Publication number: 20100116981Abstract: In the process of identifying a protein by analyzing and processing mass spectrum data obtained for each micro area (pixel) created by subdividing a two-dimensional area on a sample, mass windows including a peak or peaks on the mass spectrum of each pixel are set (S10), and an integrated value of the ion intensities of the peaks included in each mass window is calculated (S11). For each mass window, a mapping image is created by collecting the integrated intensity values of the pixels (S12), and the mass windows are grouped by evaluating the similarity of the mapping images (S13 and S14). The peaks included in the mass windows belonging to the same group are regarded as originating from the same kind of substance, and those peaks are collected to create a mass spectrum (S15). Based on this spectrum, a protein is identified by a PMF method or the like. The present method can achieve a high level of identifying accuracy even if two or more kinds of proteins are mixed together.Type: ApplicationFiled: April 4, 2007Publication date: May 13, 2010Applicant: SHIMADZU CORPORATIONInventor: Shigeki Kajihara

Publication number: 20100116982Abstract: While applying a square wave voltage to the ion electrode (21) so that ions already captured in the ion trap (20) do not disperse, the timing of irradiating a laser light for ion generation is controlled in such a manner that ions reach the ion inlet (25) at a predetermined timing of a cycle of the voltage. In the case of a positive ion (cation) for example, the timing of laser light irradiation is adjusted in such a manner that the target ions reach the ion inlet (25) in the low level period of a cycle of the square wave voltage. By injecting ions in addition to the ions already captured in the ion trap (20) in this manner, the amount of ions can be increased, and by performing a mass separation and detection after that, the signal intensity in one mass analysis can be increased. Accordingly, by decreasing the number of repetitions of the mass analysis for summing up mass profiles, the measuring time can be shortened.Type: ApplicationFiled: March 28, 2008Publication date: May 13, 2010Applicant: Shimadzu CorporationInventors: Shinichi Iwamoto, Kei Kodera, Sadanori Sekiya

Publication number: 20100116985Abstract: A laser atom probe situates a counter electrode between a specimen mount and a detector, and provides a laser having its beam aligned to illuminate the specimen through the aperture of the counter electrode. The detector, specimen mount, and/or the counter electrode may be charged to some boost voltage and then be pulsed to bring the specimen to ionization. Publication number: 20100116986Abstract: An object of the present invention is to obtain a clear absorbed current image without involving the difference in gain of amplifier between inputs, from absorbed currents detected by using a plurality of probes and to improve measurement efficiency. In the present invention, a plurality of probes are brought in contact with a specimen. While irradiating the specimen with an electron beam, currents flowing in the probes are measured. Signals from at least two probes are input to a differential amplifier. An output of the differential amplifier is amplified. On the basis of the amplified output and scanning information of the electron beam, an absorbed current image is generated. According to the invention, a clear absorbed current image can be obtained without involving the difference in gain of amplifier between inputs. Thus, measurement efficiency in a failure analysis of a semiconductor device can be improved.Type: ApplicationFiled: January 21, 2010Publication date: May 13, 2010Applicant: Hitachi High-Technologies CorporationInventors: Tomoharu Obuki, Hiroshi Toyama, Yasuhiro Mitsui, Munetoshi Fukui, Yasuhiko Nara, Tohru Ando, Katsuo Ooki, Tsutomu Saito, Masaaki Komori

Publication number: 20100116989Abstract: An infrared light detector with an infrared light sensitivity thereof further improved. According to the infrared light detector, an isolated region of a first electronic layer is switched between a “disconnected status” and a “connected status”. Under the connected status, saturation of an electrostatic charge quantity of the isolated region in the disconnected status is eliminated, and consequently, saturation of a variation amount of an electrical conductivity of a second electronic layer is eliminated. Therefore, the infrared light sensitivity is further improved by time integration of the variation amount of the electrical conductivity of the second electronic layer.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 1, 2008Publication date: May 13, 2010Applicant: JAPAN SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY AGENCYInventors: Susumu Komiyama, Zhenghua An, Takeji Ueda
