Abstract: A quadrature demodulator generates an I-signal from a modulated reception signal and a local signal, generates a Q-signal from the local signal and the local signal having a phase shifted through 90 degrees. Capacitors remove DC components from the I- and Q-signals. Low-pass filters remove frequency components higher than the frequencies of the I- and Q-signals. An I-signal squaring section squares the I-signal having passed through the low-pass filters. A Q-signal squaring section squares the Q-signal having passed through the low-pass filters. An adding section adds the squared I-signal and the squared Q-signal together. A comparator then compares the level of an S1 signal resulting from the addition with a threshold to obtain an S2 signal. A data generating section of a digital signal processing section executes a process of inverting the signal level of the S2 signal at every rising edge of the S2 signal to demodulate reception data.

Abstract: A method, system, and computer program product are provided for communicating to a powered element in a rack system. A controller injects communication data onto power lines that provides power to a plurality of powered elements. The powered elements determine if the communication data transmitted via the power lines should be used for configuration using an address embedded within the communication data. The powered elements compare an embedded target address within the communication data to the address of the particular element. If there is a match between the addresses, the corresponding powered element processes the communication data to configure the powered element. As a result, data may be communicated over the power lines thereby eliminating the need for separate communication lines. Thus, the amount of cables required to interconnect the powered elements of the distributed data processing system may be reduced by eliminating the communication lines from the system configuration.

Abstract: In accordance with the present disclosure, newly acquired position is transmitted to a service center to accurately provide a vehicle position when a starting trigger of an emergency call occurs even in a situation where position information is unobtainable from a navigation system. When a problem occurs in a navigation system or a communication line while the navigation system is running, and an in-vehicle emergency call unit becomes unable to receive position information from the navigation system, the in-vehicle emergency call unit saves position information that a positioning unit has acquired by autonomous positioning instead of position information received from and acquired by the navigation system. The in-vehicle emergency call unit then transmits to a service center the saved position information when a starting trigger occurs.

Abstract: A method of managing data communications in a wireless security system. A message is transmitted from a fixed location security device and received by at least two transceivers. Each transceiver analyzes the received message to generate RSSI data. A digital message including the RSSI data is sent from each transceiver via a wired connection to a control panel, which analyzes the RSSI data from each transceiver to determine which transceiver generated the highest RSSI. The control panel then designates data exchange responsibility to the transceiver with the highest RSSI. That transceiver will have responsibility for acknowledging messages from that security device and send data to that security device from the control panel. A transceiver will be allocated to a portable security device if it is the first to receive the wireless message rather than on RSSI data.
