Publication number: 20080296010Abstract: A method and arrangement for determining the capacity of a heat exchanger is provided. The effective heat transfer coefficient for the heat exchanger is calculated from the measured inlet and outlet temperatures of the product and the measured inlet and outlet temperatures of the auxiliary medium. By means of the value, the outlet temperature of the product set for maximum flow of the auxiliary medium is determined as that at which the change in the heat content of the product is at least approximately the same as the change in the heat content of the auxiliary medium and the amount of heat transmitted by the heat exchanger for the product flow. The value is displayed to the user and permits a decision as to how much longer the heat exchanger can reliably be operated.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 29, 2005Publication date: December 4, 2008Inventor: Karl-Heinz Kirchberg

Publication number: 20080296016Abstract: Force balancing adjusts hydraulic fluid pressure in an upper piston area of a Rotating Pressure Control Device (RPCD) that has an inner housing rotatably engaged within an outer housing by an upper bearing and a lower bearing. The hydraulic fluid pressure is adjusted to balance net force in a upper piston area and a lower piston area. Publication number: 20080296021Abstract: In cutting a downhole pipe in proximity to a closure in the pipe, the pipe is first perforated. A perforating torch is positioned with a pipe in proximity to the closure. The perforating torch produces cutting fluids in a first radial direction and produces an opening in the pipe, which cutting fluids produce a reaction force opposite to the first radial direction. This reaction force drives the perforating torch into contact with the pipe, anchoring it against any pressure wave produced by the cutting fluids and reflected off of the closure. Once the pipe is opened, a cutting torch is operated to sever the pipe. Any pressure wave generated by the cutting torch is vented through the opening.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 28, 2008Publication date: December 4, 2008Inventor: Michael C. Robertson

Further, by employing the conductor layer 34 as a power supply layer, it is possible to improve a capability of supplying power to the IC chip.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 21, 2008Publication date: December 4, 2008Applicant: IBIDEN CO., LTD.Inventors: Yasushi INAGAKI, Katsuyuki SANO

Publication number: 20080296054Abstract: A multilayer chip carrier with increased space for power distribution PTHs and reduced power-related noise. In a multilayer chip carrier with two signal redistribution fanout layers, in addition to signal escape from near-edge signal pads at the first fanout layer, remaining signal pads are moved closer to the edge of the chip footprint. At the voltage layer below the first fanout layer, the remaining signal pads are moved again, closer to the edge of the chip footprint. In the second fanout layer, below the voltage layer, the remaining signal pads escape. The region where signal pads are moved provides increased space for power PTHs.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 30, 2008Publication date: December 4, 2008Inventors: Jean Audet, Irving Memis

Publication number: 20080296056Abstract: A printed wiring board has a substrate having a first surface and a second surface on both sides of the substrate. A cavity is provided on the first surface. The cavity caves in towards the second surface. Several bumps are formed in the cavity as protruding towards the first surface. An insulation layer is filled in the cavity. The bumps are isolated from one another by the insulation layer. The top of each bump that protrudes towards the first surface and a zone in the cavity and close to the top are exposed in the cavity without being covered by the insulation layer.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 24, 2008Publication date: December 4, 2008Applicant: Victor Company of Japan, Ltd.Inventors: Tohru Kinoshita, Toshinobu Kanai

Publication number: 20080296057Abstract: Systems and methods for simultaneously partitioning a plurality of via structures into electrically isolated portions by using plating resist within a PCB stackup are disclosed. Such via structures are made by selectively depositing plating resist in one or more locations in a sub-composite structure. A plurality of sub-composite structures with plating resist deposited in varying locations are laminated to form a PCB stackup of a desired PCB design. Through-holes are drilled through the PCB stackup through conductive layers, dielectric layers and through the plating resist. Thus, the PCB panel has multiple through-holes that can then be plated simultaneously by placing the PCB panel into a seed bath, followed by immersion in an electroless copper bath. Such partitioned vias increase wiring density and limit stub formation in via structures. Such partitioned vias allow a plurality of electrical signals to traverse each electrically isolated portion without interference from each other.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 12, 2008Publication date: December 4, 2008Applicant: SANMINA SCI CORPORATIONInventor: George Dudnikov, JR.
