Abstract: A protective limb guard device for use in athletic or sporting activities is provided wherein the device comprises layers of conformable impact absorbing material that are formed to meet the shape of the user's limbs without the need for custom fitting. The limb guard of the present invention may include an inflatable tube instead of a layer of impact absorbing material.

Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing a sock for holding shin guards/pads (e.g., soccer shin guards/pads) in position along a player/participant's shin. The apparatus may include an upper section for substantially covering a lower part of a user's leg such as a shin and, optionally, a lower section for substantially covering a player's foot and/or ankle connected to the upper section to form a sock. The upper section has a compression section having a compression factor of less than about 9 inches in order to hold and/or secure a shin-guard in place upon a player/participant's shin. The compression section may comprise an upper compression section and a lower compression section separate and distinct from the upper section.

Abstract: Disclosed is a cape adapted to be worn by a person in a beauty salon. The cape comprises a garment and a neck liner. The garment is configured to enclose at least a torso portion of the person. The garment comprises an inner surface and an outer surface opposite to the inner surface. The outer surface is configured with a symbolic design. The neck liner is on the inner surface and is adapted to cover a neck-portion of the person.

Abstract: An accessory for a bathing suit top, the accessory minimizes the tension felt on the neck of a wearer. The accessory has a four-cornered body. The body has an upper, lower, left, right, bottom and top side. The upper and lower sides of the body are substantially parallel and are from about two inches to about five and a half inches apart. The left and right sides of the body are from about one inch to about two and a half inches apart. The accessory further has four appendages. Each appendage has a first and a second end. The first end of each appendage attaches to each corner of the body. The appendages flow outward from the body at an angle that might range from about thirty-five degree to about fifty-five degree from either the upper or lower side of the body. Each appendage defines an eyelet adjacent to the second end of each appendage.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a via ferrata safety system that improves user safety by increasing the reliable activation of the energy absorption system. The via ferrata system includes a harness coupling member, two fixed cable coupling members, and an energy absorption system. The energy absorption system is coupled to both the harness coupling member and the two fixed cable coupling members. The two fixed cable coupling members are independently coupled to the energy absorption system and to one another. The coupling between the two fixed cable coupling members is proportionally weaker than the independent coupling between the two fixed cable coupling members and the energy absorption system. This proportional weakness of the coupling between the fixed cable coupling members allows each of the fixed cable coupling members to act independently in the event that one of the cable coupling members is coupled to a point between the user and the energy absorption system.

The garment is formed of a fray-preventing knitted fabric woven with heat-welding elastic yarn. Sizes of opening parts of the neck, side, and bottom of the garment are smaller than those of a standard product; a total length and sleeve length of the garment are larger than those of the standard product; and a body width, cuff, waist, and lower bottom edge of the garment are equal to those of the standard product. The garment can be cut into any design shape and can be used with the opening parts left cut-off.

The elastomeric article is formed with a region of adhesive material, and a slippery material is applied so as to at least partially cover an underlying adhesive material. The slippery material may be applied so as to only partially cover the adhesive, or applied to completely cover the adhesive material and then etched using solvent to expose the underlying adhesive material, or applied in conjunction with a masking material.

Abstract: An improved glove that significantly enhances the ability of the user to grip and manipulate a variety of differently configured objects and particularly to grip and manipulate objects between the thumb and the index finger. The improved glove exhibits a multiplicity of elastomeric gripping dots on the palm side of the glove and on both sides of the thumb portion of the glove to enable the user to securely grip and manipulate various types of articles.

Abstract: A service trouser garment which detaches below a waist portion with an integral continuous belt sleeve having multiple slots or with a multiplicity of belt loops to receive a single duty belt, a detachable lower portion, and a horizontal attachment mechanism joining the waist portion and the detachable lower portion. The service trouser garment is specifically designed to alleviate the problems particular to police officers and other service personnel who must wear duty belts with various equipment items such as guns, ammunition, and radios, all of which must be considered when attempting to use toilet facilities. The service trouser garment also allows placement of those equipment items on the duty belt in positions which are comfortable to the wearer.

Abstract: A stirrup for securing the end of a pant leg to the foot of a wearer. The stirrup has a base web and at least three arms projecting therefrom. Each arm has a fastener such as alligator jaws style, for engaging the pant leg at at least three points about its circumference, to avoid bunching. The base member may comprise an elastic fabric and may include a length adjusting mechanism. Alligator jaw fasteners may instead comprise buttons, hooks, hook and loop material, or snaps. The stirrup may be made from denim, leather, cotton, satin, lace, or nylon. The base web may optionally form a sock.

Abstract: This invention relates generally to a disposable sock with an inner liquid impermeable layer on the portion that covers the sole of the foot, and a breathable outer layer that encases the liquid impermeable layer and encases the remaining portion of the foot. The characteristics of the present invention increase circulation in the foot, aid in the absorption of a multitude of compounds, including lotions, ointments, or therapeutics to the foot, while minimizing bacterial growth, are cost efficient, lightweight and easy to use.

Abstract: A clothing strap tensioning device has an elastic member having a geometry generally defined by middle, left end, and right end portions, and bounded by upper, lower, left and right edges, and includes mechanical snaps or other releasable attachment mechanisms integrated into the left end and right end portions for enabling releasable attachment of the end portions to each other to form the elastic member into a loop. The tensioning device is looped around a pair of spaced vertical straps of a brassiere, such that the straps are drawn toward each other medially to prevent the straps from slipping down the shoulders of a wearer and to impart an upward lift to the wearer's breasts. The geometry of the elastic member also prevents twisting of the straps.

Abstract: The present invention describes an apparatus and associated method of use that ensures that the sensor contained within the strap of a chest strap type heart rate monitor remains directly over the heart thereby providing the user with the most constant and reliable heart rate data. In one embodiment an attachable harness is fitted with loops that fit over the strap of a typical chest strap type heart rate monitor. The harness then fits over the shoulders of a user and prevents the sensor within the strap of the heart rate monitor from downward slippage due to activity of the user.

Abstract: A protective garment for nuclear environments is formed of a tri-laminate 30/30/30 water resistant barrier fabric. The garment can be incinerated so as to provide a disposable, one time use coverall particularly adapted for use in nuclear/radioactive environments. The coverall provides integrated elements for water resistant (i.e., splashproof), breathable, comfortable contamination protection. It is adapted for use with various types of breathing apparatuses, included external air lines, back-mounted self-contained breathing apparatuses (SCBA), and emergency breathing bottles or apparatuses. Air tanks and bottles are covered by the garment and thus do not need to be decontaminated. The garment also includes elements for use with air sampling devices and/or dosimetry equipment that are often worn by such workers.

Addition of a heating unit to a toilet seat body provides a dual function apparatus which can be warmed to several temperature settings. The air purification system includes a filter (104) for arresting odorous smells, a blower (110) for drawing the noxious odors from the toilet bowl, and a UV lamp (122) for killing harmful bacteria and viruses.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a cageless lavatory dispensing device comprising a hanger (10) and a compressed solid block (50). The hanger (10) has a hook end (20) for suspending the dispensing device to a sanitary-appliance, and the compressed solid block (50) comprises at least one chemical agent. A process for delivering a treatment composition to a sanitary appliance is also disclosed. Abstract: Apparatus and method for a cordless pedal flush system 12 for a tank-type toilet 10, employing a floor-positioned RF foot pedal transmitter actuator 14 and a tank-mounted RF receiver flusher actuator 16 installed within the tank. The RF receiver flusher actuator 16 operates independently of the manual flush handle lever 24 employed on most tank-type toilets. The system is powered by its own self-contained DC power source and when activated causes a flushing of the toilet. The system is activated when the user depresses and releases, with the foot, a push button foot switch 20 employed on the RF foot pedal transmitter actuator 14. This action will initiate a toilet flush without the act of touching the flush handle with the hand. Once the RF foot pedal transmitter actuator 14 is activated, it transmits an RF coded command signal to the RF receiver flusher actuator 16.

Abstract: Plumbing fixtures are disclosed having acoustic electromagnetic transducers mounted thereon to transmit music or other vibrations to the fixture interior. The mounting assembly provides for a shield that reduces exposure of those in the fixture to a magnetic field generated by the transducers. In one form there is a post extending from the transducer, through the shield, to a bracket on the housing. Other structures are provided to facilitate removability of the shield and transducer for maintenance purposes.

The individual vertical crib bumpers also provide critical safety features that resolve long outstanding safety hazards of the standard and widely used conventional crib bumper.

The flap closure now secures the condom from being misplace when continual movement occurs through out the entire pillowcase. The condom is secure inside the pocket by pushing the added flap in a downward motion with your fingers overlapping the insertion opening entrance. Moreover, pulling the flap in an upward motion open the non-stitch side to gain entry through out the pocket body where the condom can be retrieve. The flap closure is sewn into the pillowcase fabric ½ inch above the pocket entrance. The flap is the same measurement in width for the pocket, and it securely fit over the insertion opening evenly across on to the pocket.

Abstract: A patient foot and leg support system which may be easily and quickly attached to and replace exam-type supports on a standard GYN exam table. The boot-type supports of the present invention are configured and positioned to provide maximum patient comfort over the prolonged periods demanding of certain medical procedures which would not otherwise be possible using the exam-type foot and leg supports typically used with GYN exam tables. As such, a doctor may easily convert their existing GYN exam table into a procedure table within their office as desired.

Abstract: The invention generally pertains to a pillow convertible between an open position as a food and beverage holder and a closed position as a pillow. By way of example, the pillow has a first and second pillow portion that may be coupled and uncoupled to switch between a closed position and an open position. The pillow also has a food surface member with one or more beverage holders that is sized to fit within the interior of the pillow in the closed position. In another example, the food surface member is a two-piece construction with a slidable tray lock that moves between a first position when the pillow is closed and a second position that secures the two pieces together as a substantially coplanar surface when the pillow is open. In yet another example, the beverage holder is tapered so as to fit a variety of sizes of beverage containers.

Valve assemblies include, in separate components or in integrated form, a vent body defining an external orifice, an internal orifice in fluid communication with the external orifice, and an inflatable body interface. Extending from the internal orifice is a collapsible, hollow elongate member defining longitudinal and lateral axes. Abstract: An infant sleep positioner for holding an infant. The infant sleep positioner comprises a frame and a support end for holding or supporting an infant in an elevated position. The infant sleep positioner may be provided with a knee bolster to support the legs of the infant. Side bolsters that are releaseably attached, permanently fixed, and/or integrally molded to the frame may be provided to receive and prevent the infant from rolling off of the infant sleep positioner. Also, wings molded to the frame may be employed. Various means for adjusting the height of the support end of the frame and the elevated position of the infant are also provided. Ventilation holes can be included to assist in providing increased airflow and ventilation to the infant. A covering for the infant sleep positioner may be used to assist in releaseably attaching or permanently affixing the side bolsters to the frame and/or to provide varying materials in supporting the infant and covering the frame.

Abstract: This invention relates to a method and apparatus for washing articles. Said method and apparatus enabling efficient cleaning and drying of garments and other items within a receptacle (29) having no rotational components. In a preferred embodiment, this is achieved by providing at least one receptacle (29) for containing the washing articles, the receptacle (29) having a plurality of subdivisions for accommodating separate articles. The present invention also includes a plurality of spray distribution nozzles (15, 16) to direct a suitable quantity of water and detergent onto the separate washing articles and then controlling a pre-determined cycle of washing and rinsing. As the washing articles are washed and dried separately, the creases that are associated with prior art washing machines are significantly reduced, and the garments are ready to wear without the further laborious and time-consuming task of ironing.

The wash load within the basket is washed after the rotatable basket is rotated to redistribute the wash load.
