Publication number: 20080271970Abstract: A torque arm assembly for a backstopping clutch is provided that enables load sharing among multiple torque arm assemblies, controlled release of load on the torque arm assembly and load sensing. The torque arm assembly includes a head member that is connected to an outer race of a backstopping clutch and defines a pair of attachment points. One end of an arm member is pivotally connected to one attachment point of the head member while the other end of the arm member is connected to a stationary structure. A strut extends between the other attachment point of the head member and the arm member. Upon backstopping action by the clutch, the head member rotates slightly against the force of the strut allowing other torque arm assemblies to receive a portion of the system load. Movement of a strut seat then allows controlled release of the load tension.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 3, 2007Publication date: November 6, 2008Inventor: David Pearson Stoltze

Publication number: 20080271988Abstract: Diffusion of water or oxygen present in the dielectric protection film is restrained by eliminating free oxygen in an oxide thin film while maintaining the characteristics of a dielectric protection film. As the dielectric material for forming a dielectric protection film for an optical disc or the like, an oxide mixture thin film of a niobium oxide and one of a silicon oxide and a titanium oxide is used. In a preferable example, a target made of a niobium oxide as the main component with 1 to 30% by weight of a silicon oxide added is used for formation of an oxide thin film by sputtering. Moreover, the oxide thin film is formed preferably in a nitrogen atmosphere. A nitrogen containing oxide thin film is produced by carrying out sputtering using a target with the oxygen lacked and a minute amount of nitrogen added. Thereby, a thin film having little reducing function and a high barrier property while having the characteristics comparable to a complete oxide can be produced.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 18, 2005Publication date: November 6, 2008Inventors: Yasuo Hosoda, Takanobu Higuchi, Takashi Ueno

Publication number: 20080272002Abstract: Significantly higher yield and better resolution in pI gels are obtained by creating traps having two or more layers of gel containing closely stepped immobilized pH buffers. Proteins move from a pH at which they are negatively charged towards an anode at which they are positively charged. Discrete regions containing immobilized pH buffers trap the proteins when the immobilized buffer pH and the protein pI are approximately the same. The protein is trapped within the second layer and not on the surface of or interface of the second layer. Publication number: 20080272011Abstract: A four-ply paper board hanging hole in a display box for hanging a display box from a support rod. This is accomplished by the use of a paper board die blank having a hanging hole in four layers of the box such that, when the box is assembled, the four hanging holes are aligned to provide a strongly reinforced hanging hole which proves quite difficult to rip. Therefore, an increased aesthetic appearance of the display box is achieved, resulting in increased sales and minimal wasting of display box products.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 4, 2007Publication date: November 6, 2008Inventors: Gordon Levy, Ken Pepper, John Chaisson, Jonathan Curts

Publication number: 20080272015Abstract: This invention is a convertible golf club carry bag/golf cart bench mat. The device is a single unit that is easily converted from a bag to a mat and vice versa. In a folded, zipped position it may be utilized as a golf club carry bag. In an unfolded, unzipped position it may be utilized as a mat to place on a golf cart bench seat for comfort. To add or remove clubs, the zippers are opened partially or fully to gain access to the clubs, according to the golfer's preference. The mat is held in place on a golf cart by unzipped side openings surrounding the cart railings.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 4, 2007Publication date: November 6, 2008Inventor: Carol H. Ruhle

Publication number: 20080272017Abstract: A suspension tag for a socket wrench is disclosed which provides a measure for easy and secured hanging of the socket wrench. The suspension tag includes a tag body forming a receptacle seat defining a bore to rotatably receive therein a fitting cap. The fitting cap forms a hollow frame section to receive a drive piece of the wrench therein. The hollow frame has an elastically deformable top panel that is connected to side panels in a limited moveability manner. The top panel forms an internal projection that, when brought into contact with the drive piece of the wrench at the time the wrench is inserted into the fitting cap, forces the top panel to deform and displace upward to allow the project to reach and thus engage a hole defined in the drive piece of the wrench that retains a spring-biased sphere therein so as to secure the wrench to the fitting cap and thus the suspension tag.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 3, 2007Publication date: November 6, 2008Inventor: CHI-TSAI CHANG
