Abstract: Transport ships having a relatively large structure over the water line, such as a pure car carrier, container ship and a passenger ship tend to receive the air resistance during the sailing. When sailing aslant against the wind, check helm had to be effected so far to cancel the swinging moment causing an extra increase in the underwater resistance. A low-fuel-consumption transport ship described has a structure over the water line, including a bow of a shape integral with the bridge of a hollow nearly semispherical to quarter-spherical shape or a partly cylindrical shape which is smoothly continuing to the stern to decrease the air resistance. The low-fuel-consumption transport ship further has a vertical tail incorporating a chimney and is rotatable on the uppermost stern deck to cancel the swinging moment in the air, without almost requiring check helm and, therefore, decreasing the underwater resistance.

Abstract: A seat mounting assembly is provided for attachment to a transverse bench-style seat of a fishing or Jon-type boat. The seat mounting assembly is quickly and easily attached to the bench-style seat such that the seat mounting assembly allows a seat attached thereto to, both, slide longitudinally to the transverse bench seat and be selectively locked into place, such that the seat cannot move relative to the transverse bench. The unique interface of the base and the rails of the seat mounting assembly helps ensure that the seat mounting assembly will not tip relative to the bench-style seat, while the low profile design of the seat mounting assembly helps keep that center of gravity of a boat to which the seat mounting assembly is installed substantially unchanged.

Abstract: A device for flagging an object buried in the snow includes a flag housed in a pouch, and held within the pouch by a closure mechanism such as a snap closure or a hook-and-loop closure. The flag is attached to a tether by means of an encircling element that passes around the closure mechanism (for example the encircling element could comprise a loop on the pouch end of the tether). As the encircling element is tugged on sharply, it forces the closure mechanism open, which allows the flag to exit the pouch, unfurling as it goes. The flag is attached via the tether to the object to be flagged, such as a ski, while the pouch remains fastened to a base object such as a ski boot. The system may also be used to locate avalanche victims, in which case the flag is attached to the person, thus providing a visual clue to the location of the victim buried below the surface of the avalanche.

Abstract: The application provides a control apparatus of a variable valve timing mechanism capable of converging valve timing to a target value with good responsiveness as well as with high accuracy when an engine starts. In the state where the engine starts, the variable valve timing mechanism is driven to a target value at the engine start by a second manipulated variable corresponding to a maximum variation speed of valve timing. Valve timing is estimate in the state where the variable valve timing mechanism is driven by the second manipulated variable, and when the estimated valve timing reaches the target value, a manipulated variable is switched from the second manipulated variable to a first manipulated variable which is a feedforward manipulated variable or to the first manipulated variable which is a value obtained by adding the feedforward manipulated variable and a feedback manipulated variable.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a continuously variable valve lift system for engines, which can prevent deterioration of fuel efficiency due to a friction loss by a return spring even in a low lift operation state by making a high lift swing angle be larger than a low lift swing angle, easily implement the CVVL by reducing a lost motion angle to an optimum condition, and securely generate an advancing effect in spite of reduction of the lost motion angle. Further, the continuously variable valve lift system is easy and convenient to adjust a clearance of an oscillating cam link, prevent the clearance of the oscillating cam link from being accumulated, and has a convenience of workability in adjusting the clearance in a narrow engine room.

Abstract: A device (1) which is used to modify the control times of an internal combustion engine (100) is provided. The device (1) includes a drive wheel (13), a drive element (4) and a swashplate mechanism (4). The torque of the crankshaft (101) is transferred via a primary drive to the drive wheel (13) and then, via the swashplate mechanism (2) to the drive element (4) which is secured to the camshaft (11) in a rotationally fixed manner. The configuration of the mounting of the drive wheel (13) on the tooth support (9) of the drive element (4) reduces the axial area of the device (1) due to the construction measures. The invention also relates to an embodiment, wherein the device (1) is fixed to the camshaft (11) by means of a securing screw (12a) without the need for additional space.

Abstract: A system and method for delivering catalytic molecular structure to a combustion chamber is disclosed. Catalyst base materials are reduced to a micronic fog by a device using the ultrasonic vibration of a piezoelectric disc. The liquid base materials evaporate instantly upon entering the engines air stream therefore releasing pure catalyst molecules into the combustion zone, thus reducing the time taken for catalytic combustion to the lowest denominator possible and allowing for the greatest effect achievable. This further reduces the amount of catalyst needed in the base solution compared to any other type of device or additive. The system also allows a user to control the delivery rate of the catalyst to the combustion chamber.
