Abstract: A member of a vehicle frame structure includes an extension portion that extends in a longitudinal direction and a kick portion positioned behind, and below the extension portion. Buckling lines are formed in parallel with each other in the extension portion, and each of the buckling lines is inclined such that a lower end is positioned ahead of an upper end in a side view. If a collision load is applied from a front side of a vehicle at the time of vehicle collision, the extension portion is deformed along the buckling lines, and a front end of the extension portion is displaced downward. Therefore, a vertical offset between the front end of the extension portion and the kick portion is reduced, thereby reducing a bending moment applied to the kick portion. Accordingly, the required yield strength of the kick portion can be set to a lower value.

Abstract: A wheel hub for capturing energy created by road bumps and converting that into energy to be used in moving a vehicle in it's current direction of motion. Energy return is accomplished by elastic spring means, although the physical principle of operation is not directly obvious. Any road shock imparted upon the wheel will result in a radial displacement of an outer wheel hub and thus a radial force toward the center of the wheel. The radial force will be released as an axial rotation imparted upon a wheel hub assembly, thus increasing the axial speed in the current direction of motion. The principle is similar to that causing the earth to rotate around the sun. The wheel hub assembly will not wobble erratically since there is a dampening component by virtue of a vehicles weight and moment of inertia of a rotating wheel. Additionally, total shock absorbtion, is increased.

Abstract: An axle arrangement (1) for two-wheelers, particularly for bicycles, wherein the arrangement includes a quick-release axle (2) having an axle (6) as the supporting part for a hub (7), wherein the axle can be inserted in receiving or dropout ends (3, 4) of a fork, a linkage, a rear end or similar mount. The axle has a threaded end (16) and a quick-release fastener (9) with a tensioning lever (10) on the other end. One of the receiving ends (3, 4), or an intermediate supporting part (13, 22) that can be connected to the dropout end, has a screw thread (15) for screwing in the one threaded end (16) of the axle (6). In addition, an adjustable stop may be provided for the purpose of limiting the screw-in depth of the threaded axle end (16) in the screw thread (15) of the receiving end (4) or in the screw thread (15) of the intermediate supporting part connected to the receiving end.

Abstract: Device including an inner shaft and an outer body rotatably mounted about an axis with respect to the shaft via at least one rolling bearing, the rolling bearing including an inner ring mounted on the inner shaft and an outer ring mounted in a housing of the outer body, the device including an automatic backlash elimination mechanism. The automatic backlash elimination mechanism includes a first washer having a tapered surface, and an elastic element in contact with the tapered surface of the first washer, the elastic element structured and arranged to generate a radial return force that is converted, by means of the tapered surface, into an axial force in order to eliminate the backlash related to the mounting of the rolling bearing. The first washer can be mounted on the shaft, in which case the elastic element generates a centripetal return force, or it can be mounted in the bore of the outer body, in which case the elastic element generates a centrifugal return force.

Abstract: This invention generally relates to the configuration of the inner surface of a traction band which increases the protection of the embedded reinforcing elements without reducing the flexibility of the band or increasing the generation of heat. The outer surface of the band generally comprises a plurality traction lugs while the inner surface generally comprises a plurality of drive and/or guide lugs. According to the present invention, each group of traction lugs, drive lugs and guide lugs, which are generally laterally aligned, defines generally non-flexible lug areas and each of these lug areas are separated by flexible and generally lug-less hinge areas.

Abstract: A crawler track where damage to drive lugs is reduced is provided. Grooves (26) in the circumferential direction of the crawler track (10) are arranged at the roots of the drive lugs (24). Thereby, tensile strain or compressive strain occurring in the roots of the drive lugs (24) when the crawler track (10) is wrapped over a wheel (14) etc. can be alleviated. Further, when the crawler track (10) meanders, a lateral load causes lateral pressure from the wheel (14) to a drive lug (24), producing tensile strain in the root of the drive lug (24). However, such tensile strain can be alleviated because the wheel (14) does not come into contact with the drive lugs (24) in the meandering movement.

Abstract: A rubber track (1) has formed in it simple means that can carry a part of abnormal tensile force acting on substantially the entire length in the circumferential direction of the rubber track (1). The construction secures smooth operation of the rubber track and reliably prevents cutting of a steel cord (s1) due to such abnormal tensile force. A core (3) has an engagement section (3b) located in the center region in the longitudinal direction of the core, guide projections (3a) on the outer sides of the guide projections (3a). The core (3) further has tensile force carrying sections (4a, 4b) arranged at positions that are located in the thickness direction of the core and are closer to the outer periphery of the rubber track than the outer peripheral-side d-surfaces of the wing sections (3c). The tensile force carrying sections (4a, 4b) carry tensile force acting in the lateral direction of the core and also carry pressing force acting in the thickness direction of the core.

Abstract: An individual replacement drive or guide lug for missing or worn lugs located on an inner circumference of various endless rubber tracks used on multi-surface vehicles. The lug comprises a body and a fastening including a bolt and washer. To install the drive lug properly, an inner surface of the track where the original vulcanized rubber drive lug was located must be prepared. When the original drive lug fails, it leaves an irregular surface and must be ground flat with the inner track belt substrate. The bolts are then secured through the track and the lug so as to removably secure the lug to the inner surface of the track.
