Abstract: A multi-layer business form comprises a top image receiving layer of coated polyester film, a bottom laminating layer of vinyl film, and a paper insulating layer adhered between these two layers so that the business form may be printed through a laser printer or other printer that employs elevated temperatures without fusing the film layers together. Die cuts in the business form define a self laminating wristband comprising a top imaging layer and a laminating layer which, after the form is printed, may be separated from the form along the die cuts, assembled by folding the laminating layer over the imaging layer to encapsulate it, and secured to a wearer's wrist with at least one adhesive coated tab extending from a side of the laminating layer.

Abstract: A fishing jig includes a fish hook integral construction with a center axis having a hook curve trailing extremity with a hook point, and a straight hook shank extending forwardly from the hook curve. An eye bend extends forwardly and upwardly at an eye bend radius point at an angle of substantially 20° relative to the axis of the hook shank, and terminating in a line-attachment eye leading extremity. A weighted metal body is connected to and distributed symmetrically along the hook shank and the eye bend. The body has a mass distribution which is greater below the center axis of the hook than above the center axis of the hook by creating a wedge on a lower portion of the body that counterbalances weight of the hook curve and the hook point. A center of gravity is defined above the wedge at substantially the eye bend radius point such that the jig assumes an upright position in which the hook shank is maintained and has a substantially horizontal attitude.

  • Publication number: 20080250694
Abstract: A linkable sinker which is particularly suitable for trolling can be used alone or linked end-to-end with similar sinkers. The sinker has an elongated weight with a weight passage and a wire member passing therethrough. The wire member terminates at a leading eye and a trailing eye; the eyes are spaced apart sufficiently that the wire member can be slid in the weight passage to remove a trailing eye leg from the weight passage to open the trailing eye, thereby allowing the leading eye of another sinker to be connected to form an articulated sinker. A resilient hood of compressible material is preferably provided, covering the leading eye. The resilient hood covers the space between adjacent weights when linked together. Preferably, the trailing eye is maintained in engagement with a trailing end of the weight to secure the leading eye of a subsequent sinker when connected to the trailing eye.

  • Publication number: 20080250695
Abstract: A number of stackable weights can be bundled together and secured with a lashing to form a modular sinker of a desired weight. Each stackable weight has an elongated bar bounded by four side surfaces and having a fixed eye. A link member is movably attached to the fixed eye and terminates in a coupling eye. The link member provides a degree of motion between the coupling eye and the fixed eye of the bar, allowing the coupling eyes of multiple stackable weights to be connected together to a single fastener while the bars are positioned together in a side-by-side relationship. When so connected, the link members form a pyramid-shaped coupling structure that will reduce the likelihood of snagging the resulting modular sinker. The bars preferably have textured side surfaces to frictionally engage each other to maintain the bars parallel and to retain an elastic band that provides the lashing.

Abstract: A line shield has a tube that can be secured with respect to a sinker to guide the sinker over submerged obstructions. The tube has a tube passage, through which a line attached to the sinker passes, and terminates at a tube leading end and a tube trailing end. The tube is preferably secured to the sinker by a resilient hood having a hood passage sized to frictionally fit over the tube trailing end, and to frictionally fit over an eye of the sinker or a connecting element attached thereto, such as a snap. The frictional engagement of the resilient hood with the eye and the tube trailing end maintains the tube in close proximity to the sinker or connecting element. In use, the tube leading end is raised so that the tube acts as a ramp-shaped deflector to guide the sinker over obstructions.

Abstract: Pulp production techniques are disclosed. In one embodiment, pulpstone segments are provided, that include proppant grits in the place of some or all of the conventional abrasive typically used in pulpstone applications. The proppant or proppant-abrasive mixture can be combined into a three-dimensional matrix supported by a vitrified bond. Alternative embodiments use proppant grits in an organic bond or a metal bond or a cement bond (each of which may also include abrasive grits in addition to proppant grits). The proportion of proppant grits to abrasive grits can be varied to produce pulp of varying fiber length distribution as required by the end-user (e.g., paper mill). The greater the proppant concentration, the less cutting of the fibers by the conventional abrasive will occur, producing a greater percentage content of longer fibers. Such pulp produces higher quality paper.

The assembly includes a support tube extending partly within the lower end of the cylindrical housing. The bottom of the support tube is connected to a ceiling grid junction. A threaded rod has an upper portion extending above the upper end of the housing, and a lower portion extending through the housing to connect to the top of the support tube. An exterior spring fits over the upper portion of the rod, and an interior spring fits over the lower portion of the rod. Nuts on the rod provide means to tension both springs into slight compression, defining a spring-biased normal position for the support tube.
