Abstract: A spring-loaded device is installed into a node housing at a predetermined location. The predetermined location is selected to correspond to another predetermined location into which a stinger may be installed. These predetermined locations on the node housing are selected to further correspond to a predetermined internal location of an RF interface connector. A conducting pin of the RF interface extends through a dielectric between a nail head shaped end, which provides electrical connection with the stinger projection, and an end soldered to a PCB of the amplifier. The amplifier may be installed and the node housing closed before the stinger and spring-loaded device are installed into the housing. This facilitates installation of the stinger into the housing without having to open the housing and remove the amplifier. External threads on the spring-loaded device facilitate installation thereof, but a unique torque is not required therefor.

Abstract: According to various aspects, exemplary embodiments are provided of thermopneumatic capillary micropumps and manufacturing methods thereof. In one exemplary embodiment, a thermopneumatic capillary micropump generally includes a lower substrate having a pump-entrance for injecting fluids and a pump-exit for exhausting the fluids. The micropump also includes one or more micro-heaters for generating heat and electrodes for applying voltage to the micro-heaters. One or more air chambers substantially cover the micro-heaters. A pump chamber unit, which is capable of being filled up with the fluids, is coupled to the air chambers, the pump-entrance, and the pump-exit. An airing channel is coupled to the air chambers for helping maintain the pressure of the air in the air chambers at about the same level. An oxide layer is deposited on an upper substrate of the micropump. The upper and lower substrates are thermopneumatically coupled to each other.

Abstract: The invention relates to a method for producing an internal combustion engine piston which is provided with at least one cooling channel (12) and at least one reinforced piston ring groove (14) consisting in producing a piston blank (1), in forming a groove (10) provided with a cooling channel (12) and an external ring (11) in said piston blank (1), in filling the cooling channel (12) with are movable material (2), in filling the external ring with a reinforcing material (3) in removing the removable material (2) and in finish-machining the piston. A piston made of aluminium alloy and produced according to the inventive method is also disclosed.

The porous material may include an inner central spar capable of supporting the turbine airfoil an outer porous region and an outer coating. The porous material facilitates efficient cooling of the turbine airfoil.

Abstract: A liquid ejection head includes a liquid chamber configured to contain liquid to be ejected from a nozzle, a liquid ejection member including the nozzle, and an energy generating element configured to provide energy to the liquid contained in the liquid chamber. The energy generating element ejects the liquid contained in the liquid chamber from the nozzle as a liquid droplet. A depression is formed on a surface of the liquid ejection member around the nozzle such that an opening of the depression has a width greater than a width of an opening of the nozzle and the nozzle is positioned at the bottom of the depression. The interior angle of the bottom corner of the depression is determined to be greater than 90 degrees.

According to the steering wheel, first circular grooves G11 where at least one of upper foam member 114 and lower foam member 116 is fitted are formed along the circumference of rim 112a of frame 112 to prevent rotation of the foam members and reduce the weight of the frame.

As the comb is moved to the operable position for hair trimming, the guard is retracted so that it will not interfere with the passage of longer hairs between the teeth of the comb.

A method of manufacture of the knife blade includes fine blanking the back piece of from a sheet of the first alloy, laser cutting the cutting-edge piece from a sheet of the second alloy, and brazing the first piece to the second piece to form a composite blade. The composite blade is then cooled from the brazing temperature to an austenizing temperature of the cutting-edge piece, and quenched, to harden the cutting-edge piece.

Abstract: An elastic overshoe has an outer layer through which extend a plurality of protrusions. The protrusions are preferably carried on an inner layer, which is sandwiched between the outer layer and the shoe upon which the overshoe is placed. Inner layer segments can run the length of the overshoe, or more preferably include only a ball region of a toe region. The openings can have any practical size, shape, orientation and arrangement of openings, although of course at least some of the openings must be aligned with at least some of the protrusions, and ideally the protrusions will fit snugly within the openings to avoid tearing of the openings. The inner and outer layers can advantageously have different chemical compositions. The inner layer, for example, can be tougher, while the outer layer could be more stretchable.

Abstract: Shoe uppers having smooth seams and methods for producing them are disclosed. In one embodiment the upper uses thermoplastic seam tape which forms bonds between contiguous upper sections after being subjected to heat and/or pressure. In another embodiment, different parts of the shoe can be joined using hidden seams. Close seams can also be covered with a transfer material adapted to give the interior and/or exterior of the upper a smooth surface. In yet another embodiment, a method is disclosed which allows three-dimensional upper sections to be bonded on a last using thermoplastic seam tape.

Abstract: A membrane designed to surround the front portion of the foot and protect it from pressure that may be applied by shoes. The membrane acts as a protective barrier between the shoe and the wearer's foot. As a result, direct abrasion of the foot caused by portions of the shoe is reduced. Additionally, the membrane is designed to spread the pressure exerted by portions of the shoe, such as straps, to a significantly larger surface area of the wearer's foot. The membrane is worn on the front portion of the foot between the toes and the heel.

The present invention relates to stud placement and is not limited in terms of the composition, design, number, size or configuration of the studs themselves, as long as they are located in the gulch area of the outsole.

Abstract: A fluid shovel apparatus that pushes and lifts loose material such as snow, leaves, sand, dirt, grass clippings, mulch, or the like. The present invention includes at least one fluid exhaust port located in a blade. Pressurized fluid flows through the blade and ejects out through the at least one fluid exhaust port towards loose material. The loose material floats on a cushion of pressurized fluid that forms between the blade and the loose material. The loose material is pushed away from the blade and is lifted in an upward direction. Additionally, the fluid shovel apparatus may further include a brush assembly and an ice scraper blade to assist in removing material from a surface of a motor vehicle. Additionally, the fluid shovel apparatus may be used to deliver a fire suppressant pressurized fluid upon a material that is burning.
