A valve means in electrical communication with each of a sensor means and a fluid manifold effects delivery of incoming fluid to a water delivery means. The water delivery means is desirably a nozzle means selected from one of a plurality of fluidic nozzles that delivers pressurized water through an ingress defined in a rear wall of the chinaware. The nozzle desirably oscillates water for full coverage of the urinal's rear and side walls. A tarp portion that aesthetically obstructs the ingress assumes a generally scalloped shape to optimize the water distribution along the urinal's rear and side walls. At least one trough is integrated into one or more urinal sidewalls to guide water from the nozzle toward the waste removal conduit.

Abstract: A water conservation system is provided public and domestic lavatories. The system includes a distinctive flush mechanism of two features. One of these features entails a “treatment button” which, upon depression, will cause to emit a fluid compound into urinated wastewater decolorizing and sanitizing it and bringing it back to its original, colorless, odorless condition. Accordingly, potable water is not used for flushing. The urinated wastewater is “treated” and, so, remains through subsequent “treatments” until such time when solid waste is deposited necessitating a conventional flush utilizing the flush lever and usual water use. The savings in volume of water is realized upon considering the number of times the “treatment button” is executed and potable water is “not withdrawn.” The system is revolutionary in that it dispenses with a “necessary flush” each time the toilet is used. Moreover, this novel system addresses the recurring local, and national, drought emergency situations.

Abstract: A patient table, modified with a fixed-base design thereby allowing for heavy patients, providing tilting and cantilevering capabilities, table top extension (i.e. providing head to toe coverage), and overall stability, is described. The operating room table re-design includes incorporation of utility sources into the architecture of the table, so that utilities, such as wiring, vacuum, and gas hoses, arise from the table itself. The source of all utilities to the table (as opposed to those emanating from the table) may come from an underground connection. Further, the table is interchangeable with tables customized for a specific procedure.

Abstract: An orthopedic pillow is a monolithic foam structure. Spaced apart depressed top and bottom surfaces are continuous with, and are extensive between the side surfaces. The top and bottom surfaces are each formed as a plurality of side-by-side longitudinal ribs parallel with the long side surfaces. Each one of the ribs protrudes outwardly from the apparatus and is a major portion of a semi-circle in shape. The physical conformation of the apparatus is such, that with the long side surfaces resting on a mattress, the tips of the ribs are initially spaced apart from the mattress, and with a head's weight resting on the top surface, the ribs of the top surface are compressed, and the ribs of the bottom surface are urged toward the mattress providing compressive resistance proportional to the compressive force.

Abstract: A pillow system comprises a pillow having a pocket extending inside the pillow that contains one or more articles having a theme which corresponds to the theme of the outer surface of the pillow. The pillow has a top panel and a bottom panel joined at the periphery to define a peripheral edge and cushioning material disposed inside. The outer surface, having a cover theme, substantially covers one or both of the panels. The pocket extends into and is substantially enclosed by the cushioning material. Access to the pocket is through a pocket inlet along a portion of the peripheral edge. A closure mechanism, such as a zipper, at the inlet substantially closes the pocket to enclose the articles inside. The articles have an article theme that corresponds to the cover theme. If desired, the pillow can also have a theme shape that corresponds to the cover and article themes.

Abstract: A non-toxic mattress and method of constructing the mattress having a reduced toxicity has an outer layer of a material selected from the group comprising polyethylene and polylactic acid film. Also, a mattress cover for covering the outer layer of the mattress can also be constructed from a material selected from the same group of materials. The polyethylene and polylactic acid films are non-toxic materials which reduce adverse human allergenic reactions or exposure to potentially harmful chemicals used in the mattress construction.

Abstract: A system and method for maintaining an air inflation mattress configuration sufficient for patient support and comfort. Infrared illumination levels are measured within individual or groups of inflated mattress chambers. A staggered approach to illumination monitoring of chambers or sections to eliminate crosstalk between the infrared sensors is carried out. Distributed microprocessor controllers established in a network configuration utilizing controller network protocols reduces the wiring and connections necessary for the assembled system. Various mattress cushion construction techniques, such as sewing and or RF welding methods, are used for the creation of individual chambers utilizing specific types of IR translucent, transparent or reflective materials. The construction of the cushions and bladders in the system includes the use of various types of fabrics with low to high air loss qualities as required.

The method for controlling spin-drying of the washing machine, which has a rotary drum for containing clothes, a motor for rotating the rotary drum, and a fan for circulating air into the rotary drum, includes determining whether or not a delicate course is selected; performing low-speed spin-drying in which the rotary drum is rotated at a low speed by operating the motor at a low RPM, when it is determined that the delicate course is selected; and supplying cold air to the inside of the rotary drum by operating the fan together with the low-speed spin-drying.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are a washing machine and a rinsing control method of the same that is capable of increasing spin-drying RPM before the final rinsing, such that the spin-drying RPM before the final rinsing is higher by a specific percentage than a predetermined RPM, to strongly squeeze out residual detergent, contained in laundry, from the laundry, and adding soaked rinsing time, during the final rinsing, to completely dissolve residual detergent contained in laundry, thereby improving the rinsing efficiency. The washing machine includes a rotary drum to receive laundry and a motor to rotate the rotary drum. The rinsing control method includes determining whether a current operation is a rinsing operation, and, when the current operation is the rinsing operation, controlling intermediate spin-drying RPM and rinsing time to remove residual detergent from the laundry.
