queues include at least a low priority queue for ‘best effort’ traffic, a medium priority queue for streaming data such as video pictures, and a high priority queue for voice traffic, and are serviced in order of decreasing priority. To prevent the ‘best effort’ traffic in the low priority queue from being ‘starved’, a bit is set to indicate when such a condition is likely to occur, and the low priority queue is served first when that bit has been set. Alternatively, low and medium priority traffic is handled on a weighted round-robin basis, and high priority traffic is given strict priority over both. Transmit and receive queues are handled on a rotating priority basis.
